India batted first but Sachin got out early for just 8 runs. Still India posted a huge total of 309 and in reply, Australia were cruising at 202/3 in 31 overs when Tendulkar came on to bowl
One by one Sachin kept sending the Australian batsmen back to the pavilion and the Aussies had no answer to Sachin clever and intelligent bowling variations.
Sachin picked up 5 wickets for 32 runs in 10 overs - an absolutely brilliant 5-wicket haul to win the match for India despite failing with the bat.

First ever ODI @ Kochi April 1 1998, We (Keralites) all wondered how the crowd and the players survived the hot and humid climate. Many of my friends who went for the match came back like black Coal after spending the entire day in sun with temperature going up to 42 degree C . Remembered for the best bowling figures by the worlds best batsmen of that time, 32-5. Also for the fist look of the thin and nippy Ajith Agarkar.

I remember this match, when bevan and waugh batting at 180/3 power is off then we think aussies easily win this match, but when power is on then we surprise that man of the match given to Sachin Tendulkar for his outstanding bowling.

And he was caught behind in the first game at Margao. Huge noise. Umpire raises his finger and then moved his hat. Aussies cannot believe it. He was in great form throughout except for the final (we lost that but took revenge in Sharjah in April).

Actually 26/3. I remember that match. We lost Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly. Then Azhar and Jadeja made 275 together to take India to 301/3. Azhar scored 153* And Jadeja 116*. There was a flick shot that Azhar played through Midwicket for a boundary, A back of Length ball outside off stump that raised almost to his chest height.

Sachin can bowl offspin, legspin, flipper, googly and topspin.....with so much of variation. Apart from his exquisite batting techniques, if he concentrated little more on his bowling skills, would have got more wickets and wins for India.

Still remember just Came from School Aussies were 3 Down and Waugh and Bevan Cruising , Sachin bowled a spell of his life and Turned the tables no wonder what main bowlers couldn't do he could do !!! If not for his injury and personal issues he would have been a huge asset in 1999 WC bowling ,his bowling he could have dismissed few batsman his bowling could have been handy he may have decieved the batsman using the flight and Mongia could have stumped them !!! Guess we didn't use him properly there :(

1998 was the golden year for second term captaincy of Mohammad Àzharuddin and for the players of his team particularly Ganguly and Tendulkar. Here also he remained indifferent of his own records and the team did miracles making history of unbelievable wins against almost the whole cricket world. Azhar was really a captain of uniqueness and dignity.
His speciality was to love his players and no one can find any sign of negativity eg Sachin was of
his liking and so was Jadeja for him. He particularly mobilised motivated and gave chance by chance to Tendulkar after bringing him in opening and supported him to make records but for the win of India. Perhaps he might not have thought that his country and countrymen would do with him which he never enviged of.Actually where does the problem lie. A sect which is in majority have taken this for granted that Bharat is a Hindu rashtra, though that is not true. For Bharat is a secular republic. And it being run by the constitution, law and the court.And if someone doesn't follow the constitution he is a traitor! simple.So if we don't follow the law then I am saying hey
