The most fluent innings of Kapil Dev and the coolest ever looked when playing on the up or the cover drive👏👏 This is the Kapil Dev who inspired the whole country - unflinching, no neeves and committed.
Hardik Pandya is more than the replacement for Kapil paji. Prime Kapil Paji was clueless in late 1980s & early 1990s when Pakistan was riding on India in ODIs & Tests
Amazing inning Kapil Dev had played. He was very fit player. we can't find any alrounder like Kapil Dev again. Today's players specially get unfit so quickly.
The match was already lost at this stage. He just threw his bat and it came off. And by the way, he did nothing in the series in crucial moments, neither with bat or ball. Also in wc 92 he flopped, as india finished 8th!
@@IITianProudIndian Kapil was past his best. His final great series was in Australia 1991-1992 where he took 25 wickets. I am only talking about this particular knock, not his performance in the rest of the series with bat and ball.

Ordinary boys came and went, including a couple in the present setup. But none can match Kapil Dev. If India manages to find a bowling all-rounder like him, India will be lucky.
One of the finest innings during his last phase of cricketing career. That unusual pull of his hips was a run producing machine, scoring from good length balls too. This is similar to how Dhoni played the helicopter shot.

Nobody could change the complexion of the game like Kapil and for thar matter Botham too Kapil was great talent.Rarely got out due to bowlers ability .mostly Kapil brought his dismissal himself.
Such a treat to watch the artistic touch of the body- footwork, shoulders, hands, and wrists, the use of the bat like a pen in the act of calligraphy. Watched this piece so many times, always with great appreciation and respect for this magnificent all rounder....
He was ahead of his time for batting. Look at some of the drives and pulls against high-quality bowling on a testing pitch. In this innings, his first 50 came in 95 deliverables. Obviously, he had to curb his natural instinct as India was struggling and then started the onslaught. Had he followed this mode for his other innings, he could have easily scored 7000+ runs in Test. I think India didn't have a good batting coach during that time, who could help Kapil improve his batting temperament or a little bit on defensive technique.
India did not have any of the resources the other test playing nations had, including Pakistan. Think about what a team Pakistan had in those days, you could not get them all out twice in a match! Kapil shone despite that!
Not 145-150 probably 148-155kph. He's called White lightning for a reason. He also has deadly slower balls, yorkers, in swingers.. absolutely deadly...and you're so true that Kapil treated him like a club bowler
the only natural cricketer India has produced . his effortless batting , his smoothest approach to the wicket and delivering the ball were a treat to watch .
I haven't seen one single cricketer as talented and as courageous as kapildev may be I could name dhoni in the ranks of kapildev ! But no other cricketer comes to my mind ! Records nothing to do with winning a game, but kapil & dhoni won many matches for india.

Whenever you play; played for the Nation put 200% effort that too alone taking support from tail enders May the good God give you long live Kapil.
South Africa's then Vintage Team were stunned, as Kapil Dev's 129 single-handedly took India from 31-6 to 215. It requires a humongous effort to do so. 😄👏 Incredible Innings.

