A more functional version of the famous Omega SMP "James Bond." But this model's oversized and vivid lume applications plus broadsword hands result in a far more readable dial than the 007.
Best,
Tim
I love my 2254.50 and my 2531.80 both. Stunning classics
Man I'm glad I own one of these already! This watch = Omega to me!!
Excellent choice. I own the older 2531.80.00, and I'll never let it go!
Best,
Tim
Just learned about this watch recently. This is gorgeous. Own a PO and a sub, but this one is perfect.
I bought one just like this on your website about a year ago and couldn't be happier. Great watch!!!
Seamaster 2254.50. I love mine! Endless charme.
This model and the blue faced cousin (2255.80) are complete winners for Omega.
I love a watch I can read without my glasses on and 41mm is the perfect size for my wrist. I think I need to try one on.
Peter Blake !
The best handset for diver's 300 imo
D D
Absolutely my friend. Good to see someone calling it by it’s nickname. Have one myself, had it from new since 2003. I’ll never part with it....
never comes off since 2004 ....absolutely gorgeous tool watch ...its time will come when everyone wants one 😅
This was the first "expensive" watch I ever bought when I was in my early 20's. A few years later I sold this watch to buy a Brietling Superocean II. I always regretted it. I miss this watch.
Wow this awesome piece for a breitling ? Lol
Ouch. I had a chance to pick one up a year ago. Now they all appear to be €500 more.
Yeesh what a blunder
@@MovieBulldog Exactly. I made a complete stinker of a decision. But we live and we learn!
First luxury watch i've buyed 😍 a must have, if you love diver is one of the best choice 😊👍 thanks Omega
Would love to see a reissue of this. The homage to the military issued pieces is cool.
Also, damn older omegas are THIN compared to the modern coaxial ones. Hopefully we see omega prioritize thin cases a little more. Don’t need it to be 8mm but would love to see 12mm
We don't need a re-issue, this is still available for 2-3K used. We don't need a co-axial movement either. I've owned this watch since 2006 and it's brilliant.
Tim, your reviews are the best. Please keep it up!
That is a great review, massively informative.
All around its the best watch in my collection. I put mine on an Omega black leather strap and love ❤️ it 🕵🏼♀️
Awesome review. Will definitely pull the trigger when I flip my Seiko
Update I have one and I love it so much!!!
The size and thickness are just perfect and I'm amazed how good it is for a watch that came out in 2001. I had a rolex gmt 2 from the same year and the bracelet on this just blows the rolex out of the water.
I do believe that's a true five-link bracelet with the polished aspects being free floating, segmented link "slices".
Love the look of this watch but not a fan of the case size .. would love to see this made is a 42mm 43.5mm or even 44mm
A future classic!!!!
Excellent watch. I have this one in my collection. Good job Tim Go Navy!...💕🕵🏼♀️
Future classic
I wonder if this one has a silicone hair spring also? Was wondering about the anti magnetive aspect of it ? Otherwise a beautiful watch
I believe that the price of this will more go up high in the feature
Price has already rised a lot. :(
What wears better on a smaller wrist. The 2201 or the 2254?
I purchased mine circa 2000.
Very nice watch!
Much prefer this model than the skeletal hand modern omegas.
regret buying the 2531.80... prefer this model.
Got one on black leather rubber-like Omega strap 98000037 with Omega deployant, looks really nice and it is beautifully thin... No diving tho, want to preserve it. Would have been perfect if it had tritium. Fabulous piece, a keeper in my collection.
If u can chose 1, this 2254 or a new Seamaster 300 master Co-Axial?
This
Just picked up a safe queen and just ecstatic about it. Coaxial is nice for many reasons but I just can't get used to thickness, 2254.50 is the bomb, find one! Trust me.
This.
What's with the end link corners sticking up past the lugs? I have the same watch and mine doesn't do that. They also don't sit flush against the round of the case.
May not be the right end links, they should be 930s.
The endlink at 6-o'clock is distractingly loose.
even better , there was a 37mm version too.
Reference?
@@ATLdonkeh cant remember ,, it was maybe 36 , but it was a handy size , I had a couple of them and traded one for a dynamic 2 , non chrono that was a handy wee daily wear too , really under the radar sort of like a Hamilton field watch in an aviator style .
Is this movement in house?
No.

OMEGA 22.64.50.00 QUARTZ for the win!!!!
Oh dear. You advise to go for soulless simplicity over artistic mechanics? Do you have a heart beating in your chest?
@@simoneverett6081 thats right you snob
Pure cope
@@simoneverett6081 nothing wrong with a good Quartz. More accurate, robust, cheap maintanance. Great watch to set my automatic watches ;)
Sorry for me this isnt a luxury watch, luxury usually doesnt look as ugly and bulky, maybe everyone has his own meaning about luxury
You are right, luxury in watches is quite special. The most popular and luxury show off watches (except the Genta like the AP RO or PP Nautilus but I guesss you find them ugly). Submariner, Seamaster, Navitimer, Blancpain fifty fathoms, IWC pilot.... almost all the luxury watches were built for .... the army, pilots or combat divers. Not the idea we have from luxury.. and yet this is it. Nowadays Marine commandos wear a Gshock much better than a submariner, pilots a Seiko Astron (if they really want the function); nevertheless, these toolwatches, designed as tools, are now luxury symbols. And btw, this Seamaster is a pure horlology masterpiece not far from perfection.I love my 2254. Luxury is also that mine is 20 years old and works like a charm, looks like a charm, one service at my local watchmaker and it's as new inside. Can last forever,
