Hey Bro - you saved it well...bigup ! But as Misha said...the one that follows fast traffic, is about to crash... Was there any Car behind you, that Moment of Aproach ?
The most dangerous part of that is the fact the marshall has almost completely blocked the road on a very fast section to make the gap so small it means everyone has to be very slow - there needs to be a wider section to start slowing them down but not causing the jam due to being so little.. IMHO the marshall needs at least re-training if not sacking for such a stupid thing to do.
You 100% did the right thing. Realsed the danger and acted quickly, too many people just do nothing in those situations and inadvertently make it worse
That's just life threatening negligence to let the traffic jam grow that much without getting yellows waved to before where the traffic jam starts. Luckily everybody got away without injuries or any damage! There was ZERO warning of the traffic jam until you were *in* it!
Some people don't lift when they indicate for you to overtake. I like to make it easy for others to overtake. When I indicate, I also go off the throttle a bit so it's quickly done without any hassle.
I find it surprising that there are no yellow flags prior to this huge traffic jam. Imagine if there were inexperienced drivers at that time, they could have easily not paid attention and fly into the traffic putting everyone in danger (which to their defense and I can stand-by it, there was nothing to warn them about whats going on). I do understand there are certain corners on the Nurburgring where even if the marshels would have pulled yellow flags couple of hundred of meters before the incident, for some drivers it wouldn't be enough to catch what is going on. I'm sure the Seat driver will learn his lesson altho can't say he done something too bad, he was just flying by like the rest of the cars before him but here I think marshels should have laid the incident more clear to see beforehand.
If u would know how bad they do their jobs sometimes. It is frustrating that you quiet often nearly smash into them or others because they just Don t think about where to Park their car or where not to. So many moments running into shit like this. Complained. Nothing happened
100% you were right to do what you did. It is common sense. It is very scary that people cannot realise this. Anyone who attacked you for doing this needs to take a good look at their own driving and more importantly, their thinking and decision making.

I'm in two minds about this. If all of the drivers were only queueing on the right-side of the track, eventually the queue might stretch as far back as those earlier corners and potentially be more dangerous, so it makes sense in cars using the width of the track and queueing in parallel to keep it as short as possible... however, there are also safety benefits by keeping the left side of the track clear as an emergency run-off, just in case someone really needs it, so that they don't have to brake on the grass.
Agree. Micha had space on the right and almost completely slotted in but chose not to because he didn't want to be the last of those parked cars. He created a more dangerous situation for others occupying the left lane again to put himself in a more safer place.
You handled everything perfectly, I togue in the states and your experience shows every time you breakdown these “ incidents“ and always take accountability and give key details and why you react and move the way you do. You got someone’a pride and joy and not to forget their lives on your hands. Brother you’re incredibly talented and precise keep up the grind.
Bro the fiesta did see you wayyy earlier and you did nothing wrong. I think you are a good driver with respect for other people. Hopefully the negative reactions don’t win from the positive ones. I like your videos and I think a lot of people could learn from you. Keep it up brother, love the channel.
You 100% did all the right things, it’s typical social media trolls saying you have been aggressive or cut people up… probably 70% of these people haven’t even driven the ring 🤷🏻♂️ Keep up the good work young man 😁 P.s. are you making it to Mallory Park in the UK for Autoalexs shedfest in May?
I stay with you Misha. This is GreenHell Live and if you are there you have to expect something happening with so many driver's on it. But go back to Fiesta he have only more power and should let you pass and than continuing his lap. Realy good that No body was hurt Good Job 💪👍😜💯 Ps. We are allmost there few more day's 💪🤪👏
Good video Misha. With all These blind corners and people who are in the zone, these things happen! Also, sometimes it’s far to busy! Long time ago a friend of mine had a same kind of situation coming from Fuchsröhre towards Adenauer Forst. He needed to lift (with a tail happy Peugeot 106) and ended up in the barrier!
