Hi Kimberly I make this all the time. To me the meat has to cook longer. It has nothing to do with the ingredients. Wish you could taste mine. The ranch dip would make it saltier. Sorry you didn’t care for it. It was a lot of fun watching you and Danny. Thanks for sharing😊😊 Have a fantastic and blessed week.
Yes I love to make this or the chicken version. It should be much easier to shred. I don’t put the butter but I dump in the whole jar of sliced pepporcini and the juice.
Chicken, and pork as well. You can use the boneless pork loin. Also can use the London broil cut of beef. 8 hours on low and don’t lift the lid the entire time.
I use a 2-3 pound chuck roast, the ranch dressing mix, the ah jus packet , 1 whole stick of butter not cut up, place roast , both packets mixes on roast the whole stick of butter and some of the peppers with a little of the juice, cook on low for 6-8 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high. It falls apart beautifully no struggles! It really is good! I live in Florida. There is a pork roast/ Boston but you can make from the Pioneer Woman with Dr Pepper soda and Adobo chilies in adobo sauce you should try in the crockpot also. You can look up her recipe online, just us about 1/2 of the amount of the Adobo chilies and sauce as she calls for!! Hope you try it and like it!
I like to brown my chuck roast first to add flavor. Then I place it in the crockpot over a bed of sliced onions. If it’s not shredding, you have to cook it longer. I sometimes cook it up to 12 hours. And only ever cook it on low. Chuck roast never does well on high.
I’m from Mississippi born & raised. YES!! Definitely a great roast. I brown my roast first and cook in my instant pot. You need liquid when you cook it. I’m never disappointed when I make it. I’ve never tried this with chicken.
I agree about the saltiness of use full packets. I use 1/2 packet of each au jus and (ranch seasoning) with abt 2lbs of chicken; sometimes a splash of the pepperoncini to let the acid break down the meat and help tenderize it 😊
I've tried the Mississippi pot roast...we liked it. but I diluted it with a little beef broth & it was a lot more tender. & a little pepperoncini juice & I did cook it a little longer was better when I did that the 2nd time...because we liked the spicy flavor but wasn't quite right so next time I did it a little different
I make it all the time and we love it! I cook mine all day in the crockpot. Never had a problem with it not being tender. Yes the dip is stronger and salty! Great to see Dee! He has really grown up! Please tell the kids Hello!
I thought the same thing the first time I saw the recipe. But it really works and so good with beef roast and chicken. There are a few different recipes out there but the only thing I do different is I use brown gravy packet instead of the ajus packet. I like it so much better. But you make me nervous since your picky 😂 I typed my comment before your reaction so we will see.
I've never made this recipe and always wondered if I would like it. Do you think you'll try it with chicken? Would you share your pot roast recipe with us? Sounds yummy!!!! Have to say Hi to PRECIOUS MILES!!!! HI MILES!!! 🐾💗🐾
@@_KimberlyHalle Thanks, Kimberley! I will also search for your pot roast recipe in case I find it on your videos. LOL A dedicated video on it would be awesome! TY!
I’ve made this following the recipe and found it to be WAY too salty as well. I add 1/2 pkg ranch dressing OR DIY salt free ranch dressing and then a 1/2 pkg au jus mix. You can always add salt but not take it away. I also add 1-2c water in the crockpot and a sploosh of the brine from the peppers - the acid helps soften/break down the meat. It’s one of our faves but we love it more with a pork shoulder/butt instead.
We just had that this week! One of our favorites. My husband eats all the pepperoncinis. I use half a stick of butter not the full stick and it works just the same.
This was great. Truthfully, I have seen several RUclipsrs make this. I never could understand the combination either. You have convinced me even more now to never try it. Thanks for the honest opinion!
I’ve never tried this but now I’m not sure I will. 😂 Also, D’s skin looks so good. What did he do to clear it up? My son is 13 and getting really insecure about his skin. 😔
Hilarious! I love that he was willing to try it, at least. And he saw potential in it. 😂 My boys would be the same way, older one would maybe try it, but younger one would have a hard time doing so. Hubby would not at all! 😂 I’ve been wanting to try it, too, but not wanting to waste it if it tasted awful. 😂 I still kind of want to try it, though! 😂
I make the pot roast in the instapot. You have to brown the pot roast first on the sautee setting, add your ingredients and liquid. I think that is why your pot roast was tough, there was no liquid. I did look at the recipe you went by and she did not mention adding liquid 😒.
It's good you gave it a try you guys seem to like it God your son is tall taller then you he's growing up so quickly . How old is he now . Have a great day 😊💞
You have to put the peppercini liquid inside also. You didn’t have enough liquid to cover the meat. My meat falls apart and is so juicy and tender. The liquid would have also taken away the saltiness. Try it again. I can’t believe how much older your son is. He has facial hair.
I know that’s what people are telling me. But the recipe didn’t say to add liquid 🤷🏻♀️. Yes I know lol. He will be a senior in high school next school year. They grow too fast.
No Nevaeh does not anymore. She just didn’t want to be online anymore. I never pushed them into it and respect her for not wanting to be online anymore 💖
Love the video, so good to see D again. He is all grown up. Handsome young man. Maybe it needed some beef broth to help it get tender.

