You're trippin. Buccs bout to have like 11 or 12 wins and get deeper in the playoffs this year too. Their roster got better not worse. And they were already all starting to gel last year at the end. They're super underrated.

I think the bucs are the only team who can win a superbowl, win 3 divisions in a row, and get better by subtraction while retaining most people. But still get played the underdog card. Devin White was only good his rookie year and got worse as time went on. Hell he got benched a few games last year. Shaq just wasn't himself after the tear. Carlton Davis was good, but could never stay on the field.
Canales wasn't as good as everyone says (at least as a play caller and his run game was bad.) Meanwhile we picked up the guy from the Rams who Mayfield already has a repertoire with and has been an OC coordinator before.
As far as rookies. I think this is the most solid group Licht has drafted ever. Irving actually has vision unlike white, not saying white isn't good. Irving will end up being our top back at some point watch. or a more 50/50 distribution, hell even having both on the field at the same time. Picking up that WR will allow Godwin to go back to slot, and it sounds like he's looking like his old self too.
Our offensive lineman have been notorious for making huge leaps going form rookie years to second year (Mauch.) We picked up a stud possible center too.
Vita Vea came in lighter back to what he was when he came in and was a dominant force. Forget the name of the rookie defensive lineman who single handed destroyed the eagles in the playoff game. (Watch the game no joke.) We got another edge from the second round, we'll see though. Good against good competition in college, but these picks never seem to work out for us ; /
Some of the people we signed for depth are trying to unseat some of our starters too. I'm sorry, the bucs are SEVERELY underestimated this year.
They say Britt who will be replacing White will be a superstar. Not sold on him, but I can say when White got benched, I didn't notice any difference, but that was the start of our win streak to get to the playoffs.
Meanwhile cousins is coming off a tear at 36, seems like a boo hoo kind of player since pennix got drafted (though I thought that was a dumb move on it's own.) Hear Pennix is looking good too in practice (though rookie.) Other than that, what else did the Falcons change? Dear I say I still consider the Saints to be #2, and since Payton / Brees are gone, I don't really dread playing them anymore.

Liam Coen is going to be a way better OC than Canales. Canales offense struggled to put up points and a lot of times lost games for the team. Coen will have them scoring 24ppg which isn’t the greatest but when your defense is holding teams to 19ppg you can will alot more ball games

canales wasnt some genius, bucs had most rush attempts with like 28th ranked rush yards. dude was a bit too stubborn on the run game, nothing fancy, just up the gut consistently, 1st and 2nd down was almost all rush attempts for the bucs last season.

I’m not worried about Kirk cousins anymore than I’m worried about Derek Carr. Tampa just needs to run the ball significantly better… Not the best just somewhere in the middle of the pack of the league. Winfield, Whitehead, David, Dean.… Will take care of the NFC south quarterbacks.
I played hs football with Cade, he has great character and is generally a beast of a dude.

Liam Coen is 10x better then canales and has experience with Baker the run game will improve tremendously don't be shocked if we're in the top 10. Plus Liam is the real Mastermind with his play calling n broke records with his offense which is the same scheme just called better.
Baker beat Kirk Cousins in his first game as a Buccaneer and that was when Kirk had JJ, Hockensen and Addison. Bucs have better weapons, a better O line, a better front 7… honestly the only thing I can think that the falcons have the advantage is secondary and the Bucs have the best safety in the league.

We're fortunate to be in a weak division and not to mention that we have a TOUGH schedule against playoff powerhouses so this is def going to be a down year

I just think most people don't fully understand how 3-4 defensive fronts work and the differences between that and the now more common 4-3 system. Bowles is one of the better defensive HCs in the league and I think their seasonal success is most dependent on whether or not their replacement OC will be able to reproduce the success the Canales had.
that being said if Alvin Kamara returns to form, the Falcons run game improves as much as it's expected to and the Panthers are able to run the ball whatsoever with a duo of rookie Jonathan Brooks and Chuba Hubbard behind him, that 3-4 defense might really come back to bite them in the ass in those 6 division games alone. never mind the fact that they also play the Dolphins, Lions, Ravens, Eagles and 49ers at some point in the season. All of whom have a fairly respectable run game or hybrid system in one way or another. That being said I have absolutely zero concerns in that regard if the offense is able to play at even 80% of last year's effectiveness. Baker and the guys just simply managed to outscore the opponent when the defense did its job and didn't collapse on them. I'd even argue the defense carried them in some of the lower scoring games where they struggled on the ground like against Carolina.

@@jamesanagnos6123 I mean that's what you do in a 3-4 front when it's obvious that they run the ball. bring pressure and overload the o-line to try and get negative yards. as for HC a lot of that is about culture and leading a team which I'd argue we hardly know anything about as outsiders but the fact that he still has his job and we rarely hear complaints means he can't be that bad. but yea, sure, continue with the usual talking points.

lol you think Canales is better than Cohen??? Canales couldn’t get the run game going all year. They’d run it 1st and 2nd then ask Baker to bail them out every 3rd down. Canales isn’t making it on the panthers longer than 2 years. He’s overrated. Cohen is a seasoned OC veteran. He came to the Bucs because he knows one year with Baker, Evan’s, and Godwin, he’s up for a HC job. That’s why he’s back from Kentucky. This wasn’t random.
Dave Canales is so overhyped. Why is he given the credit as reviving Geno's career when it could havw been the OC instead. Baker was in any ideal situations post his early 2021 shoulder injury minus the Rams, so its not like we can say Dave was the sole architect of his revival.
Side note. Wirfs was been a Right tackle for his career. He only switched to the left last year
