I grew up in a missionary baptist church playing piano for the congregation every service. These hymns bring me tears of joy, and I am so thankful the Lord Jesus saved my soul, and one day I will spend eternity with my Savior!! God bless you Collingsworth family!
Lord, please move on your people, to bring these meaningful songs back to the church, and get away from the rock concerts. Let the world have its ways. Keep these wonderful old songs in the church.
I have recently become a Christian. I was singing this hymn in Japanese at church, but I discovered through this video that it is "The Haven of Rest." Amen🙏🙏
I woke up very early with this hymn in my head! I hadn’t sung this in many years! I looked it up on RUclips and found many versions of it, but the familiar cord changes weren’t there until I found yours! This is how I remember our congregation singing this song! What a blessing it is to hear it as I remember, with the beautiful cord changes and lovely voices! May our Lord Jesus continue to bless your music!
I miss those old gospel songs. We don’t see them in our church no more and I don’t understand why it’s always temporary songs and I don’t like it No feelings to it meaningless my heart to know that our church don’t sing anymore don’t know why they stop the New Age songs😢 my heart is breaking what is going on in the church and I’m Pentecostal😢 heavenly father, please open they’re😢eyes bring back the old-fashioned songs, gospel songs, something to it😢 please pray for my church that they may go back to the gospel songs something into it😊
My soul in sad exile was out on life's sea, So burdened with sin and distressed, Till I heard a sweet voice, saying, "Make Me your choice"; And I entered the "Haven of Rest"! I've anchored my soul in the "Haven of Rest, " I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep, In Jesus I'm safe evermore. I yielded myself to His tender embrace, In faith taking hold of the Word, My fetters fell off, and I anchored my soul; The "Haven of Rest" is my Lord. I've anchored my soul in the "Haven of Rest, " I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep, In Jesus I'm safe evermore. O come to the Savior, He patiently waits To save by His power divine; Come, anchor your soul in the "Haven of Rest, " And say, "My Beloved is mine." I've anchored my soul in the "Haven of Rest, " I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep, In Jesus I'm safe evermore.
Can't beat the hymns it's the foundation without foundation nothing can stand that's why so many of today's music can never compare one of my favourite hymns by the way
Could you imagine being a friend of one of these and they invited you over for thanksgiving or Christmas and heaven proceeded to come down. I’m kind of homesick for a land I’ve not seen yet.
1 My soul in sad exile was out on life's sea, So burdened with sin, and distressed, Till I heard a sweet voice saying, "Make Me your choice," And I entered the haven of rest. Refrain: I've anchored my soul in the haven of rest, I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep o'er the wild stormy deep, In Jesus I'm safe evermore. 2 I yielded myself to His tender embrace, And faith taking hold of the word, My fetters fell off, and I anchored my soul: The haven of rest is my Lord. [Refrain] Refrain: I've anchored my soul in the haven of rest, I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep o'er the wild stormy deep, In Jesus I'm safe evermore. 5 Oh, come to the Savior, He patiently waits To save by His power divine; Come, anchor your soul in the haven of rest, And say, "My Beloved is mine." [Refrain] Refrain: I've anchored my soul in the haven of rest, I'll sail the wide seas no more; The tempest may sweep o'er the wild stormy deep, In Jesus I'm safe evermore.
Keaton Family - Bless you for posting your beautiful videos. Especially these times when attending church is difficult. I get so blessed when I listen to you all sing. These days are so hard. Being quarantined - so much unrest and violence. We need to hear about Jesus and his grace and mercy and protection. thanks again.
This shows what it is like to have the Lord Jesus Christ at the center of the family.. You may be separated by time and distance but the family, when it comes back together is united and held together by one belief, one creed, and LOVE for their Lord. As the family grows it is a ever widening circle as the young learn from their elders. God bless this beautiful family.
I've Anchored My Soul In The Haven Of Rest! What a wonderful song! Shalom Aleichem Mishpocahs ❤️! May The Grace Of Our Lord Yeshua Hamashiac/Jesus Christ be with your spirits amen, as it is written. 🌾💒✈️🙌🏻
Brooke has an amazing voice...but what a gifted Family....one day we'll all get to stand around the Throne of The Almighty together and maybe sing this song...with more basses....thanx
When I saw this video, I was moved. Men, women, children and adults are praising together. Although we have different nationalities, but we are all children of the same Lord. Let us praise together one day. May God bless you all. From Milan
I find myself listening to this song again. My Dad passed away in December while I was in the hospital fighting for my life. I can’t help but to think he’s in the haven of rest with our maker. At the time I clearly had no clue just how much my life would be impacted; especially by a pandemic. 💔🤍🤞🏼
I come from a singing family..when we would get together we would sing hymns. The last time, there were about 65 of us..we were Church of Christ, so we did not use a piano...good memories...I now lead singing, a couple times a month, at a Southern Baptist Church. The older members love it when I break one of these older songs. I'm leading this Sunday, and this song will be in the service..
Wonderful tenor! Jesus is our Haven!! Very nice song with deeper meaning! Play by Collingsworth is very good and the last verse singer has sung very nicely!
I just can not stop listening to this. I grew up is small country Appalachian Baptist Church with the Redback Hymnal but I never remember singing this song. It is pure awesome and I love the family around the piano.
Melancholic. I am sure you are not only do strict discipline in excercise and training but also you all are talented. You have helpef my spiritual state inspire I don't know who you are all. You're blessed.
I have often said that the Collinsworth Family has a unique anointing of God on their ministry. I see that in this family as well. What a great heritage. You are doing something here that will not only bless us, but these young people who are singing. They wll never forget the Spirit of God blessing as you sing. Sing on children! It will not be long until we sing around the throne of God.
My church still sings hymns like this every Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening. Come and join us at Pembina Valley Baptist Church, Winkler Manitoba Canada. We also live stream all our services with the hymn singing, so please join us.
My sister passed away Christmas Eve 2017, & this song reminds me of how great it is to be with our Maker right now in the Haven of Rest. I love this song, amazing job! I'd love to come sing with you guys!
Years have come and gone. I’ve failed God but he has never failed me. In this . I keep trusting and seeking him through it all. Prayers would be greatly appreciated. Love your family
So nice to hear this song repeatedly! I am never getting bored of this repetition of hearing the same song so many times! God bless Kim Collingsworth and the entire team!!
I enjoy the old songs that I was growing up to listen to please keep it up with more old songs and that filled my heart very much and God bless you all very much

