The spiral energy use was mentioned in our Kung Fu Report episode #191 (👉 • Can you really DEFEND ... ), and we briefly spoke about motions in circles, spirals, and curves forms, and different training of it. Today, Cris and I will get to demonstrate to you the spiral force use concept and how to apply it to your daily Wing Chun training.
I'd like to invite you to pay a visit to my website and take a free class and join me on one of my Wing Chun Training Programs so you can go deeper on this and many other Kung Fu & Wing Chun advanced techniques.👇

Lol
Try there so.
I'd you learn how to catch them with the sharp parts of your arm yes very effective. Otherwise the biggest difference is using your bodyweight to torque causing a stronger movement. I can promise any normal person no matter how trained all cave to pain in the right areas
Not if you nullify it by putting your tongue on the roof of your mouth.
@@tristintaylor7999 pain can be turned off through drugs alcohol or sheer toughness compliance through pain techniques are weak unless they snap something or cut of oxygen. Plus as you said you have to find the right place on a person... average fight lasts 2-5 seconds. The point is an educated boxer wont pick a fight. This is self defense on the fly and it works.

Wing Chun is a good theoretical concept of elbow/hip But fighting is fluid on all levels WC fails in sparring against all round fighter. Bruce Lee knew this. Having taught WC now believe it's a concept that should be taught quickly. 3 years max. Don't waste years learning a bong sau etc techniques that have limited use in fighting. Absorb what is useful discard the rest and get skilled at bjj wrestling boxing etc. WC is too cerebral for sparring. It works in a stand up fight but only if adapted to suit yourself. It's futile trying to copy an instructor. Everyone's WC concept has to be incorporated into their own unique fighting style. WC isn't a style it's a concept. And an incomplete one
I say why bother fighting them with your fists in the first place as where I live you are always Outnumbered they are cowards that will not fight one-on-one so you have to use a more deadly tactic which doesn't sit well with me but so be it when I was growing up and man stood and fought another man without weapons I don't know what as happening to people today as car loads of people will just pull up jump out and beat you half to death I call these people subhuman gutless cowards where have all the real men gone why do they do such things I think the best thing you should do when they pull up is run for your life as they cannot run very far one will never break in front of the Pack because he knows you all turn around and he knows it cannot handle that what a life
The trick here, different from many Wing Chun lessons here on RUclips is that he's using that Bong Sao and Wu Sao to the outside gate of the attacker. That's practical and effective Wing Chun.

And then did a bit of wing Chung
There was also shaolin fighters there
One point I will make is they don’t exchange shots they don’t spar
This is critical I saw one guy get tagged a bit in a drill accidentally and he did not know how to react
A boxer does
Ok a normal untrained man or women might not know how to react either but boxers are conditioned
A strong box fighter would walk through some of this stuff
Any ways just the way I look at it and not trying to say I know everything but I can throw many punches with a lot less effort and more power than the wing Chung punches
And if I want I got a head and elbows and knees I can get in also
Sometimes I don’t like it when people say boxing is a sport yes it is but with no gloves on it’s not
Try that on a non compliant partner and see what happens!? 🙄

Most comments I see r saying block like that won't work. The man is simply showing an example, take what you can from it, don't have to do exactly what he does in every fight. Just take just the elbow movement by itself without following up with the slap it'll still work, apply that with your boxing or whatever other martial you do.
WC isn't a fighting style its a concept of elbow/wrist essentially Fighting is fluid on all levels. WC fails at sparring becasue people interpret & try to spar with it literally. Don't waste years learning a bong sau etc instead practice MMA. When I taught WC I used to incorporate other styles and people would criticize trying to prove WC would beat everything. That's nonsense. You cant WC your way out of a rear naked choke boxers punch flurrys or ground & pound. WC works in a stand up brawl but against crafty fighters who know how to move forget it. Bruce Lee knew this. WC is a concept that should be taught quickly 3 years max complete system. Any longer is frankly a waste of time. Absorb what's useful discard the rest. Bruce Lee discovered MMA years ago the world just wasn't ready to absorb it. Therefor in some regard WC is the mother of MMA. But it isn't a style and it isn't effective in a fight without a fighters own interpretation of the concepts expressed through other styles better suited to proper sparring
For this to work, sticking and twisting force implied. In Taijiquan this power is generated from the feet, travels through the legs, controlled by waist, multiplied through the back, circulate through the arms and expressed through the hands and fingers. Every bendable appendage is a potential power reserve. From the feet to the fingers.
This stuff is cool but after seeing that MMA fighter shit on wing Chung...all those moves go out the window 😂
Bruce Lee's base was Wing Chun. Wing Chun has some fantastic principles and can make an excellent base for anyone seeking to be primarily a striker. You just have to do what Bruce did and strip away all the inessential's & take only that which is most effective and mix in Western Boxing & Muay Thai. But the stances, motion, flow, redirection, balance and ability to generate great power in short distances of Wing Chun can be amazing benefits added to any strikers arsenal.
@@nonyabusiness6084 Did Bruce Lee actually have any real combat competition?
@@joebeamish There are some very credible actors like James Coburn who have said they seen him fight. Doesn't really matter if he did or not. All one need do is simply read the Tao of Jeet Kune Do and have a look at the date it was written to understand he created modern MMA. The fact the man was that far ahead of everyone else suggests to me that he would have whipped most people's ass at that time. Guys, MMA is called that for a reason, so don’t diss Wing Chun, it might not look like it but there are many moves in traditional martial arts that evolved and was absorbed into MMA. Some of your MMA gung-ho heroes probably started off in Wing Chun or other. Some didn’t they took a short cut and just came into MMA with little knowledge, but how to scrap in an 8 sided ring with little respect for the huge contributions of traditional martial arts to MMA.

