Interesting how much you know about all the differences and design flaws of each. I probably won't remember a fraction of everything you said, but I now understand a lot more about them all... Thumbs Up!

Yes, a lot of knowledge. I would suggest a 3x5 card beside each transaxle, denoting the brand and the model # and if it is a clone and if so, of what. Also, in closing, a summary statement about each unit and its strengths and weaknesses and best application. BTW, the early comments about axle length, very helpful.
The title might read, "Comparing the Spicer 38492 and the Ferndock 395u73 and the Boonsford 89V"
A separate video of the parts washer would help this viewer make the most of his screen time.
All this sounds picky, and I apologize for that. Keep the info coming! I am grateful for your sharing your expertise in a useful way!

Great video! Its crazy at the amount of clones and bad designs i can't get over the fact that there wasn't a spacer from factory thats mind blowing

The space thing was my last straw on caring to put it back together. Its complete garbage even a Doc Locker would not save it because of the way the bull gear sits.

@@redneckcomputergeek i locked a spicer for my buddy with that exact same way the bull gear suts and it was terrible one of the worst transmissions i have experienced

@@craftsmancrusher207 hehe I used a spicer when I was first getting into these things, because I didn't want to pop the 801 that was in my machine even though they are pretty stout.
So I swapped one of those in ,and yes I know they are junk.
It was working ok with the original 12hp but was wearing out quick i knew.
Then I got greedy and swapped a 20hp in it.
Pulled it outside ,and the first clutch dump scattered it's guts all over 🤣🤣🤣
Swapped in my built 801 for temporary use and got a mst-206 after that.
Still got an eye out for an 820 ,but not looking hard unless one falls into my lap.

I just picked up a free Sentinel mower made by Noma with a Spicer trans.. The transmission doesnt drive the wheels. I took a look while i had it in gear and the brake disc spins, but the axel does nothing. Any suggestions? Fixable?

How are Foote transaxles? I know they bolt in place of peerless and spicer units but I’ve just used them for mowing

Foote pre date most of the spicer 4360. But are to spicer what Mazda is to Ford. They are a bit weaker but not by much.
