- The XFL is back, again. For the third time, actually, but maybe this time it sticks around. The league initially launched as a spring football league back in 2001 and then again in 2020 that ended up being a shortened attempt because of COVID. Now, it’s owned by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his, uh, ex-wife, Dany Garcia. The league kicks off in February and it’s really going to start getting rolling here soon constructing rosters. In November, the league will assign all eight teams two quarterbacks and that will be followed by a draft. That leaves us with what we do know right now: the eight teams, their names, logos, stadiums, and coaches.

No seriously this dude acts in 4-7 movies a year(not counting guest appearances), owns and helps market several companies, and now he's the owner of an American football league.
Yeah, you gotta get adequate sleep to gain and maintain muscle. I'm sure he has lots of managers, accountants, secretaries, and other people working under him to help.

He's not the sole owner. They just gave him stock in exchange for being able to use his image and likeness to promote the league.

The XFL missed a golden opportunity to bring football teams to states that don't have NFL teams( or very good NFL teams). This market would have been very valuable and completely untapped.
I agree especially with majority of the teams being in Texas. I’m like yes it’s a football pool here but you need football teams in Alabama or Kentucky or Mississippi those are strong football states but don’t have professional teams. And could benefit from those powerhouse universities. I’m in Texas and it’s UT, Texas AM, Houston Texans, and of course them Cowboys. And it’s university heavy here. Hopefully it’s has success to expand to those states that could benefit from XFL even more. But I see the business play and reasoning.
@@missklassikiya I see what you mean but those teams being in Alabama would damn near be impossible to compete with teams like uofa and auburn same with Mississippi having ole miss and Mississippi state. Now In a place like Oklahoma,Jersey, and maybe one other would be better

I'm sure it's been mentioned but one of Dwayne Johnson's nicknames in WWE was the "Brahma Bull", pretty sure this is why that team is named that.
I think you might have D’wayne Johnson confused with The Rock. They look alike. Them and LL Cool J could be twins.

I’m glad the XFL is back, but man did they make a lot of changes that I believe didn’t need to happen - particularly the uniforms, logos, and names.

Here's an Idea 💡.... hook up with the USFL have the 8 USFL play each other get a winner... have the XFL play each other and get a winner... and then have those 2 teams meet each other ... at any small town arena or convention center that let's them and call it the... YOUR MAKING ME WATCH THIS BOWL.
Why would the XFL want to work with the league that's trying to be a nfl wannabe when the XFL wants to be it's own thing
Or maybe get some NFL teams to play for the league during the spring??
Or work with the CFL to create a much larger league which could end up being a big farm league for the NFL.
@@DetroitTyler your idea of a "huge farm league" will turn away the CFL and XFL as they don't want to be a farm league to the nfl. The usfl wants to be the farm league but the nfl also doesn't want a farm/minor league, like how the NHL has the AHL, because their "farm league" is college players

Give them chance first and see how it goes especially they can go long if wasn't Covid disturb them and new ownership do love and care about XFL

Don't know much about football, but on general principle, I support the XFL's existence. The NFL needs serious competition, and this could be it if they play their cards right.

My personal take is that I hope to see that the XFL is able to rival the NFL in terms of revenue so players can be making million dollar contracts, I don’t want the XFL just to be a stepping stone to the NFL or have washed out NFL players, I hope to see a day where the XFL is just as elite as the NFL

I have a question, why can't the XFL get teams that alway play in the NFL to play for them during the spring?? Just like how we see teams from other leagues in Europe all play in the UEFA Champions League. Wouldn't it be fun to watch the New England Patriots play in the XFL!? That will help more eyes be on the XFL.
Because those franchises have major contracts with players, and unless the XFL was an entity or farm league owned by the NFL doing that would be a massive liability for their payroll and rosters.
