Fr. Mike, you truly have a gift of bringing specific facts together that are essential for us to know & to be lead by; ie, when one is hurting, we are all hurting..when one is jubilant in their connection with God, then we can all reap those same rewards! Excellent! Another thing I wanted to share is that when I used to work for my family business of designing monuments, my assigned parking space was in front of a double headstone on a platform which read: 'I am the vine, you are my branches' John 15:5 Each & every day, I would take a moment to read that scripture, take a breath, cross myself, then park my car & go into work after having just attended 9a Mass at St. Anthony's! I always thought that the Spiritual Journey was a lonely road. Because I don’t really know anyone personally going through this same journey. But today I learned I’m not really alone.
Yes, so many at Sunday Mass are not struggling under the cross as are others. This is no reason to slough off our cross to try to fit in. Rather, it is worth looking a little odd and be true to our calling than conforming to the group and losing our soul. You never know who may profit from your example. You never know who may be inspired to take their religion more seriously and pursue holiness.
@@rhwinner Thank you! Your comment means a lot to me. At school, I was always the odd one, so I didn't really fit in. I guess God wired me that way and it's helpful!

@Theresa H - Praise be to the Blessed Trinity and Thanks to Fr. Mike, who is doing a wonderful job explaining it so well. I refuse my intellect to govern my thinking. Just pray that my simple mind can understand the dogma well.
Yesterday, at Eucharistic Adoration, I prayed for all of us. I prayed for God to redeem us from our sins, and to comfort and open our hearts to Him. Not only Christians. but humanity. I think it was the first time I actually - wholeheartedly - prayed for everyone because so far I kind of prayed for God to open my own heart to Him, which as important as it is, is also selfish. Yet, I never felt God closer to me than I did yesterday. I was so immersed in my prayer that when the priest passed close by with the Eucharist I wouldn't have seen it if it wasn't for his clothes touching my skin. I "woke up" from my prayer feeling touched by God Himself as if that was what He wanted from and for me, and from and for all of us. Each day I'm more certain that we do belong to each other and I'm so grateful to you, Fr. Mike, and everyone from Ascension for touching me and so many hearts out there in the name of Jesus Christ! I'm so grateful for everyone who's going through this Catechism and praying for us all! I feel blessed and I hope you all do too.

Day 111 There is an incredible gift about being part of the Body of Christ, but there is also a responsibility. When one member suffers, we all suffer and when one member is glorified, we are all glorified There is no such thing as private sin. *Even if my sin is never discovered by anyone else, my sin wounds me. And since I belong to the Body of Christ, my personal sin hurts me, my family and the Church* . It hurts all those whom we love and those we don't even know At the same time, there is no private virtue. My virtue, my struggle for virtue, my showing up for prayer and doing what the Lord asks of me , strengthens you. Even if you never know about it, it strengthens you This is an incredible mystery *if we anytime feel like I'm slogging away in this battle against and for what?.... Then Thank you... because it strengthens me and you are fighting for me* Man......
Lanston thank you so much for your quotes of our Fr Mike. I'm always looking out for them. Really appreciate you taking the time. It great to read them immediately after the video. God bless you and yours 🙏🏻
Pray for the persecuted Church. Look up and pray to recent martyr Deborah Samuel, a beautiful college student who was dragged out of her school in NW Nigeria, stoned to death and burned because she posted online, "Jesus Christ is the greatest. He helped me pass my exams." God forgive us for doing so little to help the persecuted Church. 😔🙏
I actually read about her shortly ago. I suspect that there's a lot that's under-reported, but it will all be disclosed at the end. I should do more, but we are limited and must accept our need for sleep, the need to work, many have families to support, if not taxes to pay, all of which we ought to be grateful. In our limitations, the best most of us can do is pray, trust, and hope in God. May God grant courage and consolation who are unjustly treated to the point of death, joining the ranks of martyrs from centuries past to be united with the Martyr of martyrs and King of kings, Jesus Christ. May He grant us more holy inspirations to pray for them. Amen.
Church ecclesiology is what most attracted me to the Church when I converted in the 80's. It's most impressive quality is how coherent it is with the rest of it's beliefs and not, as with some other traditions, just tacked on like a 'tail on the donkey.'
I'm a convert; who was surprised; because: I was taught the devil is in the doctrine; and to step foot in a cathedral was terrifying for me. I started out in a cozy, small, chapel. That Church sold to another Catholic church brand. I go hike to another hill. My foot is lame; healing itself.
I came into the Church in 2014. The coherence & sacraments drew me. I read the Catechism while caring for my terminally ill mother. 😔❤️ Fell in love with the Church🙏❤️
I came back home in 2011, after going to confession after 25 years and encountering the Real Presence. Also, after reading "The Life of Christ and Biblical Revelations" by Anne Catherine Emmerich.
I love BIAY!!! Good bless and protect all here 😢 beauty lesson and yes huge responsibility for every one. I love you Lord ❤ we belong to each other. S beings belonging to the body of Christ. My personal sin hurts me but also hurts the body of Christ. Our lives matter. Thank you for praying for one another. It is when we pray for one another that we lift up all, the Body Of Christ. I like that. 😊
Thanks, Father Mike! While there aren't any spiritual differences between the members of the Church, there are physical and mental differences. I pray that all come to know the Triune. Happy birthday to the man born on April 20th. He was right about the enemies of Christ that he called out.
Many things brought me into the Church, but, like I’ve said before, reading the Catechism started me on the journey. Another BIG doctrine that brought me in was that of the Real Presence in the Eucharist.🙏❤️As a Protestant I always felt that Christ’s promise that He would be with us until the end of the age was amorphous & ephemeral; it was something you accepted spiritually, but not actually. Until I read about the Real Presence & started understanding the Catholic view. I saw a Eucharistic procession on EWTN & recognized that they were WORSHIPING a piece of bread! Everything in me screamed IDOLATRY!!! I was very surprised at my visceral reaction. Instead of denying Catholicism I went & talked to a priest about it, to understand what they were doing. First the priest affirmed my reaction; if it was just a piece of bread then it was idolatry. But he then explained the Real Presence & walked me through John 6. I was flabbergasted! In my 57 years as a Christian my eyes had been closed to that truth. John was my favorite Gospel & I’d never seen it. I can tell you the foundation of my faith was completely rocked, but I became open to the Truths of the Catholic faith. God’s ways are mysterious & wonderful.🙏❤️Christ is really & truly with us in a tangible way.🙏❤️
Theresa, I love this so much! I have often wondered what a Protestant would think about adoration (in particular a Benediction and Exposition Holy Hour)... I have one person in mind that I would love to casually invite someday, yet.... I am a little worried the entire scene would appear way too idolatrous in her own mind! Good for you for talking to that priest! Wow!
@@sharonmiller9100 Yes, without understanding the Real Presence it looks like idolatry. Unfortunately many Protestants would not be open to finding out the truth of the Catholic belief. 🤦♀️🤷♀️ Fr. TJ was a relatively new priest (2 years), but he handled it perfectly. And now, 13 years later, he’s back as our pastor.❤️🙏❤️