What a wonderful song with rich music and deeper meaning! Kim Collingsworth has wonderfully played and the last stanza was sung by the soloist amazingly! Very good choir, specially the tenor voice!!

What a true blessing these videos have been to see. Praise God for this family and may these videos continue to Bless others. Oh how touched and moved I was. Thank You!
I want to cry when I compare this type of music to what is found in most churches nowadays. How much we have lost!
I agree.
For in the Last Days, there will be a great falling away. We are closer now, more than ever for His return.
Nothing like the older stuff I love it
I totally agree! Hope it comes back around with a revival!
Yes, totally agreed! The 7-11 choruses that are sung on repeat in so many churches are so shallow!😥
I grew up in a missionary baptist church playing piano for the congregation every service. These hymns bring me tears of joy, and I am so thankful the Lord Jesus saved my soul, and one day I will spend eternity with my Savior!! God bless you Collingsworth family!
The older I get, the more I've gone back to the old hymns. This was a great rendition of an old one.
Lord, please move on your people, to bring these meaningful songs back to the church, and get away from the rock concerts. Let the world have its ways. Keep these wonderful old songs in the church.
Find a King James only independent fundamental Baptist church. Im sure there is one in your town.
@@richh3814 some Pentecostal churches and united Methodist churches also are only traditional music, hymns only

My soul in sad exile was out on life’s sea,

Till I heard a sweet voice, saying, “Make Me your choice”;

Refrain:
I’ve anchored my soul in the “Haven of Rest,”

In Jesus I’m safe evermore.
I yielded myself to His tender embrace,
In faith taking hold of the Word,
My fetters fell off, and I anchored my soul;
The “Haven of Rest” is my Lord.
The song of my soul, since the Lord made me whole,
Has been the old story so blest,
Of Jesus, who’ll save whosoever will have
A home in the “Haven of Rest.”
How precious the thought that we all may recline,
Like John, the beloved so blest,
On Jesus’ strong arm, where no tempest can harm,
Secure in the “Haven of Rest.”
Oh, come to the Savior, He patiently waits
To save by His power divine;
Come, anchor your soul in the “Haven of Rest,”
And say, “My Beloved is mine.”
