@MontalbanJR I think hitting it with a rock or stabbing it straight on the head is the only humane way to do it. Quick and easy. Instead of leaving In a ice box where it suffers slowly.

Because we're using light line set up so if we force them in, it will snap the line very easily!

Hey Taku, do you have any experience with telescoping rods for kayak fishing? We recently got 2 kayaks and we plan on making some fishing/kayaking videos in the near future, the less clumsy equipment onboard, the better! Love the content as always!

Steelhead don’t spawn and die like salmon. Steelhead come into the rivers hangout for awhile, spawn and head back to the ocean or Great Lakes.

Just an observation but try and not reel against the drag, you lose touch with the fish. Only reel in when you lower your rod tip towards the fish so pull up, reel down the hold a second to see if it wants to run, if not pull up and reel down and repeat :)
I would add, stop endlessly mucking with the drag. Set it properly and maybe one small adjustment on the fly and then trust it.

Ensei is the master. Damn, I gotta say... combat fishing is getting out of control out here. I'm always reminded of those right-wing "preppers" who say they're gonna run into the hills and live on deer when SHTF. I will happily stay out of their way and continue to plant and grow food crops, and keep my loaded rifle by my side because when they finish killing each other for that one deer, they'll come back starving.

Your First steelhead was huge and chrome! Caught a 16lb buck on Wednesday but it was a native so let ‘im go. That’s fine though he’ll make more babies! Hoping to get a big chromer to eat soon though.

My 32 inch coho I caught was 20.9 lbs here in kenai Alaska. Great catch exciting. You don’t need to scale , the most healthiest part of fish is the skin natives here eat it I’ve tried it and it’s great. Skin side down when I bake it or put on grill but always tin foil butter lemon juices onions and maybe mayonnaise

you definitely should make a 2nd channel. 1 channel for your catch and outdoor cooking from your pov lets say this channel :). you should make the 2nd channel where you take some of your catches home and narrate plus have either a front view while your cooking or top view. I would definitely be subbed to both.

Great vid!! Only thing I have an issue with is your reel handle. Why do you have handle on the right? Are you guys left handed? Reason I ask is most salmon and steelhead guys further up north (Washington/Oregon) that are right handed reel with our left. I notice you guys have to continue switching hands on rod while casting and fighting fish. I fight steelhead and salmon with my dominant hand to have more control over fish and reel with my left that way I never have to switch hands while I cast/fight fish
