They're alive let's go
About the new Steve tech, Watch missed some translation as he was doing it in real time so I want to add some Acola was saying.
The tech is powerful and also practical execution wise, but it is practical only after reading specificly what the opponent’s move will be. It is useful only on some moves, at low percentages. The execution of the tech needs to be done before getting hit, and it's always better to hit the opponent without being hit from the first place, so It's almost just not worth trying the tech.
He don't want people to think he's not trying hard enough because he's not using the tech, it is just something not worth the effort
Thank you sir
Hbox and all the others are just Steve haters desperate for a global ban. Acola is already number 1 and they cannot do anything about it
Thank you for the clarification.
As a low level player and spectator, I question Acola's statement regarding that it's not worth trying the tech and it's always better to hit the opponent without being hit from the first place. I assume top level players know how to condition their opponents into taking specific actions so is it possible for Acola bait out an F-Smash or whatever fitting dangerous attack from Spargo's Cloud? If so he has a tool to directly punish the move from a disadvantageous position. This assumes he can get away with procing the tech without the opponent noticing. Given how he made Leo's Infinite Byleth Nair Works look completely unsafe and dangerous against Acola with his parry -> Up Smash counter, I can't imagine the controversial tech not being useful in his gameplay, even if it's just used once per match.
I bet this is a tricky subject to press, you don't want to start a heated debate with a distinguished competitor from overseas, but his character does so much already on top of having an insane ace in the hole with this tech.
Otherwise this was a good interview, I definitely enjoyed the questions of his support partners since it appears top level play, for most players', they're not getting up there alone. And everyone wants to see Yoshidora play over here.
@@SadFace229 like similar moves in other fighting games, Acola is saying its not usually worth it because when given the choice between:
A) Avoiding getting hit altogether.
B) Baiting out a specific move at a specific timing from a world class opponent, just to preemptively input what can be considered a hard read to punish said specific move. Now add physical execution to this equation when taking that choice into account as well.
Clearly option A just requires significantly less commitment and risk, and thats all before the opponent introduces mind games and potential counterplay. And if Acola is already really solid at option A, might as well just keep playing it safe.
yeah well Steve is still gonna stayed banned no matter what
This shows how dedicated he is to improving where he can in every area he thinks relevant.
First smash university vid in 5 months and it’s still great content!
It's nice to see smash content again
Smash University returns! Let's Go!
Godlike interview. Thank you for the content
watch's skill in memorizing, summarizing and translating long sentences is extraordinary...
i was hoping someone would be praising him because his interpretation skills are actually godlike
for real, a ton of monolingual speakers really underlook how difficult translating is and freakin Charles continues to get super technical and wordy with his questions as if he were some oxford professor or something
It's been 1000 years.....🎉

感謝します!
W finally!!!
ITS BACKKKKKL
I wonder what this “brother” system is in Japan that tracks how much you’ve played / have a rivalry against someone?
Ayee we back?
Let’s goooo
Chuck nasty. Finally!
👍
I noticed lately how much people criticize watch's translation skills and imma tell y'all right now to get off his ass immediately. As someone whos also bilingual myself switching languages let alone translating in general is harder for some then others. Watch is taking his time helping y'all understand what japanese players are saying, he don't gotta do it for you but hes working his ass off anyway. The least you monolinguals can do is either learn the language yourself or $tfU
i fought acola and beat him in all star brawl
gj?
Nahhh really????????????
Had a feeling with Leo and Spargo in losers either Banham or Acola was gonna win. Also knew if Banham and Acola played Acola would win. Banham doesn't play the MU correctly as Minmin
Bro, did you not see Banham destroy Jake that one time?
@legrandliseur tri Jake has never played a top Minmin before and he isn't anywhere near Acolas level. If Banham knew the MU he would know you can destroy a 3 block wall with dragon nair not mega watt nair which is slower and more lag. Ramram invalidates alot of what Steve wants to do. He wouldn't be getting hit with Anvil at all cause Minmin negates that and minecart pretty well. He rushed in and made alot of mistakes as Minmin. While the rush down works as Lucina it doesn't work as Minmin unless you know the MU.
blaming the loser < crediting the winner
Acola plays the MU better than Banham
There we have it folks ACOLA said the new Steve tech ain't worth doing so it's not viable therefore no Steve bans wich means no Kazuya bans either 🎉🎉
So much more class than liar Leo with his weak Aegis. Acola and Steve forever!
Players like this out there and people really wonder why steve and kaz are hated
@@Sidney_TSG i say this as an acola/steve fan this guy is actually a degenerate lmao ive seen him in other comment sections saying this crap
