You are 100% spot on mate about the Sinn and the mindset needed when doing reviews. There NEEDS to be more folks as you to get more in depth and honest reviews. BTW, I am here in the USA and I bought my Artic GSAR a year ago. I love it. But, it was running +14spd fast. So, I contacted Marathon and it was sent back to Canada. 2 months later it was sent back, no charge and was regulated to now only +1spd. Unreal service. I really think they are a great company.

For an “honest” review, you’ve got to touch on the overall character of the watch, not simply nitpicking the perceived flaws. This is a wonderful watch with almost perfect dimensions. It has *outstanding* legibility-much like a cockpit instrument in an airplane. This is really what you are paying that premium price for.

That’s great! Best of luck with it. The only problem I have with my 556 is I wear it so much my other watches never get any wrist time 😊.

Enjoyed the video! Around $500-$600 US is what I figured it would cost you to repair and service the GSAR from your prior video. And you got a bonus w/ tritium on the second hand! Way better than the maraglow if you ask me. It would have cool if they made a red border around the entire end of the second hand, vs just the small tip

I think ots a possibility with exception of fitting the old back pack plate. I'm certainly not complaining either way. They're indeed great watches. I'm sure if I dropped it I'd be more likely to crack a floor tile than damage the watch 😀

@@onthebench5968Agreed. LOL I could definitely see that happening but I think I would cry if I dropped it. I wonder if the tubes would survive.

You're a good reviewer. You have the potential to be a great one. Hope your channel grows, as I appreciate it's not easy to review watches without some kind of sponser, lending you some to review. I've not owned either brand before, although both are well known in the watch world at least. It's nice to know that both companies did a sterling job though. Think the sinn, looks great on the bund, because it's such a classic style field watch , the strap gives it a bit more character. Marathon watches are a bit busy for my taste, but they always look cool, a bit of a similar vibe to luminox, with the dials etc. I'm defo a diver guy, but as I get older, I appreciate the field watches because of the legibility and clean simple designs. I'm a big seiko fan, but I also like rado, as I feel they offer something different to the market. I have a captain cook in green, with the beads of rice bracelet, and an original diver from the diastar range which is just built like a tank , but it's a unbelievable piece. Most of my watches are of a vintage inspired design , but built with today's materials. Last pick up was my my tudor black bay s and g, and it's a great watch, love it. Been growing my collection up over the last 8 years or so, and currently have about 8 watches. Would like to get down to about 3 watches really, but all the pieces I've acquired have had a lot of thought gone into them. Hence none have gone , as yet, as I still love every one of them in different ways. So to get down to just 3 watches will be a challenge. I don't think I'm up to the challenge, but hey ho, I will probably end up with a dozen , and my son will love getting his hands on my collection !!! One day !!!

Enjoyed the video. Very informative. I would be up for buying a watch that isn’t working and sending it in for repair. Sounds like a nice project. I thought your initial video was too harsh on sinn but now I think it’s a good thing to have these types of videos out there. So hats off to you for that. On another note, I’m looking at buying a sinn 556 A or i and I can’t decide. The i dial being inky black is the one thing that keeps drawing me in. Would you say that it’s too shiny then for you? And would you rather a matte dial over that glossy black?
    Appreciate it

Hi. Many thanks for the comment. Hopefully you won't have the issues I've had, and yup - really not a fan of the clasp.
I'd personally go for the numbered dial if buying again. The face is apparently much more matt. The plain one is way too shiny for my liking, but thats personal opinion and you may like it just fine. Get them on wrist if you can and compare to two

Marathons age HORRIBLY... so many issues. Both guys I know that have one have had tubes come loose and bounce all over the face of the dial under the crystal. I think their watches were less than 10 years old.
Yes, the Sinn H-Link bracelet clasp is bad. Sinn should have updated it years ago.