Thank you so much and you have a great weekend
So good to see you both!! Kids grow so fast . Making good times together is the best
I love filming with them if they want to and having those memories

Yes others are saying it needed liquid

I did have it on 8 low 🤗

I've made that before but w/ an italian dressing packet instead of the au jusand it was delicious
Oh that sounds good
I like a roast cooked this way. I add a little of the juice from the peppers. You should share your pot roast recipe. Thanks for the video!
I have in the past but maybe I will do a dedicated video on it

Someone else said it needed liquid too. So maybe that’s why. But I was following the recipe… 🤷🏻♀️
I’m definitely making this this weekend. Thank you! What color lipstick are you wearing?
To be honest I don’t remember what that lip combo was. I always change it up.
You guys are too funny. It was nice seeing both of you. Please keep sharing ideas for meals and money saving tips. Thank you.
Thank you
Great video 💯❤
That meal sounds pretty good never tried..
But I like the regular roast a bit better otherwise in my opinion with carrots..potato’s..

That’s what I am hearing to add liquid
The dish looked pretty good. It was nice to see D after so long!
I know it was nice he was able to hop on camera. He has been so busy
I actually did this recipe used chicken breast instead and used turkey gravy instead of that other one your supposed to and it came out so delicious
That is great to hear!
I add some of the peppercinni juices also
I make it all the time and we love it! I cook mine all day in the crockpot. Never had a problem with it not being tender. Yes the dip is stronger and salty! Great to see Dee!
He has really grown up! Please tell the kids Hello!
Good to know the dip is stronger. I will tell the kids you said hello
You did great Kimberly
Thank you
Yummy! We love this particular recipe for roast. I noticed a lot of RUclips ladies use ranch seasoning in their recipes. 😊
My daughter is 10 and she won’t get on camera or take photos anymore. 🤷♀️
That’s why I wanted to try it because I see it so much
@@_KimberlyHalle personally I like the ranch seasoning in mashed potatoes sometimes. Not bad!

No I won’t try it with chicken. I think the flavor combo for us is a pass. I have before but maybe I will do a dedicated video on it.

As someone from Mississippi.. I've never heard of this lol. I use roast, potatoes, carrots, celary, onions and maybe liptons onion soup mix. 😊
It’s all over youtube, Instagram, recipes online. I always do a classic roast with potatoes and carrots too
Ha ha, this was too funny, you two are so cute.....I have been wanting to try that recipe, hmmmm? Maybe or maybe not? Or a maybe out of curiosity.
It’s just not for us
I use the ranch seasoning
We just had that this week! One of our favorites. My husband eats all the pepperoncinis. I use half a stick of butter not the full stick and it works just the same.
Thanks for the tip!
I’ve made it before and it was fine but not one I make all the time. I do like using Lipton onion soup mix for my regular roast and burgers
🤗
This was great. Truthfully, I have seen several RUclipsrs make this. I never could understand the combination either. You have convinced me even more now to never try it. Thanks for the honest opinion!
Yeah for us it’s a pass. Not my cup of tea but had to try it out.
I’ve never tried this but now I’m not sure I will. 😂 Also, D’s skin looks so good. What did he do to clear it up? My son is 13 and getting really insecure about his skin. 😔
We ended up having to do accutane for him. He did 5 months of it back in his freshman year I think it was.
Hilarious! I love that he was willing to try it, at least. And he saw potential in it. 😂 My boys would be the same way, older one would maybe try it, but younger one would have a hard time doing so. Hubby would not at all! 😂

Well people are saying to brown it in a pan or instant pot first and it needs liquid. So maybe that would have helped.
@@_KimberlyHalle I’ll definitely keep that in mind!
How long did you cook it? It needs to cook for at least 8 hours. I find 10 hours even better. And it needs to cook on low.
I cooked it for 8 hours
@@_KimberlyHalle oops! I commented before I heard you say you cooked it all day. Sorry.

I thought that was odd but just going with what it said. Thanks for the tips if I try it again.
