    i showed this video to my husband, who wears only TE watches, he has got 3 and all 3 look alike 😂😂. seems TE has somehow hooked people to get into this. Even he says it loses time, but he is okay to wind it and correct it everytime 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ For this new year, he exchanged his fossil watch and got another TE watch - and he is soo satisfied in doing so !!

    Modern mechanical watches are nothing more than jewelry, marketing, gimmicky, and brand name. Mechanical watches haven’t been made well or to any serious specification for decades now. In this way, mechanical watches did not survive the quartz crisis

    I love my Thomas Earnshaw watches. They are beautiful and affordable. The overpriced retail prices are not uncommon in the watch industry. I don't know why you get so worked over this. A little research and you learn to buy them at a deep discount. I buy directly from HK Earnshaw, pay less than $200 (usually much less) and have gotten free watch cases with each purchase on top of free shipping. I knew instantly they were a Hong Kong brand with a fantasy lineage. I doubt many believe it isn't. I think your anger is misplaced. These are beautiful watches at an affordable price. If they were made in England, they would cost $50,000 and few could own one. I happy to have my Earnshaw watches. Buy them cheaply and experience the joys of the hobby.

    If this was 30 quid I'd buy it to have it at home just to look at every so often. Not too sure about wearing it, maybe once in a blue moon. But I think there is something to be said for watches as art pieces, as long as you're not breaking the bank on something you never wear.

    Slight detail, if you are in a Nuclear Winter then multiple nuclear warheads have detotated, the Electro Magnetic Pulse from any of these devices would have fried any unshielded electric devices, including G-Shocks. Best bugout watch for any occation would be an mechanical watch. I am currently trying to decide if I am going to buy this watch, question is what does it offer over my GG-B100?

    My used Sinn 556i with leather strap has nicely machined and finished case, much better than my SPB143 which is about the same price when buying it new. The brushed is fine nothing extraordinary or bad. The bezel does picked up scratches very easily but I don't mind that. The crown threaded very smooth and solid however the last position is a bit stiff to pull out from the date change position. One more thing I really like is the rotor on the winding mechanism is very quiet unlike my other SW200 watches. I don't think this watch is a bad value considering its iconic design and much better value when buying it used.

    I've had my GWG-2000CR for 3 hours. I had been wearing another watch on a silicone strap before this and it felt like the strap of the Mudmaster was ten times stiffer. It's bearable, but not especially comfortable.

  • @nukedathlonman
    @nukedathlonman 7 месяцев назад

    But is it really licensed... Look at it carefully: I mean I don't see any indicator on the front of what movement is being used (genuine one's will), I don't see any of the licensed or copyright indicators on the watch face (just the singular one on the rear - yes that also needs to be there). So, it really genuine???? My gut says that it isn't.

    • @nukedathlonman
      @nukedathlonman 7 месяцев назад

      Hmm, did a lot more digging.... Okay, it seems it is a Disney blessed watch that is licensed... But it is very puzzling how eWatchfactory doesn't have to put the required Disney copywrite and trademark information on the dial for use of the image like other licensed manufacturers are required to do... On the movement, the quartz movement is a Hattori (aka TMI/Epson) PC21S calibre, which is a Japanese design (Sieko)... It is NOT a true Japanese movement, as in the movement is not made in Japan... This is a Sieko mass produced disposable movement that is manufactured in Singapore and China for dirt cheap and for any watch manufacture to use in the cheapest of the cheap watches. 2 year Bat life is normal. Accuracy is +/-30 seconds. It's mostly plastic of course There is a PC21J which is a slightly improved version that gets 3 years bat life and ever so slightly better accuracy. But is +/-20 seconds really that huge of a difference, esp in an uncalibrated movement? Given the approx costs to manufacture and how much these sell for, one think they might have opted for the slightly pennies more costly and "better" PC21J calibre... Meh, it is what it is I suppose - a typical mass produced cut every corner possible inexpensive disposable novelty watch. 😕

    This is the first negative review of a 556 to possibly shed some light on a watch that can do no wrong. Making me think twice about being a step away from buying one. He does seem to misunderstand the purpose of AR coating, and I would prefer it to be only on the underside. But a dial that moves when you operate the crown and a crown stem that grates as you pull it up or push it down? And a lack of structural integrity in the clasp? These watches are 1700 now from the only authorized dealer here. I’m looking elsewhere.

    I think most important here is the manufacturers response and follow through. There are a lot of tricked out watches on the market more and more every day. They claim amazing properties, antimagnetic shock proof, Able to go 3 miles to the ocean floor, etc., etc. And all of these may be true. Maybe maybe not. But everything eventually needs to be serviced, and there is that old saying the more moving parts, the more that can break. The more specialized the more it does the more it needs to go be serviced sometimes directly to the manufacturer as much of the service on these more trick out pieces likely cannot be done while you watch Smith. in the US and common watch Smiths are few and far between and most of them older and often not familiar with a new fangled gadgets people are throwing in watches. So the question becomes what do I do when the watch needs to be serviced? And that where you often find the problem. Now I own a marathon GSAR, and while it has not required servicing, as of yet, I have reached out to Marathon office (when you email their company, the emails answered in Canada) I’ve spoken on a number of occasions with one of the representatives (Joe Jung) who responded to my inquiries no later than 24 hours of my email and often on the same day. Very congenial answered all my questions and even gave me recommendations for when my watch does need to be serviced where I always have the option to send it directly to Marathon. They appear to know the actual people in their service centers. So from a “ insurance” standpoint, I have even greater confidence in what I understand to be a nonsense tank of a product, because should I damage it? I readily know where to send it. And based on all the work you had done to yours and the price you paid that is amazing loyalty to one’s product.