Ranking of top 5 100s by an Indian - VVS Laxman - 281 - against the best bowling attack at that point in time, pivotal knock that turned around Indian Cricket; Virender Sehwag - 309 - liberated Indian psyche, the mental block; Sunil Gavaskar - 236 not out - against the best bowling attack, till date; Rahul Dravid - 233 AND, one of the 3 hundreds by Kapil Dev, 129 against SA, 100 in the tied test against Australia, 100 against WI in Chennai - the fact that Kapil played these great knocks speaks volumes about his greatness, statistics can never capture his greatness!!!!
No bro Kapil Dev was after all a human man, throughout his career he was the only worthwhile fast bowler in the Indian side. He had to managed 2 departments and he did a fabulous job in one and a damn good one in the other, balling and batting respectively. Imran Khan had Akram, Younis & Sarfaraz, Gary Sobers had Wes Hall, Griffith, Gilchrist; Kallis had Steyn, Pollock, Ntini. Kapil Dev had no one he was a one man army.
Legend has it that on the flight to Port Elizabeth (before the test) one of the SA passengers came up to Kapil Dev and gave him a small note book. Kapil asked him "What for?". The passenger replied "You can take notes from the South Africans on how to play cricket". This spurred Kapil to play this fantastic knock. I do not know how far it is true, but i had read it in a magazine nearly 30 years ago.
Very fortunate to follow Kapil paaji right from his debut in Faislabad way back in 1978. Salute to you Kapil sir for stunning catch you took in 1983 wc final.
"When Kapil flexes his muscles and produces a broad smile, that means trouble; trouble to the opponents". That was not my caption. I recalled from The Sports Star of the late Eighties. As a batsman, he was a killer. He had low back lift, number one in late cut, his hooks and lofts were perfect. His flash over point return the ball to the turf after hitting the boundary wall. His scoring rate was always high. A match winner. Personally, he was a good man
What Sunil Gavaskar said about Kapil, Another Gavaskar can be produced by India but can't be second Kapil Dev.It is 100% true Yet we haven't produced another Kapil Dev What a classic bowler and batsman ! He was.

The same guy who made 5 out of 65 and someone in the commentary box who loves more dot balls makes the irony for this situation. Yet RS has also displayed aggressive innings many a times. Need to appreciate. But could have avoided such slow batting, at least 1 run in 3 balls could have changed the game away....Kapilji proved on so many occasions...175 not out in 1983, four sixes to avoid follow on with one wicket remaining, this 129, and many more...He is undeniably THE LEGEND...GENTLEMAN OF SPORTS...INDIA WILL NEVER GET A MAN LIKE HIM...WHAT AN ALL ROUNDER....! @@ajayshah1950 Yeah , we are talking of contemporary times... Who knew cricket in 1936 except British or few maharajas... The modern version of International cricket began after the World Cup was launched in 1975.
What did S. Mushtaq Ali achieved then in that match?

