In Brazil, we use to cook the condensed milk in the pressure cooker. It takes only 30 minutes. But the authentic dulce de leche (or, as we call in Brazil "doce de leite") is made with 4 parts whole milk (preferably raw, which has much more lactose and fats) and 1 part sugar, cooked for hours, stirring for time to time until it gets creamy, silky and smooth.
I finally made this and shared it with my sister and neighbour who shared it with their friends and they said it was YUMMYY. Be using this recipe, my fav…thank you
Guys I just want to let you know that if you live in England ( probably elsewhere as well) you can buy ready-made caramel ( i found it at Tesco) so you don't have to make your own . The one that I buy is made by Nestle.
We just have to drizzle it with some Extra Virgin Greek olive oil, salt, pepper and thyme. :)))))))) Just kidding, the recipe is great, I have to try to make this as soon as possible. :)
Hi Akis! first of all, congratulations for your chanel because it's so good! And secondly, I would like to ask you a favor. Today is the birthday of one of your fans, she is called Beatriz Borao and she is always cooking your recipes and seeing your videos, that's why it's would be incredible if you say: " Happy Birthday Beatriz Borao!" Thank you very much Akis !!!!!
ive made a few banoffees but i never put sugar in my cream, i like the cream to balance out the absurd sweeteness that dulce de leche has. making me wonder how sweet yours had to be.
Akis Kitchen actually now that i think about it you probably used high cocoa chocolate wich would tone down the dulce, plus your dulce doesnt run everywhere. so next time i might try it like that.
Have made this for past 3 Thanksgivings always a hit!(unfortunately always have to take shortcut by getting prepped dulce de leche i am student and kitchen small)
So many chefs have a squeeze of lemon juice.. what do you do with the rest of the lemon if you don't cook things that need a queeze regularly? Stunning recipe, definitely gonna try it in the new year :)
+Daniel Gould make a lemonade, or put it in a tea, or eat the rest of the lemon because its full of vitamins and really good for you, or use it a day or two later if you'll need it for something because it won't get bad, or throw it away because it's not really that expensive. :)
Hi! Loved the recipe. One tip: it's not necessary to boil the condensed milk for that long. To get the consistency you were looking for when you put it on the pan to melt, it's enough to boil it for an hour I'm from Venezuela where we use it a lot, an hour is just the right time. Love xx
My Dimitris, I know you 're watching this video now. I hope you 'll make it exactly like Akis, otherwise I won 't eat it honey! And please be careful with the expiration date of the products you use...
Aaaaaaaah so that's Dulce de lèche, i didnt know ! In France we call that "confiture de lait" (milk jam.... yeah, it looks disgusting, i know) it's very easy to find in stores !
He's like Sophia Vergara, only male and Greek. Hence, he's super fun to watch, and the Greek cuisine seems supper yummy.

Banoffee
Akis Kitchen
The Greek Way 🇬🇷💋
A chef's pinch of salt is what I would consider a small handful...
he made quite a lot of the cooked condensed milk so he had to balance the ratio of the caramel to salt.
yeah, I was just trying to be funny.
Άκη είσαι φοβερός! Συνέχισε έτσι!

+Daniel Gould Just cut a little x in the lemon, and squeeze the juice from there.
Plz leave some on to taste 😂😂

Can I use milk chocolate for base and in filling ? I don like dark chocolate
you could
holy shit. making this today.
beautiful recipe !...
his english tho...
is it still banoffee if I leave out the bananas?
+assassintwinat8 well.... I guess no :-)
Akis Kitchen XD whatever it would be it'd probably still be good
I will have to swap the bananas for rough-chopped macadamias or slivered almonds.
Hmmmm
My Dimitris, I know you 're watching this video now. I hope you 'll make it exactly like Akis, otherwise I won 't eat it honey! And please be careful with the expiration date of the products you use...

...Confiture de lait, c'est pas plutôt lait concentré ?!!

+Anto Fauro Really ? Here in France it's very easy to find but we don't use it that much. I guess we don't know your awesome recipes :)
En même temps on est les roi du caramel...plus les Bretons du coup le caramel que nous utilisons dans nos recettes est fait avec du sucre
+Anto Fauro Any suggestion for an Argentinian dessert...I'm curious because I think I actually never eat something from there
He said sheer sexiness! I think my panties are wet lol
I love this recipe , but can I skip banana or substitute it with sth else ?))))
+Tata Gar strawberries or other berries.. poached pears as well...
Akis Kitchen Thanks a lot
Akis, 70% dark chocolate ok?
Great work by the way!
sure... or less
The -offee part of Banoffee stands for coffee, which is supposed to be an ingredient of this pie.
+Supertomiman it is toffee not coffee....
Akis Kitchen Shit, I've been lied to my whole life!!
Supertomiman your comment about you being lied to your whole life has me in tears with laughter. 😂😂
Supertomiman gd one 😂😂😂😂😂
Is dulce de lechen just cajeta?
+Miguel Vences yes!
