A quarter panel isn't a structural component if you repair an outer panel correctly replacing the quarter panel is 150 welds on the inner structure going to the guy in the blue shirt, if you replace a quarter panel your compromise is on the inner structure that may not be damaged

Cycle time is also saved on repair outer panel properly, an outer panel is not a structural component reason they also make body tabs inner structure for a fender impact

I would repair the outer at possible 248 mpa tensile strength before I comprised the inner structure

I agree at many points and see it daily. The cycle times are unrealistics and many times is simple ,basic things like reading the RO correctly. Providing essential training and following up with that training is key. Effective communication from start to finish

Insurance company always trying to save money on parts and repairs ...they are the real problem ....they always go to cheap replacement parts and cheap on labor ...the bodyshop has to follow the insurance rules in order to renew the contract every year ...not our fault .

The body shop tends to cut corners. Who's to say they actually bought oem products as opposed to buying off brand stuff. Thts just one example

Insurance writes a estimate and the monkeys get commission and they beat the time in half . It comes down on the manager how much is he trying to push out the door . Insurance pays zero time for let down panels and buffing and that’s bs .

PRI - the biggest boondoggle in the industry .... Start at your insurance companies , it's not the shops fault 95% of the time . It's the damn adjuster . I got out of this industry because the money kept getting smaller and smaller . Insurance companies are always wanting to save a dollar . This truckles down to the shop doing the work .
I've always loved reading larry and Kristens posts , but I just cannot get on board this post repair nonsense . About half of the crap I see complained about isn't anywhere near a safety concern . And really , taking a car apart that was just repaired ? Sounds like icing your own cake because you didn't get the job ...