Wing chun is a women's art developed for self defense when you are weaker than the opponent, no disrespect but what I mean is without the eye gouging, nut kicking, and throat strikes, it takes a lot out of the martial art.
I'm training in this this is alot easier to learn if you have no other training I did mma I got to unlearn alot of stuff my muscle memory is totally set toward kickboxing strikes but that vertical elbow holds so much more power than these wide boxing style seriously
Love seeing all the "i only see red" and MMA meat heads in the comments. You only don't see value here if you have no idea how to fight.
Remember folks 80% of contemporary real world fights...Happen in the RUclips comment section...Where this particular technique will be ineffective as your opponent will be coming at you from various angles and will keep coming no matter how much you strike, block, or parry.

So this teacher looks and acts very credible. And he might be. But many of the comments are true that a good boxer will likely defeat a common WC practitioner. The reason is that only about 20% WC schools actually perform true 100% sparring. The rest do “sticky hands” and zero 100% sparring. Can it work to defeat a boxer? Yes. But only with actual WC battle hardened fighters not some jokers that you often see on RUclips being demolished. Watch this video and learn. ruclips.net/video/rVuNDVgnBvE/видео.html

“Absorb what is useful. Discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own.”
- Bruce Lee
Now days most of the people misunderstand the idea of origin of different styles of kung Fu. Kung Fu was not create to fight in the cage with opponent who knows other martial art. It was self defense art which mean you protect yourself from unexpected problem "on the street" . So even many Kung Fu or for example aikido trying to fight with professional MMA fighters or other style. Useless because sooner or later the fight goes into a boxing or goes down to the floor. MMA or boxing compare to for example to aikido like pistol compare to knife. We don't fight someone with a pistol when we hold a knife. But! there are some self defense situations when knife is much better than a pistol. Similar situation is with Wing Chun ( whatever way we spell it). Of course in the cage is mostly useless but what about airplane when there is not much space to protect yourself? That style is really extremely good. Aikido is useless? Yes , in the " cage" but if you have a problem with someone and you don't want to kick or punch him because it can damage his body.... aikido is welcome in such a situation. That is what I think. All depends why you want to exercise martial art. Want to be UFC winner, my advice is to go to MMA ,you thinking about being policeman try judo, aikido and so on.
Lets see some vids of you actually sparring instead of always this "if i do this and he does that" nonsense.
The problem is getting the timing with bunches in bunches
That has always been a “problem” - as you put it, with combat .,, regardless of a system/style . That is why it take time-in-training.
I think the message here is this "might" help and increase your chances of defending yourself against your average regular guy who wants to fight. 9/10 people arent at the point of actually wanting to fight, and what I mean by that is alot of people rather tell at you from the comfort of the inside of their vehicle with no intention of actually ever fighting. If you're as solid as this guy is (the asian demonstrator)(which is only more than average as I'm sure he does some kind of exercises of some kind) than he stands a great chance at overcoming a fighting assailant of this other guys caliber. With that being said, hes not demonstrating this fighting a trained professional, let alone of the UFC caliber professional. So no. This would be effectively DESTROYED by a trained professional but let's be realistic. If you're picking a fight with a professional fighter, you weren't going to win no matter what you tried. You were stupid for trying. Chances are a trained professional fighter would not be initiating a fight with you forcing you to defend yourself so the scenario of you defending yourself using this against a "UFC fighter" is already non realistic to start with. They wont throw away their 6 figures for a chance to beat you up unless you're absolutely asking for it. If performed at his caliber and bodyforce, it would be very effective against some random guy. It would at the least give you up some upper hand. Generally if you're defending yourself you are not concerned about lethality so tbh I'd be performing this and striking for the throat.
Now fight somebody! Always a bs demonstration never a real fight.
