I remember queuing for this for 3 hours when it first opened. When we left the pleasure beach and walked to the South Pier, we looked and the 'pepsi max' (as then) was stuck at the top of the big hill at the start.
Lots of memories of Blackpool since growing up. From being taken on day trips with parents, family weekend breaks, later visits with your friends, weekend breaks with your now ex boyfriends, visiting with your children.

@@yourexperienceguide I can imagine that you do miss it. I do too and I only paid one or two visits a year, due to the distance and work, but i can appreciate how much you must be missing it, you visited so many times. Just goes to show, we shouldn't take anything for granted and make the most of things whilst they are there and we can. Having said that, we will all return there again one day and when we do, it will be all the more fun because we will have missed it so much. We will all support it when it does reopen. In the meantime, im well and working hard. Hope all there at PBE are well? Xx

The big one is such a good coaster - it gets too much hate. It is a bumpy ride, but most of the time that can be overlooked and the ride can still be enjoyed very much.
Towers Crazy! It gets far too much hate, but I’ve seen this kind of thing before; when it goes everyone will say they loved it and be angry with BPB for removing/closing it.
That’s the big problem - people don’t appreciate it for what it is, and when it goes everyone is going to miss it and wish they rode it more.
I’m too scared to go on this rollercoaster everytime I think about I get a panic attack how bad is it? I really want to go on it but I’m to scared
Pillo Case It’s really not as bad as you think. If you sit at the front, the first drop isn’t as scary as the back because you don’t get whipped around as fast. And it looks a lot taller and faster than it feels.

All Rollercoasters are different with their different experiences and abilities. This Rollercoaster has aged incredibly well. It gets better and better and more famous because its survived and is an absolute iconic beautiful masterpiece of Blackpool seafront. For those coaster enthusiasts that complain it doesn't have enough air time. Pls go on the coasters that give you that need but let others enjoy this especially people who are completely new to Rollercoasters. For a beginner this ride could be the best experience they have not to mention all the memories people make. This ride is not about air time it's not about being the bestest coaster for coaster enthusiasts. Its built for everyone. Out of a few that may grumble and want it changed their are thousands of people who have truly enjoyed this ride and made many happy memories in their heart. God the bless The Big One.... Love the importance and significance of the big one but sadly it hasn't aged well. Apart from the epic first drop I find it rather dull and bit on rough side. I hope at some point they can slightly alter the layout to provide more airtime moments as it's got the potential to be amazing with a few tweaks.
Mitul Varu Enthusiasts will always find fault with coasters but people are still drawn to BPB for this coaster alone.
Agree. Issue with Blackpool is they very rarely loose rides. Could easily make something else in a few years times in its place. Must be worth a penny or two as scrap
Danielle Dewitt Umm, they did the whole retrack during the closed season, nobody missed out on a ride. It was too rough, they made the right decision retracking it.
@@danielledewitt1 Its a poor ride. Apart from the first drop that is it. Look at what Alton had in the same year and that still runs like it was made yesterday. They could have the worlds tallest dive coaster, worlds tallest flying one etc but they struggle for investment like they used to and they will still have the big one when people can't see on it!

Great montage. Some of Mark's facial expressions when holding the camera are class. All jokes aside hats off to him, he's like a human gimbal! LOVE the backwards footage. Could Big One be ridden backwards or would some of the forces be too great? Also I'm going to be slightly controversial. When viewing Icon around 5:50 the section of track that's in sight doesn't look great, certainly from that angle. Not that anyone ever sees it from there!
Loved sitting on the back of it as you get pulled down the hill I also experience it at night.. Phenomenal

Who has ever been on the big one at Blackpool pleasure beach I think it's on of the best ones the blue flyer is rubish right
Samantha Boam Blue Flyer is for kids, so it’s not rubbish it’s just not for adults
Been on this times but unfortunately not my favourite although still a very very good coaster....... On a down side never been on the back 🙄 must give it a go lol

I wouldn’t really say it’s got the best first drop on any uk coaster as I got one of the most uncomfortable jolts ever on the first drop
I guess its because of how intense it is. Megafobia isn't miles behind though

All these were filmed last year before the retrack. But yeah, the new section is notably better.

donna patten Magnum is a lot better to be honest
Magnum for sure, it has some of the strongest airtime in the world along with the best scenery, just a world class ride while Big One really isn't (although it is very unique and historic)
@@Cosmic_Cretin the big one focuses more on speed, head choppers, sharp pull outs and views over the airtime magnum gives. Magnum is better but the big one is still great.
Sections that have been retracted seem to be tougher than the older track unless it's just the camera? Gets boring after the 1st brake run

Pleasure beach is not open
We know. None of the parks are open at the moment due to the lockdown. Hopefully they will reopen next year. I will visit for opening weekend in 2022