I was in that sitting duck situation years ago on a Dutch motorway near Schipol. We were travelling along in the left hand lane in quite heavy traffic. My wife in the passenger seat said quite calmly, the cars up ahead are hitting eachother. I’d already slowed down a lot when the cars on my right locked up and with smoke pouring from their tyres started skidding away from us. We were in a brand new XR3i, one of the few cars at the time with ABS and the car slowed down rapidly and under control. We were rolling quite slowly when I saw a huge gap between us and the hard shoulder so I put the car into 2nd gear and headed there. We got out and sat on the grass bank. For what seemed like minutes later there was the sound of screeching tyres, collisions and breaking glass. I was so glad that we weren’t still out there on the carriageway waiting to be hit. The road was stationary for quite a while and although a lot of cars were badly damaged nobody seemed to be badly hurt. What got me was that so many people just sat there waiting to be hit. Like you I think my spur of the moment flight instinct was the right decision. Several of the people involved in the incident were very laid back about it, they simply shrugged their shoulders and said, these things happen. Personally I’m prepared to do what it takes to stop them happening to me.
I'm not sure why there was an extra explanation needed (but I'll watch it anyway because these videos are amazing) These things also happen on the highway with traffic jams. I immediately knew what you were doing when the Cupra flew by. Great thinking and handling of the situation, I would expect nothing else from a driver like you.
I mean, without a good signaling system like F1 has, there is no way to avoid a crash in the situation of the GT2, fast blind corner and cars stopped after it, if the jam was a bit bigger he wouldn't be able to avoid the stopped cars, that situations should be signaled with lights at least 100 meters before the blind spot, Nürburgring is a really dangerous circuit if you are not alone on it.
Misha your decision was made in hundreths of a second, commenters have time to rewatch the video, ponder thoughts and make a justified decision. They probably dont even have a car or license. Legendary driving as always sir.
kinda like when you come around a blind corner and on the other side is a UPS truck parked in the middle of the road and you are stuck behind him. uncomfortable feeling.
I've seen how situations like this can go bad very quickly. It reminds me of a clip I saw on RUclips where a driver gets out to help people and all hell breaks loose.
There's a lot of unfortunate things happening to you this year Misha.... Please be safe... at least go 1 or 2 km/h slower....Love your channel... want to watch it till I'm old :)
I was driving the Ringfreaks 3 series in front of Misha and that was my first lap on the ring. Definitely one of the worse places to have a yellow where it was supposed to be a flat and partially blind corner. Plus the non straight braking zone and at least 60kph speed delta. Was unsure if it was only single file so I kept right. IMHO, you could have committed to one side but once the Seat flew past, it was a no brainer to go to the front. Cheers!
Gut feeling, you did right thing. Your in the flat out driving zone on a busy track Being smashed from behind is no fun especially at the speeds you do. The full camera set up around the track, with another pair of eyes is a good thing.
You are completely right, I experienced similar congestion in Turkey in the summer. Just as the traffic was moving slowly, they suddenly stopped, the back of me was open and people were coming fast, I always check 2 cars ahead and 2 cars behind in traffic in the mirror. I hit the brakes, then when I looked in the mirror again, instead of stopping, I stepped on the gas and immediately threw myself into the median in the far left lane, leaving a space for one vehicle. Just as I predicted, even though the people behind were braking, they couldn't stop and skidded, advancing towards the truck in front of me. So are those who come after them. If I hadn't made that move, it would have been a pileup accident.
From my perspective as a guy who used to race, not only did you do the right thing there, but arguably it would be even better if you had done this earlier. Not blaming you for something, but before the Cupra came along, you were about the only car at that had stopped and remained to the left right after the corner, so it already looked like a precarious spot to remain stationary at. Even if jumping the row is generally not considered the right thing to do, it is clearly better in this case to go forward and find some spot between the cars on the right, rather than wait for a fast approaching car to hopefully go to over the grass successfully, and thus demonstrate beyond any doubt that we're in this kind of situation where usual etiquette does not really apply.
There should have been yellow flags for sure. And your decision to move out of harms way was 110%correct. As someone who has marshalled before I find it hard to believe that no flags were out. The fact you had the presence of mind to move away from a dangerous situation shows how professional you are. Bravo 👏.
