@@globaltravelmate Hi: We stayed five nights at Siam Royal View Apartments in Khlong Son at the northern tip of the island. It was very nice. Booked via Agoda. It's privately owned but has resort privileges. Pretty narrow sois getting in there though. We moved down to a mom & pop place for a couple more nights on White Sand Beach called Tantawan Bungalows. Quiet, traditional, steps to the beach. I want to stay at Lonely Beach someday but dang, those roads are challenging! Thanks.
I stayed at the old El Grecco location at Bang Bao pier. I'll miss that location but I'll looking forward to visiting their new location on my next visit to Koh Chang.
The view cafe 3:30 is TO DIE FOR. That vast ocean view from the chair near the tree and see the jungle over the ocean…awwwwwwww 🌟💫 11:20 Brilliant idea for branching your restaurant.

I used to go to Koh Chang often about 20 years ago well before they started the car ferry service, the roads were unsealed and stopped at Kai Bae. One had to either walk from there to Lonely Beach (hence the name) or catch a boat and to Bang Bao also. Once the car ferry service started and the roads extended the island started to lose it's character will mass tourism creeping in.
Great video I love Koh Chang. Think I tried a greek pop up restaurant in Kai Be when I was there in 2015, it must have been your greek friend in his early days.

SO WHY TAKING A CHANCE TO RUIN YOUR VACATIONS WHEN YOU HAVE A NICE CAR? IF YOU WANT TO FEEL THE WIND ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOWS! ALSO THE CAR PROTECTS YOU FROM THE RAIN AND THE SUN!! AND YOU CAN HAVE AC ALL THE TIME! WELL THAT IS MY HUMBLE OPINION!
You can go full Thai style you know? hoodie and jeans/sweat pants glove sneakers etc. Just so your skin won't be burned. I always do this. Doesn't matter if the weather is hellish. I'd still do it. Sun screen cream always felt uncomfortable on my skin. I just don't like it, it's very sweat inducing, way worse than those clothes, at least for me.
Kind of sad to hear you say you don't like fish while standing on the terrace of the seafood restaurant that was once crowned best seafood restaurant in Thailand.

Remember the days 30Yrs ago when I visited Kai Bae. NO running water & Electricity. Living with fishing family. Lovely time indeed.

When we went there, they did not test. But officially vax proof is enough.
