- Pokémon Turns 25 today! To celebrate, Pokémon game us some amazing announcements, such as, Sinnoh Remakes which will be named Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokémon Legends ARCEUS, and updates to games such as Pokémon Snap! I am so happy that generation 4 is getting a remake, as gen 4 is my favorite generation and the Sinnoh region is my favorite region. I cannot wait to see how these new games for Nintendo Switch turn out!

For the DP remakes yes. For the Legends: Arceus Game. I‘ve never seen a more underwhelming reaction to this. Everybody freaked out about it. Maybe it’s just not their type of Game and they just want the old things.

It's really not a strange choose of starters if you think about it. Each one is very fitting for the time period of the game, The Volcano, The Archer and The Samurai all three fit very will in a game set during a fudal period.
and you wouldn't have Sinnoh starters because you are going out there to catch said Sinnoh starters to document their types, their abilities, their strengths, weaknesses, etc

@@LawfullSpook perhaps, but logically; if there are like 5 settlements (give or take) if there is a threat (which there 100% will be) they need to determine the strongest trainers, they could use the "Elite Four" system to determine who is the strongest trainer and therefore the one who is capable of facing future threats... but yeah, being a research assistant also makes sense

Allow me to explain the starter choices in Legends Arceus: The trailer stated that it takes place during an alternate, feudal version of Sinnoh. Presumably, it takes place after or even during some sort of war. Decidueye shoots arrows, Typhlosion explodes, and Samurott fights with swords.
Also, it may be set before sinnoh had established starter mons
Just commented the same thing before seeing your comment lol I picked up on this fairly quickly and I'm quite surprised others didn't. Typlosion is literally the Volcano Pokémon and the other two are an Archer and a Samurai.

Not feudal. The technology is too advanced, the clothes don't fit the feudal era, the materials with which the buildings are built are too advanced (shindels) and many more reasons why. As lockstin explained it in his video its more likely set in the late 19th century and early 20th because Japan was much more behind the rest of the world technology-wise. Its also more likely that the war caused the change in the landscape to the modern one from the DP games as it would not only fit with a war that happened in the region sinnoh is based on around the end of the 19th century but also ig was the war that brought along modern inventions like the steam pokeball we saw

Super excited to get my hands on the DP remakes. I’ve had so many great memories with Gen 4 and I love that they’re bringing back its artstyle. Everything about this game looks great and I love how faithful it’s going to be to the original. I really hope this means the Dexit days are officially over, because I’ve seen so many missing faces.
I'm so excited as well! I dont think theyre going to include anything past gen 4, but I guess we have to wait and see!
I honestly hope they do because they already have possession of all the 3D models of Pokémon they designed. All they need to do is up the resolution and program them into the game. Even if we aren’t at that point yet though, this is still a step in the right direction. Also, about time we’ve finally gotten a Pokémon game that looks better than Pokémon Battle Revolution. Couldn’t be more excited about New Pokémon Snap. Legends Arceus looks like it’s going to be super groundbreaking too.

I'm so hype for Pokemon Legends. DP remakes, while the overworld sprites are divisive, will most definitely age better than Sword and Shield. Pokemon Pearl was the first game I ever saved up and EARNED with my own money, so of course I'll defend it
I’m the same way!! It was the first game I purchased myself. It means so much to me, so I’m very excited for the remakes, I am a little worried about how they look as of now though hah
I love the artstyle from what I've seen so far. I think people will grow to love these remakes

Remakes taking on a more stylized look than striving (and failing) for realism is very good news.
I quite like seeing another studio working with it. If they just stick to what the originals did and bring in the improvements made in Platinum (except them nerfing Cynthia, we need her to stomp us into the ground) they should be able to make a competent game without needing oversight from GF.
And I do like Game Freak taking on this weird new game project, because stepping outside of their comfort zone might be a very valuable experience for them. I suspect the very mixed reactions Sword and Shield garnered can be attributed to Game Freak having grown stagnant reusing the same formula. Little Town Hero, an entirely different Game Freak game from Pokémon was very good, albeit a bit short so I very much think that when Game Freak try their hands at something new, they can make amazing results.

You should've seen my face when I saw Oshawott, I screamed lol. Samurott is my favourite Pokemon and I'm so excited to explore with them again!
Although I really preferred character customization (it doesn’t look like that will be the case) and I really liked sword and shield graphics more than the remakes’ styles, I’m still cool with the chibi style. As long as they add a lot of postgame content I’ll be happy

(EDIT: to be clear, I was just as confused in that moment, it's just that looking back at it after digesting it it actually makes perfect sense, not just each of the starters inspirations thematically, but also in the context of this being a game where Sinnoh is unexplored and you're the one creating a Sinnohdex, which includes the traditional Sinnoh starters)

I love that my three favourite starters are the legends starter. I'll definitely be playing it multiple times. I also love game lore so I'm more hyped for legends. Sinnoh is my second favourite region after unova though so I'm still very excited for the remakes

I can give some speculation on the Legends: Arceus starters. Since this is supposed to take place in the past, they're supposed to represent the Samurai (Samurott) the Archer (Decidueye) and the Warrior (Typhlosion, although I might be spitballing with this one)

Typhlosion is meant to represent gun powder. Swords, Bow and Arrows, and Gunpowder were all important parts of feudal Japan.

I think they are gonna be in development more to fix things, Like how they did sword and shield.
I remember the first trailer they released wasn't too amazing graphics wise. Like the catching moment with the Pokeball looked copy and pasted into the frame. So when we saw other trailers during the summer things like that were better
this year hopefully will fly by and we will probably get more info and updates by June or something showing off the game's improvements.

I am very glad that you and Alex like how Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl look. I am so confused and annoyed at the part of the community who expected them to look like Sword and Shield. It’s so much better to keep it looking as good as it did before! (Though OrAs would’ve been a better game to go off of, admittedly)

I honestly am happy with the starters for Legends Arceus. The meaning is pretty cool: The Samurai, The Archer and the Honey Badger. 2 main fighters and the known animal in Feudal Japan

Ppl are complaining about it not looking like a switch game. Even though many switch games aren't open world.
Ive seen some complain about the graphics of the remakes and im assuming that its not final. They still have months of development left. The graphics can improve. But i personally don't have a problem with what I saw.

I don't know why they didn't say it would September 28th for the remakes. Since that is when the originals came out and HGSS and ORAS came out the same day as the original Japanese date.