I am praying for everyone. Thank you for praying for me. God bless everyone
Day 111
There is an incredible gift about being part of the Body of Christ, but there is also a responsibility. When one member suffers, we all suffer and when one member is glorified, we are all glorified
There is no such thing as private sin. *Even if my sin is never discovered by anyone else, my sin wounds me. And since I belong to the Body of Christ, my personal sin hurts me, my family and the Church* . It hurts all those whom we love and those we don't even know
At the same time, there is no private virtue. My virtue, my struggle for virtue, my showing up for prayer and doing what the Lord asks of me , strengthens you. Even if you never know about it, it strengthens you
This is an incredible mystery
*if we anytime feel like I'm slogging away in this battle against and for what?.... Then Thank you... because it strengthens me and you are fighting for me*
Man......
Lanston thank you so much for your quotes of our Fr Mike. I'm always looking out for them. Really appreciate you taking the time. It great to read them immediately after the video. God bless you and yours 🙏🏻
@@This-isGirl oh wow. Praise God 😊✝️
I pray I never sin again… but that will last maybe 5 seconds. I NEVER want to hurt anyone because of my bad choices! I’m sorry everyone! Forgive me!
Amen.
What’s going on in Nigeria is heartbreaking 💔 I always try to remember them in particular 🙏❤️
All Church doctrine is coherent and holy, because all Church doctrine comes from Jesus.
Amen
Day111. May God be praised 🙏
DiA 111 🎉🎉🎉

I love BIAY!!! Good bless and protect all here 😢 beauty lesson and yes huge responsibility for every one. I love you Lord ❤ we belong to each other. S beings belonging to the body of Christ. My personal sin hurts me but also hurts the body of Christ. Our lives matter. Thank you for praying for one another. It is when we pray for one another that we lift up all, the Body Of Christ. I like that. 😊
I never tire of you and your love for our SAVIOR AMEN
Thanks, Father Mike! While there aren't any spiritual differences between the members of the Church, there are physical and mental differences. I pray that all come to know the Triune.
Happy birthday to the man born on April 20th. He was right about the enemies of Christ that he called out.
🙏
It is amazing how many people divorce and remarry these days and they don't seem to realize it is a sin.
thank you Fr. Mike, praying for all.
Thank you Father
Must be hard for those protestants to love the church....it's hard for even Catholics....pray for all listeners 🙏
Wow Fr. Mike towards the end this session sounded like my CCD class this week. I even mentioned the Borg - I don't think they had ever heard of them 😇
amen
Fr. TJ was a relatively new priest (2 years), but he handled it perfectly. And now, 13 years later, he’s back as our pastor.❤️🙏❤️
" There is no such thing as private sin"! My prayer is that.... The culture in which we live comes to realize this.
That's a prayer to move a mountain of unbelief. May God enable us to pray well.
