Someone stabbed me"."Do you need a ambulance?"What a question
Yes. What's wrong with some of these dispatchers? Unbelievably stupid
I get your point but also im sure theyre required to ask that
The intonation didn't help. I imagined her chewing gum and twisting her hair while taking the call.
I wish I had the 911 operator training manual so I can understand the reasons for the dumb questions
It’s a requirement. They can’t just assume what’s going on. People say that dispatchers ask “dumb” questions but, there are reasons for them. I’m sure one of the dispatch centers near you are hiring if you’d like to learn more. Truth be told, most people that are critical of these types of jobs would not be able to do the job themselves. Thankfully, there are people that can do it.
The neighbors all failed her. Thats absolutely insane.
I had a friend who had a bad acid trip and started wrecking shit and screaming “kill me” at the top of his lungs, and it took me and a friend to restrain him till he calmed down. It unironically sounded like a brutal murder was happening and I was CERTAIN the cops would come but they never did, and honestly I feel less safe knowing that
@@charliemcmillan4561 Wow…I’m so happy your friend is okay!! I understand the whole “mind your business” argument but I could never hear screams like that and just go about my day. People don’t look out for each other anymore

They ask stupid questions to keep your brain working while ambulance and help is on the way. The second they hear the issue they have already dispatched units. Sounds dumb and not caring but it keeps you answering questions.
The dispatcher wouldn’t have known that the woman was dying. Her job is to speak clearly and not be emotional. She needs to get info and keep them talking.
It looks bad to US because we know she eventually passes way.
Operators aren’t supposed to sound panicked or worried. Their job is to speak calmly and clearly and keep people in distress talking to get as much info.
So don't..
The victim was in distress but the 911 dispatcher was talking to her like it was a customer service call

The fact that people can hear all these screams from their neighbors house and don’t call police is so infuriating to me. Someone can literally be dying next door but you don’t think you should get involved? Can’t wrap my head around that
It’s sad 😞
Well as I agree in this situation entirely but as someone who has called about a lost dog I was grilled and made to do those drunk tests when they showed up! I don't even drink or anything else! I was so mad so I get it when people are hesitant. But if I ever heard or saw someone in trouble then for sure absolutely I'd call!!
Most times these things happen because people don’t want to get involved because of the outcome. I just had moved to AZ, my neighbor was in a domestic violence relationship, I would always hear them argue or him beating on her, one day it was pretty bad to the point she was screaming and calling for help. I called the police. The police came out knocked on their door and she answered with the room dark and speaking from the door crack, telling the police that nothing was wrong, etc. Long story short the police talked to her and left. Couple days later I seen her and her face was purple, black, blue and swollen. The reason I called the police is because they had 2 young boys under the age of 2. About a month later they moved out. From time to time I think about the kids. Hope they are safe and doing well.

Those are some stone, cold neighbors, for sure. Turning up volume of things to drown out screaming?! That's about as abnormal as you can get. The number of murders that are linked to divorces, money and custody battles is truly troubling.
Shared custody would have prevented this murder. Kidnapping children from men and enslaving them to their ex-wives, weirdly, induces resentment.

Why didn't neighbors call the police they listened to screaming and fighting for 4 hrs.
_some_ people don't want to get involved. And considering the 'Pirate fetish/shenanigans' going on, maybe loud noises were a common ocurrance.
Also perhaps that is a daily or weekly occurrence and people just get tired of reporting the same people over and over only to hear them again next week.
Check out the murder of Kitty Genovese in 1964. Neighbors (some reports say 38 people) heard the attack and didn't do anything. They assume someone else will do something about it.
I have neighbors who fight nonstop, screaming throughout the night some nights for hours and hours. There isn't one of my current neighbors who I'd be surprised to hear yelling and fighting from. Though, I'd hope they'd call if it was me, because it's just myself and my kids and I'm never fighting with anyone. You never know, though.
Depends on the neighborhood. Sometimes screams like that are way too common by random weirdos outside. Daily I hear screams and loud noises and just by looking you realize it’s a bunch of kids or adults being loud and obnoxious and not in danger. It’s so pathetic how often I hear blood curdling screams around me and I’m so quick to just wanting to call 911 just to see or find out it was just some obnoxious losers outside. It feels like an impossible task in some neighborhoods to actually worry for others. I say if it’s something on going or long lasting screams that aren’t just argumentative (unless you can hear the level of violence in their argument) that’s when you should call regardless if you feel you’re wrong or not. Especially if that’s not common. But it’s waste-less to call every time you hear fights, disruptions and yelling/screams in areas where that’s almost a daily occurrence. I doubt even cops would bother at that point. I can’t assume how common that was for them considering there were a bunch of roommates, but if it wasn’t common, that would be truly evil of them for not calling.
That poor woman. What is horrific is the fact that several neighbours heard the screams yet not one of them thought to phone the Cops. She may have been able to be saved if Cops were notified.
Exactly.

