After trying it out for several days/weeks I came to realize it is actually perfect for WHY I bought it.This is not a workout, the resistance is, eh, it makes a bit of noise, not loud, and it isn’t very stable even with the mat. The mat certainly keeps the bike from sliding but nothing keeps the mat from sliding (if that makes any sense, lol). Mine is place on my hard wood floor. Maybe it would be better with a rug underneath??I sit for long hours for work and wanted something to keep my legs moving. This bike does exactly that! For the price it is amazing, it is compact, easy to use, light weight, keeps track of time, calories etc (not sure how accurate it is) but good little product. I am happy with it.
Yes, you can. This machine will work your whole chest(upper, middle, low). Just focus and try to raise the weight quite frequently(be careful not to injure your muscles though). Soon you will see that your whole chest will grow.
@@xxprogamer2578 You have to gradually increase the weight for the muscle to grow, also known as progressive overload. You could either increase the weight or increase the number of repetitions. It's totally up to your preference.
First day in a gym that I signed up and got my beginner work out plan. Your videos are great and a ton of help! Thank you! Please never delete this account or lose your videos in the future >
Thank you I got a home gym recently put together at my house. I did not know what the proper form was and what techniques I should use while I use my chest press. This video was exactly what I was looking for, I appreciate it!
Damn, it’s December 2022 now and I am looking at this comment from seven months ago and I’m just looking into videos on how I should use my machine because I stopped using it when I was working I definitely would’ve been bigger by now if I consistently used it every day from when I made the original comment.
Somehow at my first day of gym I felt pressure on biceps during chest press and not on chest. Well after watching this video I realise that mine wrist positions were wrong and machine adjustment was tight and i was raising my elbows.
Free weights and machines are a powerful combination. Use both! A lot of exercises are hard to do without machine assistance if you're beginning (e.g. barbell chest press, pull ups), but there are machines available to simulate the movement so you can grow that strength. Ultimately free weights are always better but can cause injury with bad form. On a day which I focus on chest (like I did today) I did flat, incline dumb bell presses and this machine. Worked great!
Τhis machine will isolate your chest muscles. With bench press you will also train your deltoids(shoulders), your triceps and even your biceps which are the stabilizers. The disadvantage of bench is that you have to do it with perfect technique in order to have results, while the machine "drives" you. If you have little experience prefer to use the machine. If you know exactly how to do the bench press, prefer it. I hope I helped.
I am planning on starting a new life style, and i was worried about how to use gym equipment. THANKYOU FOR MAKING GENUIENLY (misspelled) HELPFUL VIDEOS!
Scott, Thank you so much for giving to people all these great tips in how to improve workouts. I'm a big follower of your videos and I've implemented my routine with yours, getting positive results. Thanks for sharing your knowledge in fitness and body building.
I've encountered a piece of equipment in the gym, looks something like this but it is in the lying down position (for training chest). It can also be adjusted to the position shown in the video. What are the difference between sitting position and lying down position? Both seems the same to me, to train the chest.
Oh gosh, it seems more complicated than I was hoping. I wonder if I can figure out how to adjust the machine by myself. But this was super helpful info. Thanks!
Those upward presses are great machines. Really get good work on your whole chest. The ones that go straight out without any angle are a waste of time and straight up trash. They don’t work your chest for shit. All they do is strain your shoulders. This one is the only one I like.
You should do more "variate ____(insert exercise)__" videos like the pull up one. Especially with free weights! I HATE machines because in a packed gym I'd never get my workout done using just machines.
Hey Scott, how long did it take you to reach this stage of fitness/conditioning? How much in terms of the regularity of training and types of training. You dont look particularly hypertrophied but you seem strong. Why do you think that is?
Hi Scott, while doing the Chest Press, do you actually let the weights touch each other between each push, or do you make sure that the weights never touch each other until you finish your entire routine with chest press ? Thanks
I did this exercise and felt on my front shoulder....I tried adjusting my elbows and my shoulder blade back....and still the same result unless I lower the weight,,there were no pain and my chest didn't felt anything 😢...any tips on this?
@73Nateman I would take all seated exercises out of any routine; far better and more effective things that can be done instead. One of the main reasons why people have such poor postural allignment is because they sit down far too much and then they include seated exercises. They just don't get it - but each to his own,
What happens if you grip the handles more wide? I keep my grip as shown in this video, but I've also noticed some people grip them wide almost to where the meat of the hands are touching the edge of the handles. Also, when looking to build up your chest, would you focus more use from the cybex incline chest press machine or this one?
hey mate i had a question please helpl me out so the gym that i go to they dont have this machine they have it with weights and the seat doesnt go front and back so i can only sdjust it up and down so it does put too much pressure on my shoulder so what shall i do i am unable to do full 3 sets of 10 even
Hey man. Am I supposed to have my back completely flat against the seat or slightly arched while pressing? Because, arching it and then going back against the seat allow to press more weight.
Does it work? I used to bench press but once I switch it to these due to some pain on my ribs, I noticed I can lift way heavier on a chest press as though it is easier to do
So on a chest press, If I am able to press the 100 weight, what is the equivalent weight to benching? I am asking because a friend of mine wants to know how much I can bench but I don't have one :)
This machine does have a slight incline to it, so yes this will work the upper chest. Another great exercise for upper chest is the incline barbell bench press. Or incline dumbbell bench press
@skingftl If you have issues with your wrists, you might wanna listen to your doctor, who is after all a trained medical professional and unlike us he has actually examined you. It seems a bit unlikely, however, that a chest press would contribute much to CPS (as opposed to, say, typing all day with a crappy keyboard for years, which is why it usually happens).

In my gym they have start help levers to get it to the starting position which is pretty damn nice to have
You can also use those for forced reps
Wow These Are Very Helpful!
Hi Scott!
Keeping the leg at 90 degree is it important?
@MikeEves1 I agree with you, but you are less likely to get injured on the machines than with free weights.
We have this one and I can't feel my chest but only my arms. Thoughts?
What happens if you grip the handles more wide? I keep my grip as shown in this video, but I've also noticed some people grip them wide almost to where the meat of the hands are touching the edge of the handles.
Also, when looking to build up your chest, would you focus more use from the cybex incline chest press machine or this one?
Michael Brian stay compact
Keep your grip as narrow as possible to squeeze the chest muscles more. The wider you grip, the more you minimalise chest recruitment.
If your hands are too far apart, you won't contract your pecs to the maximum.
Thx I was feeling it in my triceps bc I was too low

I should adjust the bar angle so that when my elbows return to 90 degree, the weight never go all the way down, right?
always make sure to arch or else ur putting the stress off the chest and into ur shoulders
Thanks for the nice instruction, man
How many exercises do u do on each muscles? is it best keeping it low around 4 ? and how many sets?
The wrist thing is super easy to overlook and it's unbelievable what a difference it makes.
Is it normal while doing the exercise to feel pain in my shoulder side hands?
I always have problem with my shoulders after doing this
Not the only one
Correct your form and thrust your chest forward.
Same here, I hurt my shoulder and never went back to this machine 🤷♂️
what's the difference between this and the incline chest press they both look really similar
Cybex machines are the ONLY machines that have better results than free weights.
So if you want to overwork the chest and underwork the delts and biceps don't go down to a full 90 degres and do lots of reps?
From Iraq 🇮🇶
Can i ask u question?