Been a huge fan of wing chun for its visual artistic approach. I’ve also been an mma fighter and learned fast my years of tai Kwon do would be shut down by good wrestling, shoot fighting and jiujitsu and though I could kick someone’s head off , it was much harder to gain contact with these hybrid fighters. Fact is Wing Chun was designed for the smaller framed shorter fighters.
It simply doesn’t work against many other styles and much larger opponents, with those skills.
Kung Fu is the most beautiful style imo having trained in fatal flute and fighting staff (weapons style) I really appreciate the arts and have tried to incorporate it into mma but it’s hard to do if you want to win.
Nowadays the best fighting is wrestling with ground and pound and jiujitsu imo.
But wing chun works when your kicked in the balls and that’s something right there.
I’m getting a workout in tonight!
You can't show a fighting technique without a thousand nobody's saying "but in the street, but in the ring, but, but"... But the reality is, there is an application, like all strikes, given an opportunity. To just conjecture and say, wing Chun is invalid period shows that you are a spectator who thinks of fighting as black and white. Please stop expecting every instructor to scrap with an assistant in order to instruct a method. That's dumb.
The sifu makes sense but it only applies if the attacker is punching in that fashion. I don't think it would work for straight jabs, crosses, hooks or upper cuts. Wing Chun does work but under certain conditions as Bruce states. That's why he made JDK.
nothing that one Xu xiodong face punch cannot solve
This guy is average. There are Martial Artists out there,Men and Women that would trash any Boxer, break their bones, in a matter of seconds. Ever heard of Muay Thai ?.
A lot of Bone Breaking 😛😛😛😛
I don't think wing chun is efficient. I trained wing chun when I was younger. Then I trained boxing. Boxinf is much much more effective and simple. But some techniques in wing chun are also practical like this one. And yes it can work for someone who doesn't know anything.
Lol! He could try all day and not move me an inch, and I only weigh 198lbs. The laws of physics simply do not work that way. Weight advantages of that extreme aren't overcome that easily.
i could see some tai chi force there.. you're showing good examples.
This is effective, but some people are knocking it. Basically it’s not the only move you use to counter the strike. You don’t just do that then stop there. There’s more flow & more counter moves to strike the big guy and get him on the ground. If the martial artist hit him with a flow of hard & fast moves the big guy wouldn’t come back for a second crack unless he had rocks in his head & wanted some broken teeth. Wing Chun is definitely a very useful martial art and with its delivery alone can make someone not want to fight you anymore as it looks menacing when used with good technique & timing.
I've always wanted to learn WING CHUN, I love MR.Bruce Lee 😎
Why do you think Bruce out grew the style it’s flawed he just took the best parts
It would work on non believer's as an act..most definitely. Whether it would work with both reading each others motions and responding .. That's another story..
Can't watch any martial arts anymore without stumbling into crowds of MMA bullshit comments.
Funny thing is most of those comments come from couch potatoes who watched Conor McGragor once 😐
People are missing the point. This isn't like some real time sparring demonstration, he's explaining the physics. This isnt even like some mystical pressure point bs, it's just how to parry. Y'all took too many shots to the head.
The response is obvious as this poor guy is just being helpful. So many people I know or knew suffered from the innability of the trainer inflicting abuse on it's unwitting student.
Multiple Vectors of Force being shown here really well, even if the description of what's happening isn't done very well
His needs more structure! Moving weight by attack the foundation has nothing to do with how much a person weigh or power it only feels that way because you feel empowered as your taking someone using basic footwork
I don't doubt t his expertise, but he's a bit of a masochist slapping 😜 his own arm EVERY time he throws a punch.👹

That’s 240 🧐 I always thought 240 would be a little bit imposing ..but he might be ..df I know 🥳
The thing is... you dont really punch like he does and you don't stand that close if you are fighting properly.
So it is cool, but it is hyper specifik to be used against a move that no one really does
With respect, it's all well and good, but you're conditioned through training from a little tacker, someone like me would struggle.
I think a Kamehameha is more effective than this style.