I would agree if there weren't several well documented instances of people calling 911 to get help for themself or someone else, only for the victim, whether it be the caller or someone the caller contacted the police for, ends up being killed by the police.
Unless you get in trouble… You probably also shouldn’t listen to someone on RUclips based on “I promise nothing will happen.”

The dispatchers ALWAYS act more concerned about the perp than the victim - who is FAR more concerned about not dying than ensuring their attacker is brought to justice. Just tell them right away that you are sending help. Do _something_ to reassure this person who has just been violently attacked and now lies dying, their only thoughts being how inefficient and uncaring the last person she heard was.
do you read other people's comments? They have already said this above over ad over.
I love the detective work done for this case. Found a picture of a shoe and that allowed them to piece together a string of evidence.
That was class
The female murderer told detectives she watches shows like criminal masterminds, etc. You would think somebody aware of basic detective techniques like using shoeprints would be smarter in their crime. Guess not.
Aaron is a legend for hanging up! pure comedy.
yep, with Aaron in the speaker I can imagine his fiancée making all sort of faces to prevent him from saying something...you know...incriminating...😮...😊
That was for sure the most sketchiest way to lure someone to admitting something incriminating. It was WAY to obvious
No doubt. “Hey buddy. I just got out of the police station and I need you to talk about that murder you helped my girlfriend with”. Hello. HELLO? Aaron are you there? Umm wander why he hung up? This seemed like such a solid plan. Aaron ant no dummy.
It’s not lack of empathy, as a dispatcher, part of their job is to remain calm and calm the caller, the last thing you would want is a frantic dispatcher. Also they have to keep the caller on the phone and gather as much information as they can or In certain situations like CPRs they would give the person calling first aid instructions.
Amazing police work. 👍
"I'm not good the relationship thing"
WOW this is the understatement of the year.
Why do people marry someone who cheated on their partner to be with them? No shock when he did it again.
"Im stabbed up!!!!"
Operator:"Do you need an ambulance???"
"Naw bih send me a pepperoni pizza, extra cheese " smh
😂 seriously though , what the hell, I know it must be jarring listening to people dying on the phone all day, but she could at least try to sound concerned..
Of course RUclips commenters are stupid, as always, I've heard them say "what, you want the dispatcher to scream and cry?" 🤦🏻♂️C'mon... Always with the exaggerations..
Or a hearse?
@@willyb7353 exactly, no companion nor empathy and their the last voice many people hear before their last breath.
@@RancorousSea What concerning is these kind of people get and keep these type of positions when they should be no where near other humans nor dependent upon by smh
@@willyb7353 im pretty sure youre the only one exaggerating lol.. like you said she hears calls like this 24/7. i'm sure when she first started it was harder to keep calm. you youtube commenters literally dont realize that operators are trained to keep calm, cool, and get the information they need asap. they arent there to show "empathy" or "compassion". theyre there to get information on whats happening, send out 911 and an ambulance if needed, and make sure these people get the help they need. operators save thousands of lives by doing what they do. its pretty pathetic that youtube commentors like you can't appreciate that lmao.
My uncle worked on this case for GPD. Crazy. I had forgotten all about this case.
The detective at the end saying, “it was good seeing you again!” after he was arrested cracked me up.
I think he had the last laugh. 5 years. He probably spent every day in prison laughing himself to sleep.
So, all of the roommates lied when they said they saw them there all night? Especially the one in the garage? This is a horrible case, I will never understand how someone could be that violent with someone. Disgusting
It is disgusting, I question myself sometimes as I know I could have literally done this to my ex wife. I would hope that I couldn't but in the past I really thought about it. Glad I out grew that fantasy.
@@rodman0088u good bro? Jesus Christ
@@ryanvielmetti1633 Yeah, much better these days. Thank goodness I didn't do anything weird when I was younger if you know what I mean.
@@rodman0088while I can’t say I’ve felt the urge to kill, I can definitely see if someone was driven to anger that badly they’d do something drastic. Definitely glad you got out of that headspace dude. You’re better off being you, getting money, and focusing on family. No one is ever worth making you a bad man.
No truer words were ever spoke. Thanks, it's good to hear them! I won't get into it too much, maybe just mention that it included 'child custody'. Anyways, I'm passed it now thank goodness. Thanks again.@@Nokomomo22
Well now, my extensive experience with interrogations, via my RUclips crime addiction, tells me that sitting with her hair pulled over her face is a dead giveaway!
No normal person should give Cousin It vibes.
@@Tamara-fb4so well said

