My PocketGo lasted about 2hrs before the screen died and never turned on again. Screen tearing was terrible. Kept my LDK and threw away the PocketGo.
GBA Emulation frameskip on the pocketGo was set to 4 frames out of the box cause it's too weak to do anything well.
PocketGo looks great but it's really not good enough to play the games well. The LDK struggles in some games too but it's much better than the pocketGo. I keep my LDK in my Switch bag and it's really sweet.

Ryan, The Pocket Go is much better with V1.3 firmware and Miyoo firmware. That is a must for the pocket go and Powkiddy v90 and Q80. These upgrades solves the screen tearing issue. Sometimes, the pocketgo does break down and doesn't want to load. Try to reflash the memory card or replace the memory card before you toss a pocket go in the future.

Would you consider making a video comparing multiple devices with details on edge cases like yoshi's island, F-zero, and starwing. You haven't really showed sound rendering issues in this video, you should also take that into account in your future videos. I liked that you constantly compared the two systems. After a week with the pocket go, I put it down and picked up my white psp go again again. Which cost £50. The performance is excellent, and it plays PS1 games natively AND psp games. I've got classic used psp 1000's for less than £20 before. That would be my advice to anyone looking for a handheld emulation machine.

I might have to go with LDK. Solely for the fact that NES emulation wasn't botched and SNES emulation is a tad better.
Given, I still have my hacked psp 3000, but I've been meaning to retire that for a while now since SNES and GBA emulation on the psp are a hit and miss. Especially the GBA since the sound emulation tends to either sound weird, desync (very noticeable in pokemon) or both.

  • @01kmacias

The retro flag really isn’t difficult, so I hope that doesn’t discourage anyone. The super retropie page on Facebook has an image on there with all the necessary scripts for the GPi. All you have to do is add in your network and on the allotted ssh file and flash the image to an sd. Everything from then on is just drag and drop. I personally think it’s better to spend a little more on the GPi if you can get your hands on it. No screen tearing and the build quality is far better.

  • @kosukeatami4890

That LDK landscape is worse than the previous LDK because it has a slower CPU. It takes a CPU JZ4760 that goes to 528mhz, the maximum that reaches are the 620mhz with overclocking. The previous LDK has a JZ4760B CPU that reaches a maximum speed of 720mhz. Mine has reached 704mhz.
It is more comfortable but it is slower.

These mini handhelds are great (got an original bittboy myself) but the PSP is still unsurpassed for a cheap emulation handheld imo.
Plays all the big classic consoles and handhelds and also some PS1 titles and obviously PSP games too. Still cheap to buy them too.

The layout of SNES button colours is inaccurate... On the SNES it's A = Red, B = Yellow, X = Blue and Y = Green, but only the A button matches it in the LDK Game, they've put the Blue button on B, the Green on X and the Yellow on Y... I mean, you can probably fix it if you open it up and change the buttons around but still...

  • @trashandchaos
    @trashandchaos 5 лет назад +1

This and the vertical LDK are not exactly the same in terms of specs, the horizontal gets worse overclocks by a long shot because it's a non-B version of the JZ4760 chip. You're going to get much worse performance on PS1 and SNES games by comparison because it'll clock at around 630Mhz on average vs the vertical's 700-750Mhz.

GBA is actually easier to emulate than SNES; surprisingly. Take the PSP for example, GBA overall runs perfect but SNES still struggles even with basic games that don't use any special chips. It might be thanks to having such a fast GBA emulator (gpSP) and there just isn't anything as fast for SNES emulation.

  • @skins4thewin

It's actually kind of a shame that the screen isn't a bit bigger. They could have easily fit a 3" screen in this thing with all that Bezel space. Gotta say that the screen also has the strangest pixel layout I've ever seen. It's almost like a zigzag pattern. Very strange.