The Natraj of cricket Kapil Dev 🙏👏👏
The moment i saw this comment I could see the Narthanam of Kapildev with his willow.
Marvelous Inning. Once again proved why he is Great Kapil Dev.
The most fluent innings of Kapil Dev and the coolest ever looked when playing on the up or the cover drive👏👏 This is the Kapil Dev who inspired the whole country - unflinching, no neeves and committed.
The fact that we have not found a replacement still 30 years after his retirement, speaks volumes of his contribution.
True
Very true
This legend can never be replaced
Hardik Pandya is more than the replacement for Kapil paji.
Prime Kapil Paji was clueless in late 1980s & early 1990s when Pakistan was riding on India in ODIs & Tests
@@soundar4270 Hardik opens the bowling for India? That's interesting.
Amazing inning Kapil Dev had played. He was very fit player. we can't find any alrounder like Kapil Dev again. Today's players specially get unfit so quickly.
Probably his best century, against a world-class SA attack, in foreign conditions.
This century at hi end of his career , scoring 129 vs South African mighty bowling attack including Alan Donald . Look at his hooks and drives that shows only one all rounder in Indian cricket who can bat and bowl seamlessly . No one can match him.. of course cricket is a team game why only Kapil is criticised for his consistency . He lead World Cup victory as a team and batted 175 is match winning innings ..
@@jkrishnaraj People these days don't appreciate the genius of ex-cricketers. Kapil Dev will always be the greatest Indian all-rounder ever and one of the greatest ever in world cricket. Ordinary boys came and went, including a couple in the present setup. But none can match Kapil Dev. If India manages to find a bowling all-rounder like him, India will be lucky.
@@IITianProudIndian not to forget 1983 WC victory please.
Devv was A legend . Genuine allrounder...
MY REAL SUPERMAN SINCE MY CHILDHOOD AND 1 OF D GREATEST ALLROUNDER I EVER SEEN AND STILL BELIEVE HE IS NO 1 TILL NOW, LOVE U SIR
Remarkably a great allrounder never before never after and still nobody replaced his place in Indian cricket team.
One of the finest innings during his last phase of cricketing career.
That unusual pull of his hips was a run producing machine, scoring from good length balls too. This is similar to how Dhoni played the helicopter shot.
Kapil Dev the greatest allrounder ever played cricket
Kapil Dev. The greatest all rounder and fighter the cricketing world has ever seen.
Jis allrounder ne world Cup jeet ke diya 434 wicket liya 1000 run banaya world Cup me first 175 bananre wala kapil Dev Vo dekh ke Bhi kisi school college university company society ya sarkar ne 7/8 Saal ke bache ko train kiya hota to aj dusra kapil Dev mil Gaya hota
My childhood hero, He made India proud and cricket the most papular.
One of the greatest test match innings ever played. Counterattack at its best.
D
Praji -- my childhood hero, the greatest Indian cricketer!
When the going gets tough, tough gets going. That suits well for Kapil. Most of his centuries came when we were folding or in dire situations.
He always fought well on bouncy tracks & this innings is one of the great knocks in Test cricket history considering the situation.
Who can forget his 175* in 1983 World cup??
Nobody could change the complexion of the game like Kapil and for thar matter Botham too
Kapil was great talent.Rarely got out due to bowlers ability .mostly Kapil brought his dismissal himself.
Durban was a dangerous pitch during those days and Allan Donald was on fire.
One of the greatest Test Knocks by an Indian.....
Kapil Dev is a great player! A real hero! Rarely failed to perform in foreign pitches!
Such a treat to watch the artistic touch of the body- footwork, shoulders, hands, and wrists, the use of the bat like a pen in the act of calligraphy. Watched this piece so many times, always with great appreciation and respect for this magnificent all rounder....
Thanks sir for keen observation.
This innings of Kapil finds a place in top 100 innings of all time in test cricket...
True! And I never knew about this knock!
The Great All-rounder's Master Stroke . What A Splendid Innings .
Real hero and Great player of the world
Very nice person 🌹💐🇮🇳🇮🇳
KAPIL DA KA JAWAAB NAHI 👍🇮🇳
Pamolive da jawab nahi Kapila ad
Thanks for the long waited upload! Allan Donald at his peak 145-150 KMPH- Kapil treats him like a club bowler🙏🙏🙏
Not 145-150 probably 148-155kph. He's called White lightning for a reason. He also has deadly slower balls, yorkers, in swingers.. absolutely deadly...and you're so true that Kapil treated him like a club bowler
He was hitting Donald as if Donald is a gali bowler
Looks that way in the highlights, if you watch the full match ball by ball, Donald was seriously scary
the only natural cricketer India has produced .
his effortless batting , his smoothest approach to the wicket and delivering the ball were a treat to watch .
Best all rounder Great. Innings. Superb century. Against Africa the best attack
Kapil showed how to play under pressure. But none followed his footstep until Yuvaraj came. He was the real successor of Kapil. 🙏🙏🙏
Always inspirational, a timeless legend who will command respect for generations to come🇮🇳🙏
One of the best century by KAPIL DEV after 175 not out against Zimbabwe....unfortunately it was his last century in international career
Nice playing byHon. Kapil Dev;देव of indian क्रिकेट टीम!
I haven't seen one single cricketer as talented and as courageous as kapildev may be I could name dhoni in the ranks of kapildev ! But no other cricketer comes to my mind ! Records nothing to do with winning a game, but kapil & dhoni won many matches for india.
Kapil paji is a legend. Palmolive da jawab nahi!
My all time favorite,Kapil and Gavaskar, they started the belief.hats off to them❤
Iam watching Kapil's batting right from his debute this is also one of the best salvaging innings:
But the way he got out at the end was like a beginner he did not move towards the ball
Kade Kade koshis Kiya out ogeya
We love you very much Kapil!
Whenever you play; played for the Nation put 200% effort that too alone taking support from tail enders
May the good God give you long live Kapil.
look at Ravi Shastri... 5 from 65 balls. even if thats a test match... and this man is giving lectures on the betterment of Indian cricket
I still wonder how could this man coach the Indian team!
Total waste-that is sasthri. And going gaga in the commentary box.!!!!!!!!!