Yep! 😅 4:47
Could be worse You could be addicted to meth or tranq
I like how the 911 dispatcher was inquiring about the assailant first.
I watch a lot of true crime and so very little phases me but I gotta admit the venn diagram of pirate role players with the sexual fetish community made me stop and marvel at the bizarre shit people get up to
At first I was thinking "oh cool, Pirates!" Then, "oh shit no, pirates"
That's, like, the least weird fetish.
u thought "dayum someone had been living their best life" :D
that was the least surprising part of this vid tbh. ever been to a renn fair? they're all banging each other lmao
Same!
I once worked with a woman at the school district who collected all kinds of federal ssa funding for all her kids' supposed disabilities.
There was nothing wrong with any of them. She kept them all medicated. It was torture! I worked with special needs kids.
She should be in prison also.
“Ended up puking and shitting myself at the same time”
Oh my God that’s horrible. I’m sorry. 😅😅
"Do you need an ambulance?" Omg. 🙄
"Do you mind if I keep my head down during this second interview? Just so you can't see that I'm lying."
Great detective work on this case, especially regarding the boots
24:13 "Didn't help her drive it anything like that?" "nooOOOo" *click*
My boy was not having it
It was so obvious!
That emergency dispatcher was horrifically blasé, like she was dealing with someone who tripped and fell. Annie must have been so scared bless her 🥺
Detective booking him: "It was nice to see you again!"
🤣☠️☠️
5:41 Boy, it seems strangely suspicious that she was killed on a night her daughter wasn’t home,…that’s either very fortunate or by design! Detectives tend to have trouble with coincidences like that. To me, it seems too good to be luck.
“Someone stabbed me!”
“Do you need an ambulance?”
“No, send an ice cream truck.”
that honestly pissed me clean off.
@@kamaiawool9808 100% fuck you yes send me a goddamn ambulance. There’s so much wrong with the 911 dispatch.
😂they should fired her
😅😂😂😂
not everyone who gets stabbed is in critical condition, and she could already be at or on the way to the hospital. but that's too much critical thinking for you isn't it?
This dispatcher 🙄 "do you need an ambulance?". WTAF lol
Baffles me how people hear screaming and don't call the cops. Some people are so fucking stupid. Could it not turn out to be an emergency? Sure, but its worth having someone come to make sure people aren't in danger!
Her putting her whole head down w her hair covering her face is GOLD. Classic guilty shameful body language 😂😂😂
Those neighbors are the worst. I can’t even stand hearing stuff like this. She could have been saved.
Yes but people have arguments all the time so don’t get mad at the neighbors. Cuz no one knows someone is being murder there jeez
It likely says something about her and her house that her neighbours didn't care (and/or thought it was normal).
“I’m just gonna keep my eyes shut and my head down”…..wtf ?
Wow, her neighbors were completely useless. Poor Anne.
Portlanders care about each other sooo much

I wonder which one is the good cop and which one is the bad one
Lmao

Caller: ive been stabbed
911: press 1 for espianol...press 2 for english...

Okay
Dispatcher should be fired and be responsible for ambulance not arriving enugh fast
@@TDlv12and you deserve a kick in the teeth for being so goddamn stupid. you think the dispatcher knew everything at the time? moron.
We have the benefit of someone having pored over the audio to caption it. Close are eyes and think about whether you’d be able to understand what she was saying without aid.
