Idc about the graphics in fact I think they look perfectly fine, Pokémon platinum being my first Pokémon game and favorite Pokémon game, I’m really looking forward to exploring a reimagined journey through sinnoh again just like I did back when I was 9 years old
Me too man, diamond was my first pokemon game. I was 8 years old and I fell in love with it instantly. People who are complaining about the graphics would have complained either way even if it was set in the same graphics engine as sword/ shield. I've been waiting for this for over a decade and I'm not gonna let a change in graphics ruin the nostalgia and fun I'm gonna have playing this. Plus I actually really like these graphics. If they used the same engine as sword/ shield I honestly think it would've been worse and I'm also glad there's no gimmicky battle things like dynamax. Just original pokemon that I love.

I’m just waiting to see what they do to expand it. HGSS and ORAS brought so many new things to the table and revamped the history of the region and legends, and I loved them for that.
If they miss this chance to revamp the story of the generation that introduced the literal GODS of the Pokémon world, that would suck so much.

When you put it that way I sound pretty contradicting haha. I feel like when they say "faithful remake" it's mainly the look and feel of the game and they might still have newer features in battles. Fingers crossed we get mega evolutions back!

People need to remember that this isn’t the final animation for the game, the overall style for the D&P remakes won’t change, but it will get better, I’m sure when we see some trailers later on it will look better.

The whole point of remakes is to have a better experience than the originals. These games fail to do that. Where are the mega starters? Platinum episode? Don’t get me started on the character and Pokémon models. Now don’t get me wrong I appreciate what they did for the overworld, the chibi designs have a certain charm to them. However the models in battle look like plastic and have no vibrancy to them. As usual the animations are copy and paste from the last couple of gens. I wouldn’t be surprised if they also cut content from the game and release as dlc lmao. Overall the Nintendo and Pokémon community will eat up anything they throw at them. It’s clear these games have the lowest budget possible for maximum profit. They know this fan base is easy to please and are taking full advantage of it

If i wanted to play the same game, i would play diamond and pearl on the 3rd. This literally just changed the graphics and its trash. I loves sword but they were pretty lazy for that too. They just rendered the pokemon animations from Sun and Moon to the switch. But this is lazy af. Pokemon constantly disappointing.

As strange as it sounds, this is EXACTLY what I wanted in a D/P remake. I love the games so much that I just wanted what I remember with a bit if modernisation like reusable TMs and stuff. I was in 2 minds about a full remake. So the fact that apart from 3D/chibi graphics this looks like the originals and will have updated features, I'm so happy!
They have 9 months to work with to polish the graphics and animations. I think the games may release in November.

Love how the statue looked like just Palkia in the original Diamond & Pearl games, but now in the remake it looks like a weird fusion between Dialga & Palkia & MO is like “It doesn’t look like both of them anymore...”

I waited years for it the overworld to look the same. No walking Pokémon with personalities, no rideable Pokémon, no change in Dawn’s and Lucas’ outfits. Just wow.
Hopefully, I can beat Cynthia now. I still have memories of six-year-old me, throwing my cousin’s DS out of a window 😭 The art style varies on opinion, I'm just glad to try out Sinnoh again.

I suspect, based on the character models from legends arceus being reskins of dawn and [male sinnoh protagonist], that they originally tried making the sinnoh remakes using the sw/sh engine, but realized that things didn't look right in terms of scale. after all, it seems odd that they would emphasize that these remakes "preserve the sense of scale from the originals," so I think it might actually be a case of them overcompensating for their first attempt making the characters look too big for the environment they were designing around? it is odd, though, that they are going back to the old "tall grass ambush" style of wild pokemon, but I guess it makes sense given the chibi artstyle and the fact that a lot of pokemon probably would not fit in the overworld given the art style they went with... as it is, that drifloon they showed looked like it was at least as big as the humans, but such size discrepancies are more acceptable in a top-down style pokemon game like this...
I dont think this is the reason. I think it has more to do with GF staffing since covid and the limited time they have. Additionally, most pokemon fans know Nintendo/Pokemon Company havent been exactly pleased with sales in the previous games, so they probably opted for this for those two likely case senarios. The graphics is so different because its the same company from Pokemon HOME, the exact same graphics. Legends Arceus is exactly what it looks like, an attempt to make a more Breath of the Wild feel for a pokemon open world environment. With SwSh attempting open world envirnonment, they tried to take out the turn based syntax menu and maintain the open field, a new game style play. At least, for pokemon.
@@iCurvaceous sure, but that doesn't explain why they made the legends protagonists almost identical to dawn and [forgettable male sinnoh protagonist], rather than making them be completely new characters with unique designs. in every single other spinoff title (other than mystery dungeon, which had no human characters), the lead character generally seems to be a unique design specific to that game. It is this oddity, that the protagonists are so clearly dawn and [the other sinnoh protagonist], rather than new characters, that makes me think that this is reusing assets from a failed attempt at bringing gen 4 into the gen 8 graphics, rather than character designs created specifically for legends arceus.
@Zach Rodan I wont say you are wrong with the Sinnoh protagonists being created with the intent of using the swsh gen 8 engine, but your story revolving around it is very far fetched. All it looks like is that they had started early in production of the game, and was told to stop because ilca was taking over. I don't think it has anything to do with GF's ability as game designers. Nothing screams a failed attempt. Legends Arecus looks like, exactly what was intended so far. SwSh engine and models with Breath of the Wild rendering and rigging. Ilca made Pokemon HOME, all they did was take all the rendered pokemon from HOME and dropped it in DPP. Then created characters to try to suit the same graphics. Thats why driftloom looks odd.
In game development its very normal to have mediocre graphics until the final stages. The probability of it being over the fact that they were "failing" is extremely low. No director would make such an odd call. Especially since they have all true value Sinnoh size references from since anime production and the original games. All the reference drawings match swsh's engine.

I am not sure if any of remember, but back in 2007 and 2008 you needed to win a mystery gift key to access the Darkrai event. I hope that isn't the case this time.
Here’s what I thought, I feel like they’re playing it safe. The in battle sprites are kinda ugly. Especially Barry. But HD chibi is exactly what I wanted. I’m hoping it’s more polished later on however.
And honestly people can’t complain that they ruined the game because it’s literally the same game but different graphics. And as long as they keep the challenge or let us choose the difficulty I’ll be happy no matter what :)

As for the megas and stuff, Pokemon has been doing pretty well without them for years. Sure, they were fun, but they didn't need to be there. If you don't want to get the game, then don't.
