  • First launching in the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango and Fiat 500 EV, Uconnect 5 is the entertainment and navigation software that you'll be seeing in every FCA vehicle over the next few years. It has a faster processor, higher-res graphics, a refined interface, broader support for additional apps like Amazon Alexa, OTA updates and more. Join me as I take a quick tour of the new system.

Makes me appreciate the simplicity and ease of use in cars before the touch screens took over the "dashboard". Not that this system isn't cool, but many us are quite happy without having to use these busy screens. Progress? Maybe. In 20 years there might be an "old school option" that allows you to order a car with just levers, buttons and knobs to control the climate and audio. Like my 66 Mustang. 🙂

Don’t get me wrong, this is a fantastic system. But at some point I am just overwhelmed with all the options and features. I kinda just care about turning on my music, putting a destination into my nav and adjusting my climate controls. I’d be okay if there wasn’t as much flexibility or manipulation in this system.

    Wow, that Uconnect looks awesome!
I have the crappy 2016 model in my Challenger, but running the latest firmware, which does nothing special, still no Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.
I was gonna by a newer model Uconnect, but will hold out for this one.
Hopefully it doesn't have a 20,000 limit on reading mp3s on a stick like mine, sucks always having to delete CDs every time I want to add newer music.
Plus mine takes a good 10 to 15 minutes to load whenever I want to switch to a different artist.
