Top flight, per usual. I used to play a lot of slide (not so much anymore) and everything you said is spot on. The resonator sounds great. Excellent cover and slide playing. Cheers!
Contrary to what Justin teaches here with a lot of right hand muting, what I expect is more common for slide playing is to mute using your fretting hand. So with the slide on your third finger, try resting your index finger on the strings in relaxed fashion. That will deaden any which are not fretted and to me is a more natural way to do it for slide guitar
@badface9955 Thanks. I guess if you're muting with the fretting hand then you may also use a plectrum instead of picking with your index as Justin does.
@ you could but then you’d lose the ability to pinch the 6th and 1st string together as per the opening bar unless you are a competent hybrid picker (using index and thumb on plectrum to pick the 6th and then say your third finger to pick the first string simultaneously )
Actually he teaches the correct way of muting which is muting the double notes from behind the slide with your index and/or middle finger of your fretting hand, and also resting your fingers all the strings with your picking hand so as to mute the ones you aren't playing. Slide guitar is more complicated than it seems

Great lesson Justin! If you’re ever trying to find another song to teach using that guitar I’d love to see a tutorial for You Got the Silver.
Just great and just what I needed you always do it the right way. Thank you

Excellent. 👍
Oh dear now I have to go out and get another guitar 🤦♂️
Nice, this is a unexpected change, seems the more technical everything becomes, the further back in time people are going for inspiration...
Awesomeness 👍
Please do some Rory Gallagher on acoustic!!
Excellent intro Justin 👏👏👏👏
Nice. How about “Walking Blues” Clapton Style for a lesson?
amazing justin. Been with you since I was a teenager (not to make you feel old ;p). You're the man!
Makes me immediately think of Gimme Shelter. The hotel scene.
What a song
This really good lesson is my very first time I look into slide guitar. I hadn't suspected there so much string muting going on! Thank you Justin!
