No. for black powder or substitutes, you need water or a water based solvent. Personally, I use water with some dish soap, rinse, swab with "Moose Milk", then end with pure Ballistol for storing. Just be sure to swab out before shooting again.
i thought this video was about muzzle loaders not bolt action. I know about the smokeless powder i wanted to know about black powder. Good video though
