For having that much reused material, is impressive how much of it was seamleaslly integrated in the movie. I didn't noticed the first times I watched it.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the other big parallel to Star Wars: The motif that is used for Lucius was actually written for Attack of the Clones and appears many times throughout that movie. It represents the Separatist conspiracy and (since he's at the center of it) also kind of indirectly Count Dooku.
@@AndrewMerideth No, in hindsight I think you didn't miss anything. I had that "fact" that they are the same thing in my head for years and even remember getting my mind blown from hearing the similarity for the first time. But listening to it closely the difference between the 2 is actually very obvious. I guess I never really paid close enough attention to Lucius' motif. That plus probably some confirmation bias :D
@@josiahcmiller ooh, that'd be an interesting concept! generally speaking I'm not a big fan when themes are retconned as that creates confusion, but I think this would work!

The genius of Bill Ross man. Orchestrators/Arrangers are seriously some of the unsung heroes of film music
I love the theme for Fawkes. I like to think John Williams would've used it later for the Order of the Phoenix as well.
Oh that’s a good thought! A missed opportunity for sure
Awesome video

They are similar, but note wise they seemed different enough to me. Maybe there's a variation of it I missed that's closer to the same?

The stone theme kind of worked like a companion theme for Voldemort theme in the first movie.
yup! the stone theme was part of voldemort's theme initially when williams wrote the children's suite
@@AndrewMeridethI wish they had retconned it to be the “immortality theme” and kept it for the horcruxes.

Actually, the Lockhart cue was borrowed from the Nazi-Cue in Raiders of the Lost Ark. They are exactly the same.
From Raiders? I've seen posts online comparing it to No Ticket from Indy 3 which I can see. I felt the Dursely cue was closer personally
@@AndrewMerideth might be from the Last Crusade. I can hardly tell them apart. 😳
Will you also make a video for Prisoner of Azkaban?? That one has some of my favorite pieces 🥰
I'm not against it, but I currently don't have an idea/theme for a video on that score yet
Well, I will eagerly await one if you do! Just found your channel, btw. Awesome videos! Gonna start delving into your backlog!