You did the right thing Getting out the way, an instinctive manoeuvre. I would’ve done the same! It’s not always what’s in front, it’s what is coming up from behind……
The led panels were a giant leap forward for my local circuit. They can marshall the whole track from 3 stations now (2.5 mile track). Just expanding the marshall posts to better signage will save accidents.
misha don't worry about people who criticize, they do it out of envy allways. Speaking about the Ford Fiesta, if you are signaling to pass, release the accelerator and that's it. The traffic jam was not dangerous but it could have been because we have experience in what can happen if you stay in the middle. greetings from Argentina
To be honest I think you did the right thing and I would do the same. And besides that the lap you were doing with the gr86 was a flyer. The cornering speeds were very impressive.
I also had to brake from 200km/h to 30km/h because of the traffic jam on the Nordschleife. It was the most horrible moment in my entire race track experiences. The final gap with the front car was about 10m.
The Ford Fiesta saved your life, if you had reached maximum speed at that slowing down of cars... I don't know how it would have ended 😅😉 Thank the Fiesta ahhaahah
I don't see any bad decisions or behaviours made in this video. Misha did what most of us would do, the guy from Seat handled the situation really well and the Fiesta driver also showed great class by reaching out to Misha and apologising, its normal to make mistakes its terrible not to realize that you made a mistake. Cheers friends, stay safe!
Dude. 30 years of track days and 50k miles a year motorway driving imho you did what I have done several times. You may stop on time but others aren’t as aware/talented. It was a great call!! I witnessed / and was a witness for a fatality on the m1 in the uk. When exactly the same thing happened. I was not going to be the one at the back and moved lanes. The 3 3 cars behind me originally all stopped but the 4th didn’t. 9 car shunt. 1 fatality. It was a wise move. Why keep yourself in danger.
I never driven on the Nürburgring, but watching your videos and I've always wondered what would happen if you went around one of the more blind corners only to come up on much slower traffic or a complete stop. Now I know. Experience and lightning quick reflexes help a lot. A more inexperienced driver would crash in that situation.
I totally agree with you. I always do the same thing, you have to drive defensively and not stand in the middle of the track and let someone from behind come and crash you. It is very easy to criticize from the sofa at home, but to see a Cupra passing you at such a high speed, next to you, is not fun and is very dangerous. Very well done!
Hello Misha. There is no reason for you to apologize for anything! It was 'racing driver's instinct', nothing more than that! A very good decision, in extreme circumstances and which does not even require further explanation from anyone! Whoever criticizes it is because they think cars are just means of transport and nothing else! Those who ride buses (which are not very safe either) and subways; and forget about cars! Ignore criticism; and congratulations on the good work in your profession: a great racing driver and a lover of sports cars, engines, etc.,... like many of us, your followers! Keep faith, brother, and may God bless you!🤜🤛👍
Problem with yellow lights is if they are not active, people (especially newbies) don't know they are there, and can miss the point where they can continue driving fast. If inactive yellow light were for example lit blue or white, or had bright big background to be more visible while inactive it would be nice.
I'm still to this day shocked how a track like Nurburgring can't put some freaking LED lights next to the track that would automatically light up green, yellow or red based on what's going on, and have one marshal in a room with screens covering the whole track where he could instantly turn on the warning lights at any part of the track. Or have the marshals on track be able to remotely turn on the lights when something happens. Probably cheaper than paying 20 people to wave invidible flags on the track too.
My first thought when I originally saw the clip was: „ why are you so aggressively chasing down that guy to yell at him?“ But now it makes much more sense
Sorry but i read this differently to the narrative given in the video. White Fiesta annoyed Misha, by his own admission. Then waiting in traffic jam Cupra flies past and still annoyed Misha doesn't want to be at the back of the queue, see it as an overtake rather than inability to slow down. This is validated by not letting Cupra go when traffic starts moving, no reason for that except that Misha is still annoyed at Cupra driver.
No no. You handled it the right way. You got yourself and passenger out of harms way while not adding to a chance of making the situation worse for the whole track
Totally get all of this. Completely understand. Race tracks by their nature are aggressive places and those that say you were too aggressive just need to stop watching. If you aren't aggressive then you are not really driving. The difference is capable driving versus being ignorant and not capable. I would have done the same thing and accelerated. I have done that on the streets too. I have even seen a car not noticing that we are stopped at a red light and immediately gunned it and drive off into the grass on the right and the moron smashed into the car in front of me instead of me. There are way too many people driving that are not drivers. That is a pretty big statement. Most people need a self driving car. Give me a Gen 1 or Gen 2 Dodge Viper any day of the week.
