What is mlm?
It stands for "multi-level marketing". So those companies like Mary Kay or Arbonne or Beachbody etc where the consultants harass you to join their team or buy their products. Most are different variations of a pyramid scheme and just not an ethical or worthwhile business format to get involved in (in my and others opinions) @BBB CCC

Omg I became a VIP about a month ago and since I’m overseas on a military base I can’t become a market partner, but I was sooo adamant that when I moved back to the states I would join as an MP but now I’m second guessing it. I love their products so I’ll probably just stay a VIP.
I was an partner with Monat DONT DO IT! The products are good, I still use them myself, but you must get sucked into the fantasy instead of the reality of what it all is. Multi level marketing or what many refer to as a pyramid scheme, like Beach Body or Lularoe. You get pushed to recruit new “consultants” because you get compensated in some way on whatever money the people you recruit make (usually it’s a percentage). So the further up on the pyramid you are (the more people you have under you) the more money you make.

I love that you’re bringing awareness towards MLM. I have been looking for a job for the past two months, I’m an international student in Florida and I need a job to be able to stay in the country. I got so many interviews and job offers, and I did my research before accepting anything because the interviews themselves were sketchy. After reading a little bit about the company, I found out that they were a MLM and I was so frustrated... I can’t be involved in anything illegal or sketchy, and it’s so tiring at this point. I need a job but all these job opportunities feel sketchy...

True crime junkie here. I call what you described as needing a “palette cleanse” sometimes. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts, and sometimes after I finish a particularly difficult one, I just need to listen to happy non-crime stuff to reset.

One of my friends fell for the MLM pitch and joined one and now she's struggling really bad and has been doing it for years and she doesn't know what else to do because it's been so long. She constantly spams people and although I love her, it drives me crazy and I've talked to her about getting out. The MLM community is insane and needs help 🤷🏻♀️

I’ve had a few encounters with MLMs myself. I feel like there’s definitely something sketchy when some feel the need to harass others. Plus it isn’t logical to constantly need more and more people under your “network”. You’d eventually run out of people?!!!!

Exactly. As a nutritionist I was approached by Amway, Herbalife and Usana for so many times and every time I said no. It seems like they can't accept NO as an answer. The sad thing is I run my own small nutrition business and I carry some really good practitioner-grade supplements (definitely not MLM lol), and people around me are more interested in those MLM products because they believe that those brands are bigger and more well-known so they must be good 😏 I don't really comment on here but now I love Kathleen even more for speaking about this topic!

My mom still uses those triangle-shaped sponges for her foundation. I gave her a beauty blender and showed her how to use it and she still went back to them! T_T
In Spanish we call them baby cheeses "quesitos" cause they looked like cheese portions.
I keep a pack of makeup wedges in my kit to help smooth out foundation after using a brush or helping to clean up the eye area. It’s so much more sanitary than a blender. I personally would rather pay my foundation and concealer in with my fingers than a beauty blender. I like the finish more and even though I’ll occasionally use a beauty blender they really kinda freak me out. I just think of bacteria. I’m a weirdo that can’t get it out of my mind. 🤦🏻♀️

I didn’t even know she was a military spouse lol. And tbh, as a mil spouse myself, it’s the last thing I’d want to talk about. I’m so proud of my husband, but there are so many negatives in the military that it’s just a constant annoyance. I’m glad she opts not to bring it up in her videos. So glad she’s not a dependa 🙌🏻

I just love how kind and full of caring Kathleen is anytime I watch her videos. Her energy is so optimistic. No matter what happens around this makeup community. MLM are so intriguing! Anyone I knew who was part of a MLM or still a member actually enjoyed it but I’ve seen so many videos exposing MLMs or horror stores. I’ve been pitched two different MLM companies by members and I’ve said no to both. The whole idea of how MLM came to be is something I would love to learn more about!
