I anchored my soul with Jesus 65 years ago. Now it's time for me to go home. Jesus said be not afraid I'll walk with you to meet my Father. Thank you Jesus!
When they started encouraging and playing off each other, it was obvious God's Spirit took over! Best I 've ever seen! Everything gets better when that happens!
Timeless gift from God. Think about this. Adrian Rodgers died in 2005 and his messages still reach the hearts of lost people today. GOD'S MESSAGE HAS NO END!!! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!!
Glen Payne singing this song and in this manner just months before he took his rest was for me very prophetic. He sure did know where he was going. I pray my journey will be as rewarding as well.

Yes Richard, It is a wonderful song. The world desparately needs a haven of rest. What a wonderful discovery when we find we can run into the arms of the living God for that rest, protection and restoration for free.
I first heard this song via short wave radio during the early sixties as a new believer in the Philippines. The signal would sometimes fade and I would press my ears on the radio just to listen. It was then sang by the original Haven of Rest Quarttette and I would imagine a schooner being battered by an angry storm somewhere in he eastern seaboard and finding refuge in the Anchor of our souls- our Lord Jsus Christ.
I absolutely love this song. As my grandfather was lying on his death bed back in March, I sang this song to him and he was filled with so much peace. He passed a couple days later and this song will always be on memory in of him. BTW, Guy's is beyond amazing.
My soul in sad exile was out on life’s sea, So burdened with sin and distressed, Till I heard a sweet voice, saying, “Make Me your choice”; And I entered the “Haven of Rest”! Refrain: I’ve anchored my soul in the “Haven of Rest,” I’ll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep, In Jesus I’m safe evermore. I yielded myself to His tender embrace, In faith taking hold of the Word, My fetters fell off, and I anchored my soul; The “Haven of Rest” is my Lord.
To give your heart to God and trust in God and believe in him he will be there for you he loves us reguardless of what we have done our sins are forgiven he said cast your burdens unto him he cares for you what a wonderfull saviour we serve hes mighty and holy and wants to love you
1.My soul in sad ex-ile wax out on life's sea, So burden-ed with sin and dis-tressed, Till I heard a sweet voice saying "Make me your choice;" And I entered the "Ha-ven of Rest." I've anchor-ed my soul in the "Ha-ven of Rest," I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tem-pest may sweep o'er the wild storm-y deep; In Je-sus I'm safe ev-er-more. 2.I yield-ed my-self to His ten-der em-brace, And faith tak-ing Hold of the Word, My fet-ters fell off, and I anchor-ed my soul; The "Ha-ven of Rest" is my Lord. I've anchor-ed my soul in the "Ha-ven of Rest," I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tem-pest may sweep o'er the wild storm-y deep; In Je-sus I'm safe ev-er-more. 3.The song of my soul, since the Lord made me whole, Has been the old sto-ry so blest, Of Je-sus who'll save who-so-ev-er will have A home in the "Ha-ven of Rest." I've anchor-ed my soul in the "Ha-ven of Rest," I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tem-pest may sweep o'er the wild storm-y deep; In Je-sus I'm safe ev-er-more.

The Haven Of Rest was written in October's of 1971. It was written in Flemish. I had come through heroine withdrawals and 10 days of mania. Finally I was able to rest. I wrote the first verse and chorus in Flemish. My father wrote the second verse in Flemish. My father also wrote a descant part in Flemish. The song was translated into Tussex by my mother.