South Africa's then Vintage Team were stunned, as Kapil Dev's 129 single-handedly took India from 31-6 to 215. It requires a humongous effort to do so. 😄👏 Incredible Innings.
🏆AHEAD OF HIS TIME 👏
Imagine if he was playing 40 years later in T20 and IPL, he would be incomparable.
Great Kapil - this is what life & cricket is all about. Coming out all guns blazing…

Kapil Da Jawaab Nahi
The Super Legendary.
Well said

Kapil's 176 against literally knock out match of WC in 1983 against Zimbabwe one of the best ODI knock.

What about Sachin's hundred in Perth in 1992 that saved follow on.?
What about about Sachin's 169 runs that saved match against south Africa
One of the finest all rounders in cricket world and we have grown up listening his stories
Who can forget that 4 sixes to save followon against England. I agree that he did not do full justice to his talent as a batsman.
सही, भूलने लायक नहीं है
Legend has it that on the flight to Port Elizabeth (before the test) one of the SA passengers came up to Kapil Dev and gave him a small note book. Kapil asked him "What for?". The passenger replied "You can take notes from the South Africans on how to play cricket". This spurred Kapil to play this fantastic knock. I do not know how far it is true, but i had read it in a magazine nearly 30 years ago.
How confidentiality Kapil dev played Allen donald.clean hitter & fighter cricketer
He was.
Another gem of an innings from the great Kapil. Thanks for the video.
Feel if this was in a winning cause!!! becoz no other 'angels' played well this diamond studded innings did not get winn!!! 🎇👍🏻shame on top order 'angel's!!!!!
Greatest all rounder of all time.love to watch his game. What a human being. Absolutely tellented player. India cant produce another kapil dev.Deserving Bharat Ratna,
I have never seen any Indian player has such of courage in entire history of the GAME other than Kapil & DHONI ❤❤❤
Not even Sachin nor kohli
Greatest Sir Dearest Kapil Dev
Is icon of lndia cricket.
Salute sir.
Kapildevji is a LEGEND. A gentle stern HERO..No can can match him in character, sportsmanship, discipline, ethics, spirit and what not. If there is anything more than Bharat Ratna, he is the only one to deserve. His seriousness is contagious to serious people. BLESSED...Will the govt wake up to Honour this LEGEND OF ALL TIMES? SOME OF YOU FAMOUS IN TWITTER, PL INITIATE A SPECIAL CELEBRATION FOR KAPILJI. IT'S LIKE HONOURING INDIA....
Kapil Dev was such a natural on the cricket field. A born cricketer and a true legend!!
Beautiful innings. What a personality Kapil Dev.
Thanks for sharing.
Preferably this is best test innings batting at no 7 for India in tests. Kapil paaji played a blinder in this 1992 ka second innings with 129 runs. Team scored 215 only in second innings. Top 6 Indian batsmen got out in single digits. India lost this test. First loss for India in South Africa ever in 1992. Saw it live
I am a great fan of Sourav Ganguly but unurguably it's Kapil Dev's 1983 that changed the whole scenario of Indian cricket - from then onwards we started to believe that " yes " we also can .
Real Hero of Indian cricket, A thorough gentleman. Hats of to him.
The best bowling all rounder in history of cricket.
Kapil what a great innings from a legend
What a knock under pressure.
He made me watch cricket. He was the goat.
See his reaction after hitting a huge six and also compare with the attitude of today's player. Shouting jumping.
