Slavic Bazaar, in Belarus is a competition which Dimash won in 2015 which set him well on the path to worldwide fame and success, which he now enjoys. Here he is a guest of the competition in 2018. In 2021 he was one of the judges and he sang a few songs as a guest artist and all of his performances were absolutely incredible! He’s so much better now (even though he was perfect in 2018)! On his first performance at the show in 2021 he received about 50 or 60 bunches of flowers and the audience were allowed to come up on the stage and give them to him! He had to get staff of the competition to help him hold them all! He always receives lots of flowers. People in that part of the world Russia/Belarus don’t give standing ovation, it’s considered disrespectful in their culture but he does get loads of flowers and that has now extended to all over the world, wherever he performs!

Dimash is currently 28...in May he will turn 29. He speaks 2 languages fluently (Russian and Kazakh) and he speaks English...but he isn't fluent yet...but he is getting better all the time. His Mandarin is slow learning and he finds it difficult,...but he speaks it in bits and pieces. He can sing in 12 different languages. He is a multi-instrumentalist. He has one younger brother who is an amazing pianist (but he also is a multi instrumentalist as well) He has a younger sister (who is attending Medical school...but she has performed before and has a beautiful voice. As we speak, Dimash and his siblings are going to sing and perform a song that Mansur (younger brother of Dimash) wrote and they are making a music video right now...hopefully that video gets released soon. Both his parents are singers. Dimash (per Kazakh custom) was raised by his grand parents (being the eldest child) He has 6+ octave range His hometown is Aktobe, Kazakhstan He is rather tall. 6'3" Many of his songs from 2018-2022 were written by famous Russian Composer Igor Krutoy. His last 13 minute music video "The Story of One Sky" was the most expensive video ever produced. It took three years to produce. He has completed his undergraduate and graduate School studies. He has been accepted into Doctorate programs,...but as far as I know he hasn't quite become Dr Dimash yet. His last concert was in his own country Almaty, Kazakhstan and it was an outdoor stadium... A few months after the "Singer 2017" Dimash sang this song here, as a guest of honor at the opening ceremony of the competition 'Slavic Bazaar 2018'.
(The International Arts Festival “Slavianski Bazaar“ is an annual festival held in Vitebsk, Belarus since 1992. Its main program is devoted to Slavic music (also a Competition).
This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer).
The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to RUclips ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

This is the Slavic bazaar in Belarus, he won the Slavic Bazaar in 2015. He was there as a guest performer. Dimash is born May 24, 1994 so he's currently 28. He hasn't done an Arabic song yet, but he did say he's working on it.

Dimash had his very first solo concert in Barclays Center, NYC in December 2019. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries & 43 states & 2 US territories & it was sold out.

Dimash is currently 28...in May he will turn 29.
He speaks 2 languages fluently (Russian and Kazakh) and he speaks English...but he isn't fluent yet...but he is getting better all the time. His Mandarin is slow learning and he finds it difficult,...but he speaks it in bits and pieces.
He can sing in 12 different languages.
He is a multi-instrumentalist.
He has one younger brother who is an amazing pianist (but he also is a multi instrumentalist as well)
He has a younger sister (who is attending Medical school...but she has performed before and has a beautiful voice.
As we speak, Dimash and his siblings are going to sing and perform a song that Mansur (younger brother of Dimash) wrote and they are making a music video right now...hopefully that video gets released soon.
Both his parents are singers.
