- Two suspects claiming to be DTE workers killed a homeowner and restrained his wife with duct tape at a home in Rochester Hills on Friday, officials say.

Anybody comes over to your home and I mean anybody you don’t let them in…you ask where they work…you don’t get the number from them…you look it up yourself you call and to verify… never and I mean, never trust anyone

This country would be very safe if every state had Florida's governor, prosecutor, sheriff Grady and Oakland counties sheriff. My brother worked for him and I met him a couple times. He is a solid man. But just like everywhere Oakland county has good and bad deputies.

They weren't allowed entrance last night, but came back and was allowed in the next morning? I would have checked with DTE last night to verify. If DTE didn't send them, and they showed up, I wouldn't have opened the door, but called the cops. I don't open the door for anyone I don't know or not expecting. My condolences to the husband.

My gas company sent me a letter to call them and set up an appointment for an inspection. I don't think they randomly show up at peoples homes. If they do don't allow them in.

Duh it wasn’t random but that also doesn’t mean the wife is necessarily involved 🤨 it’s possible, but assuming her and her husband were close in age (he was 77, still haven’t heard her age tho) it seems unlikely. If it turns out she’s like half his age or something tho then ya that’s a bit more sus for sure, but no sense in vilifying a woman who may be an innocent victim just bc you watch a lot of true crime (lol so do i, not judging) and it’s pretty much always the spouse.
Blind trust and naïveté are obviously dangerous but that doesn’t mean you should just make baseless assumptions either. As the saying goes, _trust but _*_verify._* Or I guess in this case, _trust but wait for cops to investigate and present the evidence._

They should search other neighbors ring doorbell and try to track the truck through traffic cameras. All cities need more cameras. A drone could have followed this truck if it was part of a security system. A drone could have the truck tag and even the VIN # on the truck.

It IS sad to see not alot of people practice what many of us learn while serving in the military; That IS operational Security.
Operational security is, not opening your front door anytime when there are people on the outside you do NOT know. Even if they say they are from the Power company, Gas company or even the local Police. Don't acknowledge them until you call their office and ask if that company or Police Sept sent them. Your life, as it was in this case, may depend on your action. Don't open the door. Tell your relatives and grown kids just before they visit , call and let Mom and Dad know they are minutes away from pulling into the driveway.

Pretty sure DTE doesn’t drive a pickup truck and don’t come at 10pm. This may be a professional type hit, didn’t take anything? Was canvassing for Kamala last weekend and 75 percent didn’t answer door when their garages were open, but now you know why. Couldn’t believe how every house had those ring cameras. This was a very nice neighborhood with huge houses. Agree with everyone don’t answer your door.
