2:00 This is a pretty sneaky reference indeed. The answers to the puzzles are "Truck" and "Pizza", which is of course a reference to the infamous Pizza Planet Truck from the movie series "Toy Story".
Gotta love the pizza planet truck references
I think what makes wordle speedrunning so fascinating is that the game is so incredibly open-ended. You could probably spend the rest of your life trying to come up with strategies and probably still have something to discover.
I got GEESE, TRUCK AND HIPPO but I’m embarrassed I had to use a solver to find the word PIZZA when I was talking about it with someone lmao
I'm glad you actually used my playlist idea
Your videos are super entertaining and everything is explained very well, keep it up!
Cool video! Eventually would it be cool to see a documentary of how the best sets came to be (for speedle and nyt lists), but this is still a cool topic to touch on. Beginners probably should probably stick to a 3 or 4 word set (or a hybrid set which I've done a little experimenting when making). I feel like you should put the set info doc somewhere because it documents all of this information on a single document.

Great work on this video, Pokecheese! It's super informative and well-presented!
Regarding strategies for beginners, I would advise using a 4-word set at first, and then switching to a 3-word set if you intend to rise to the very top of the leaderboard. A few months ago, I started with my own 4-word set (FUDGE PRINT SHOCK BALMY), which is decently good but not *that* good. After becoming more comfortable with the answer list, I switched to SPLAT MIRED GONCH and that's worked great for me ever since!
Switching Balmy Fudge for Blame Fudgy gets you more greens on average (idk about other statistics though)
@@owenaspinall2046 Thanks for the tip! I found the set by writing an admittedly terrible program and haven't used it for a few months. However, if I want to use a four-word set again, I'll keep it in mind!

How to win every Wordle in 1
I think that for people wanting to be the best, the approach should be to find the best add-on to some very good 4-word sets. They can start with a good 4 word set, and then move to an excellent 3 word set when ready. Also, you should switch to using 1/n in these videos, in my opinion it's the superior metric because you get more words right
Yep. 1/n is the way to go, it takes account for the fact that big ambiguous pairs are big and small ones are small. HOWEVER, 0 ambiguity pretty much means the maximum 1/n, because every answer has its own unique colouring.
Hey, new player looking to learn - where can I find resources, sets, guides, and community?
GEESE, TRUCK, PIZZA, HIPPO is what I got for the 4 hidden words
0:10 Geese? I know plurals normally aren’t on the word list but Geese might be an exception.
2:05 Truck and Pizza
3:10 Hippo
Loved the video, and I find it interesting how Plonk is in a few of the sets, I’ve been using it since my second wordle, and always thought it was more middle of the pack but I guess I was wrong
Just because a word is in a perfect set doesn't mean it's the best
Perfect sets require really specific and sometimes unusual letter positions which aren't really good on their own
PLONK has fine letter placements though, but k doesn't give that much info
@@bluerednotpurple Well what I’m trying to say is I always thought Plonk was middle of the pack in all situations, I was more expressing surprise that it had good situational use. I currently use it in a 4 word set, being Stare Plonk Chimb Fudgy, which is one of the best uses for it (besides this) in my opinion because it puts the O and K in spots where they very commonly are. I do get what you mean though.
@@itmightbevid yeah what you said here really makes sense. I mean Plonk isn't terrible in some situations but it's not amazing, so middle of the pack like you said.
@@itmightbevid also K is more common than W
It would be cool/ interesting to have a program that evaluates your personal starting set.
Okay, not to be rude, but, what’s happening? You’ve never been on such a long hiatus on uploading. Does this have anything to do with the Bill-C11 thing that was passed? Or are you just working on something big and/or grinding runs?
I'm Canadian and I can still upload so its not that
Lovely video!

I think the flame one
Pizza! Love it when an answer is food 🤤🍕
every 3 months i come back for the nostalgia so sad 😭
true
how do these sets do for the full wordle list?
CHUBS PERVE FLOWN MIDGY KATAL is the best one for the nyt wordlist with 29 ambiguity. For reference, the best (known) set for nyt list is VERGE SPILL CHOTT FAWNY DUMBO with 16 ambiguity. It isn't too unlikely that there is a better set than that one though, especially since removing the O at the end of DUMBO is 17 ambiguity, making it almost a wasted letter spot.
Honestly not that great lol, the set in this vid actually does worse in the official list than bundt swive hamal porgy flock does (47 ambiguous words vs 34)
the best known 5 word set for the official list gets down to 16 ambiguous words (verge spill chott fawny dumbo)
@@Pokecheeese but I thought there was zero ambiguity
@@locomotivetrainstation6053 0 ambiguity for the Speedle/Hellowordl lists (which are different from the nyt lists)
@@bluerednotpurple yeah a K would be good to add
5:35 truck pizza hippo geese
I tried this in an Octordle, but immediately got an ambiguous letter set... :(
The word was STAKE, I guessed SKATE. I think this means that the BUNDT set is better? Idk.
This is just intense. I must be getting old 😬
Why'd you leave? please come back im so sad i miss you
Same here. If I had to guess, wordle became irrelevant and he couldn't come up with any other ideas for videos
@@UnknownRager96 wordle is never irrelevant

It's is a contraction of the words it and is, so if your sentence contains 'it's' see if the sentence still makes sense with 'it is' instead of 'it's'. For example, "It's a long story" would be "It is a long story". It's can also denote 'it has', in the case of 'It's already finished' --> 'It has already finished'. Its is belonging to or associated with a thing previously mentioned or easily identified and is a determiner. For example, you can say 'Turn the camera on its side' because the camera is the only object mentioned in the sentence.
If you were to replace the it's with it is, the sentence would not grammatically make sense: "...is a viable set in it is own right." does not make much sense. Please reflect back on this and change this. Thank you for your understanding, you have been let off by the Grammar Police. Please try not to do this again as you will lose more Grammar Credit Points, your GCP currently stands at 855.
TL;DR *it's
You dont have to correct something. You just explained most of the reasoning.
0:09 geese
2:05 first word is truck?
Are there any 5 word sets that use 25 different letters? To me, that would be a perfect set.
There are some like vozhd waqfs glent brick jumpy and fjord nymph vibex waltz gucks but they aren't perfect (explained in the read more)
He made a video on the vozhd one explaining if the answer is siren rinse resin or risen there's no way to tell which one it is
All of the sets that have 25 unique letters are pretty bad for the speedle list, the best one (blunk cimex grypt vozhd waqfs) has 28 ambiguity, which is bad compared to 0.
One of the perfects (burnt chogs advew mifty spall) has 21 unique letters (missing jkqxz)
@@bluerednotpurple mpret shawl clink fudgy above, 22 letters, 0 ambiguity, highest green average
@@locomotivetrainstation6053 yeah because those positions are pretty common in that set
Remember, common does not mean better and more unique letters doesn't always mean better
@@bluerednotpurple your strat doesn't have less ambiguity tho, why is common positions + K worse than that, 0 is still 0
Fun fact: This set does not work for Squabble, because Mpret does not work
This set doesn’t work for StriveMath either, because Fudgy doesn’t work
The best 3 word set: daily store munch
splat mired gonch splat mired gonch splat mired gonch
Clone sprad might
@@thenamelessdragonfish True, CLONE SPRAD MIGHT slightly better for ambiguity! However, SPLAT MIRED GONCH is just so easy to type that I feel like that outweighs the difference in ambiguity.
@@thenamelessdragonfish splat mired gonch still better for 1/n, and combined with its typability its a decent amount better