To all people who criticized Misha for stopping in the middle of the road in youtube shorts clip. Just look ahead when he stopped - two more cars was already in the middle aswell. Its 50/50 staying on the right and waiting to que to grow more and get rear ended or trying to move to the left and getting same results like with gt2 rs MR clip. I would also choose middle and be watching rear view mirrors.
That taxi footage was intense, excellent composure and nice result. I wonder if this marshall and the one that had a bad situation on a blind high speed section on a video a few months ago (He angrily waved his flag as you passed as if you could see him through the hill beforehand, if that rings any bells haha) are related. It's like they're wanting to cause accidents.
It really baffles me that there’s no yellow before! And in my opinion you did the right thing to jump to the front. Basically the German road laws say you should use the maximum amount of road available and merge in the front to minimize a jam. It’s just safer!
Yeah the Fiesta driver slightly misjudged the straight line and corner speed differences between the cars but the only really dangerous mistake here was not having yellow flags earlier.
I think you reacted properly, to get your car out of the way in case people coming into the preceding apex couldn't stop in time. You don't want to get rear ended and you had a passenger. Its just when everyone else starts doing it, having the same thought because of the slow reaction time of the Seat bustling through. I also recall that GT2RS video from a few years back. Good call out showing it. As someone commented earlier, the Marshall was blocked and there should have been a light or flagger sooner. Going from 120+ mph to a stop is a huge variable with the kinds of cars on any track.
How much would it be to put a radio speaker in every car to make announcements to the drivers?? How many would you need? 50? 100? Just pass them out when you enter the Ring and turn them back in when you’re done. Seems simple.
The digital safety system can't come soon enough! We had last season a similar sticky situation on the part of track while coming down with a lot of speed.

misha don't worry about people who criticize, they do it out of envy allways. Speaking about the Ford Fiesta, if you are signaling to pass, release the accelerator and that's it. The traffic jam was not dangerous but it could have been because we have experience in what can happen if you stay in the middle. greetings from Argentina
Take him to a ride in SF90.
To be honest I think you did the right thing and I would do the same.
And besides that the lap you were doing with the gr86 was a flyer. The cornering speeds were very impressive.
I agree to all people who say you are an agressiv driver. You should better do racing only...but NO Tourist-Drives
Great moves bro, no need to justify your decisions.
ONLY good riders know that you are just doing fine!
Why did you stop on the left side of the road? Seems like there was place on the right hand side?
Wow never seen that footage of tim shooting to the trafick jam. Holy he saved it
Am the same when road becomes congested to make space and feel safe 🙏
I don't see any bad decisions or behaviours made in this video. Misha did what most of us would do, the guy from Seat handled the situation really well and the Fiesta driver also showed great class by reaching out to Misha and apologising, its normal to make mistakes its terrible not to realize that you made a mistake. Cheers friends, stay safe!
Misha I guess there shouldn’t be any explanation to it, you did the right thing. :)
Just watched the Video. you were correct in what you did. May have been a horrible accident if you hadn't. Loving your channel. :)
Absolutely agree Misha you did the right thing, best way to avoid an accident is not be there.
Up till now I found that its your best drive !
you did the right thing for that moment. Better to avoid than being in an accident that nobody wants. Look at how fast that other car went past you.
My first thought when I originally saw the clip was: „ why are you so aggressively chasing down that guy to yell at him?“
But now it makes much more sense
You reacted responsible and taking your life and fellow track users into consideration
You did awesome ❤
TBF the cars did suddenly comes to a stop, but as long as no crashes, it's all good.
Misha, you did the right thing, fuck the haters, as the speed differential would have made this deadly otherwise.
I see no problem with what you done. If I saw that car belting down the grass I would get out of there too.
Great foot work 🎉
It really baffles me that there’s no yellow before!
Glad the fiesta driver reached out. Him indicating to pull over and then proceed to battle you is very dangerous
The digital safety system can't come soon enough! We had last season a similar sticky situation on the part of track while coming down with a lot of speed.
9:44 i think you re totally right
Missing yellow flags much earlier.. good to have more cameras on track
Yeah, I can't wait for them to install the LED panels. It would improve the safety of the track a lot.
