I’m experiencing the exact opposite problem with my wooden wicks. They burn way too hot, and the flame gets really large, causing the glass to become excessively hot. I buy mine from Candle Shack with the CS2 wax and the recommended wicks, but I haven’t made a single candle that burns well-whether I use wooden or cotton wicks! 😂
A topic that would be interesting would be the aspects of what bees wax does for your candles. I’d imagine it would slow down the melt pool but does it do anything for HT or CT? Does it affect the color of your wax when it burns?
Ughh the wood wicks! I have already perfected my candles with cotton wicks, but the wooden wick curiosity took over. I have been testing for months and the consistency of the batches and the way they burn is killing me. I’m ready to throw my hands up and go back to my beloved CDN’s. The wood wicks definitely bring a different luxury aesthetic and vibe, but gosh darn! (Flips table) Love this channel thanks for sharing❤
Thank you, Allen I’ve been trying so hard with the wood wicks so glad I am not alone. I recently purchased the CD cotton wicks you suggested I have not received them yet . I love the sip n chat along with the other videos! I am wicking the 3” tin. Very hard ! Hangin in !! Again soon..
Thank you Allen! STILL in major testing mode, almost 6 months now and the darned wicks!😵💫😵💫😱😵💫 Wooden wicks are so fun but it is a challenge overall, so I decided to only have a few candles with them. Love your idea that adding some mica might help keep the hot flame/burning be reduced to a better level! This gives me some hope that I can go back and try a small amount of mica with my wooden wicks and see if that does the trick! Tend to be a perfectionist so by now I’ve gone through over 70lbs of wax and hoping my major testing phase will produce ideal candles soon.🤪😅 Thanks again for great insight and your honesty on how candle making is definitely not an easy endeavor. 💖
Hey I just found you and your videos and I love that you are so open with everyone about the trials, your recipes, etc. since you are self employed what are you using for like your payroll/accounting type side. Sorry if you have did a video on this before but I just found you today and you have a lot of videos that I’ve been watching.
love your videos!! I'm new to candlemaking, but really set on wooden wicks because I love the crackle! I got some crackling wooden wicks from makesy but I was thinking maybe the ultimate wood wicks are better quality? But I'm not sure they crackle....do you have experience using those?
Stuidio tour and or Studio growth would be amazing how has your growth been what do you wish you waited on whats a success ! me and husbands love watching your videos!
Allen,
You save us so much trial and error! Thank you for not gatekeeping information. You're great.

Is there any noticable difference between CD and CDN?

Hi from Puerto Rico
Hi 👋🏼!
Aren't all wood wicks made by the same company due to patents?
Hey Allen have you tried wooden wicks with your concrete vessels?
I have but I’m honestly yet to find something that really works consistently well.
@@earthglow have you tried the ultimate wicks?
I double my wood wicks.
❤
Love you vids but recently when you name all your patreons is very annoying, hope you can find another way, thanks 🫶
Glad you enjoy my videos! You can absolutely just click off on that part if it bothers you. 👍🏼
@@earthglow yeah what happens is that I usually play your videos while working or washing dishes so I just put automatic play, thanks anyways 👍
