Rhodesia definitely had its problems, and the internal settlement of 1979 should have been negotiated far before, but goodness it was better than the current sorry state of Zimbabwe An interesting piece of history, is that the Albanian Royal Family, who were living in exile following their ousting from Albania by Mussolini’s Italy in 1939, lived in Rhodesia during the 1960s and 70s, and in fact maintained a significant armed Royal Guard unit consisting of exiled Albanian royalists. The Royal Guard, under the command of King Leka I, cooperated with the Rhodesian armed forces in fighting against the ZANU-PF during the Bush war.
As an Italian and royalist loving history (a friend of mine had a photo with the current crown prince of Albania, he was VERY tall) l find these informations very interesting.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA F*CKING BELGIAN
This song is so Christian that if you replaced 'Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia' with 'Rise, O Gracious, Mighty Jesus' it becomes a fully-fledged church song.
Yeah but there's already a church song with this melody
The melody is Beethoven's 9th, better known as Ode to Joy.
HAPPY 56. INDEPENDENCE DAY, RHODESIA ♡ !!!
"Ode to Joy". Very beautiful and inspiring to hear it sung as an anthem. Rhodesia was a great country. The British Empire's gift to Africa. I remember it's success, and it's fall. The communist guerrillas could never have won,. Rhodesia was betrayed by its friends. The worst enemy Rhodesia ever had was Jimmy Carter; "Jimmy the Dhimmi".
The USA should've been the close friend of Rhodesia, instead, they sacrificed the people to their political vision. Carter was a terrible president for America, but he was far worse for Rhodesia, and many another country.
All it's known for is segregation and minority rule. You people act like it was some heroic story and example to the world.
I would prefer a communist rule that ends the segregation than capitalist but segregated, that's no different between Rhodesia and other countries who violated human rights
@@rakhalandika9132 honestly best case scenario for Zimbabwe was Joshua Nkomo becoming the leader (a georgist) rather than Marxist Mugabe who ruined the country
even the ZANU-Ian Smith Cooperation Government that was elected in 1979 would've been better
You say this as if Rhodesia wasn't a racist state that was friends with Apartheid South Africa and Fascist Portugal.
How did carter betray them
Beautiful national anthem.

Rhodesia was a beacon of hope in the African continent, sad that because of neighboring countries communism it all had to end.

Nostalgia for the greatness of Africa without communism! 🙏
Joseph always crying about great replacement XD
Not even communist but whatever. Keep crying about some company-owned land that masqueraded as a country before it folded ignominiously.
Joseph the delusional anglo-nazi!
Rhodesia, how we miss you
This makes me a proud Rhodesian till i die

Can you do Rhodesian Never Die?
Rise O voices of Rhodesia,
God may we Thy bounty share.
Give us strength to face all danger,
and where challenge is, to dare.
Guide us, Lord, to wise decision,
ever of Thy grace aware,
oh, let our hearts beat bravely always
For this land within Thy care.
Rise, O voices of Rhodesia,
bringing her your proud acclaim,
grandly echoing through the mountains,
rolling o'er the far flung plain.
Roaring in the mighty rivers,
joining in one grand refrain,
Ascending to the sunlit heavens,
Telling of her honoured name.
Ode to joy was a pretty absurd choice in my opinion.
May she be worthy of that name.
Rise, O voices of Rhodesia,

Everyone loves a bit of Rhodesian music! Thanks Duke!
I played this in Zimbabwe, now its became Rhodesia again.
RIP Ian Smith.
God bless all Rhodesians.
As a Texan it truly is a damn shame to see stories of countries with great future potential fall because of exterior incompetence.
It's a blessing to have been an independent country and even more to be under the protection of the stars and stripes, but it feels like our curse is guilt.
The masculine urge to share nationalism with those of whom you have never met rises when you are in the territory once of a country that was fighting for its life.
Instead of groveling and bowing over for bringing civilisation to Africa (except the Belgians) The West should apologise to their fellow Whites for abandoning them in their time of need. The West should never be forgiven for letting such a beautiful land become what it is today
Great Song Duke !!
Respect from Russia !!🇷🇺
yeah Roki :-)
Love your music.
So you want to start a fire on the Balkans?

This is so good!
Wow the lyrics is so patriotic
Basically the Hymn of Joy from Beethoven's 9th symphony.
Revive Rhodesia
Amazing 😍
A truly Great leader whose memory should live forever.
In Rhodesia, a loaf of bread cost you about 10 cents.
In Zimbabwe, a loaf, eh, slice, no, crumb of bread cost you the entire gdp of the United States and China combined.
Zimbabwe is for Zimbabweans and nobody else!
God bless Rhodesia 🙏 🇿🇼🇬🇧
To all those who miss the time of apartheid: there is a reason why an oppressed people ruins everything when given freedom
