  • I've been using the Fisher Space Pen Infinium lifetime pen for 3 years (on and off). Here is my video about the pen and how it's holding up after hundreds of days of us.

    I had gotten the chrome version 2 years ago for $75 from one of those EDC knives companies. The cheapest I seen it. Still works great

    I've carried this pen daily for a year and some months, works great! Mine is the silver, black ink variant. No complaints, although I have removed the clip for now to improve ergonomics and help the cap seat better. I've probably written at least a couple hundred pages worth of text in that time and it's still working great
    I too wish I'd weighed it - would be nice to have a benchmark for how much ink is left

    It is a great pen I got mine in black and I was able to request the blue ink when I ordered it from Fisher.

    I bought one over ten years ago and it works great but I don't use it everyday. What I can say is I leave for years at a time without using it and it works first time each time.

    I wish they had a click or twist version of this for ease of use cause i normally just take very quick notes at work and most of the time i have one hand tied and you need 2 hands to remove the cap and having to remove the cap just to write a checkmark and close the pen back up is not worth it a click of this i would buy instantly

    I would like to mention that the Hauser brand is completely unknown in Germany. I have never seen these pens in a German store. They only appear on the non-German market and benefit from the German reputation.

      Thanks for the info! It’s been a pen I enjoy but the name is confusing

      @@unsharpenpretty sure they're made by Flair Pens, and Indian company, using some name they bought off a small company that went out of business or just made up. They're fantastic value though

    I was interested in one of this but I would have like a longer and bit thinner pen. And fountain pens are more interesting 😂

    Presumably you intend on a life time lasting longer than another 3 years, so you should weight it now for comparison another three years down the line, so you could have something to compare to each time then

    Apparently those Bic Round Stics make great containers for 2mm lead if you take out the refill.

      Yes! I’ve seen them used as a case, not a lead holder

    The Infinium was introduced in 2016, so that cost/value equation was wasted on me.
    I cant get beyond the "glooping", so I've gravitated to Tombow's Airpress.
    Great review. Hope the pen never gives up the ghost on you.

      Yea, I’m not sure the value will ever work, you need to appreciate the buy-it-for-life mentality, as it’ll never be cheap enough for the math to make sense

    7:00 Inonder if this sentiment applies more to ballpoints than fountain pens.

    Actually, 1,000 cheap pens would not last you forever they would dry out way before the infinium ever does

    • @unsharpen
      @unsharpen  20 дней назад

      Presumably you would buy the cheaper pens as required, not all today.

    A pen at this price point that blobs. Ridiculous. A 24 euro cent Bic Cristal fine doesn't do that. Fisher still makes way too expensive novelty items

    • @HelplessTeno
      @HelplessTeno 3 месяца назад +3

      Bic Crystals aren't pressurized. The Space Pen has drawbacks because it's meant to write in conditions that other pens can't. You're trying to compare price when price isn't what is making it blob. It's the nature of pressurized pens.
