My grandfather served in the British South Africa Police. My other folks were police reservists. This country produced some of the greatest souls who ever lived. To this day, we have the most spectacular wildlife, stunning natural beauty and kind, generous people. Bloody proud of this, my country.

@@antoiner.5770 I think this is Serbian Cyrillic, or perhaps North Macedonian Cyrillic. I say that because it is the most phonetically consistent and I see a 'j' which is unique to those versions. This type of cyrillic is so phonetic you can actually express English reasonably well once you know which sound each letter makes. My Serbian friend and I used to use this 'English Cyrillic' to communicate as a joke, took me less than a day to understand the alphabet, ofc once they start using actual words in their language my pronunciation plummets. Until now I never experienced it unexpectedly, I always try to read Cyrillic, by third word I went from "That seems an odd way to start a Serbian sentence" to "Holy crap that's English!".

As a child, it was a great country to be in and very prosperous. Discrimination from my recollection, is like any other country. Unfortunately, it was the time of being a Christian Westerner or a commie sympathiser. Most of Africa chose USSR backing including those who wanted black independence through force. The loser is always the population and today, Zimbabwe takes after the famous Zimbabwe ruins. The country has gone back to the days when Cecil John Rhodes got involved.
