people here making comments as if we were talking about a 20 years old. He´s just a boy of course he´ll get distracted. No matter how good at chess he is it doesn't mean he's got a mature brain already. He acts just like any other boy for his age.. calm down a little with all your schooling.. most of us would probably lose against him anyway!
Why do you people take it so personally and get aggressive? Sure he's a kid, but even little kids can be encouraged to focus and develop good playing etiquette. Those kids obviously want to win, because they often break down in tears when they lose. And many of their losses are the result of not paying attention.
It is also common courtesy to pay attention to the board and not look around acting bored or playing with toys. That can be encouraged at any age.
you can try to encourage whatever you want but you'll never change human biology! Kids get distracted. I don't know if it's on purpose or not, neither do you. However, it is highly studied by psychology that due to the structure of children's brains in development, they cannot pay attention and be quiet for periods of time. Whoever studied a little bit of evolutive psychology knows about this. As a teacher myself I had studied it and also learnt it from experience as well. On the other hand, I don't take it personally I just stated my opinion. To be honest, if you take aggressive an opinion that differs from your own perspective that's your problem, not mine.@@CONTACTLIGHTTOMMY

Watch his other games. He seems to visualize the board and checks his moves in advance what from the outside looks like hes distracted or does not pay attention. I'm waiting for the next big chess genius here...

This kid carries the whole show and makes the game fun. He is just fun to watch play even when he loses, that's how relaxed and natural he is. Makes me laugh all they way through.

Haaa, yup. He is a charmer that is for sure. His brother is the same way as well, always digging for the gold. I've seen a match with his brother where he sneezed all over the board, and his opponent didn't even blink. They do things that just make me smile from ear to ear.

Entre la experiencia, el conocimiento y la concentracion de la Sra. se puede decir que lo hizo "moco", nunca tuvo chances el pequeño prodigio. No lo hemos visto, pero alguien se imagina a Bobby Fischer a esa edad jugando asi ?? Va a tener que aprender a tomarse el juego en serio, si no sera como aquellos "dotados" en otros deportes que no triufaron porque no se comprometieron, por mas virtuosos que habrian sido.. claro, es un niño, bueno.. por eso mismo.

El jovencito además de ser muy bueno para su corta edad es supuestamente muy listo porque cuando la señora estaba mas apurar de tiempo presuntamente se dio de cuenta el y cuando le tocaba jugar a la señora el por casualidad se distraía mas no se si supuestamente con el un de que se fijara en el y así también se distrajera y poder ganar unos segundos pero la señora jugo muy solida y concentrada y el joven también es admirable pero creo que juega mucho tiempo para su corta edad en fin Éxitos.

It's not criticizing. Just encouragement to focus and be considerate of the opponent. He can act silly playing other kids, but when playing against adults, he should try to be more respectful.
