Honestly makes me laugh - we all think musicians today are fake nice, but in our time every musician was fake disaffected and shy. This is such an interview of its time. Andrew Eldritch doesn't come from anywhere because is dad was in the airforce. Nice move. I think the first examples of the shy, disaffected intellect interviews were by Brian Jones and Mick Jagger - it was so gratifying and disruptive to see rockstars being classy and unassuming to a mildly salivating press.

I think the red one looked a bit naff, and it didn't seem to fit properly. It probably fell off, so he replaced it with a proper fitting black one.
