Welcome to the Dimash world. The rabbit hole we all being caught from the first minutes listening to Dimash. If you like opera you should go to listen to Ongi Pietra by Dimash.
You do understand the pain and struggle of a person uncomfortable in his own skin , of asking existential questions about being human. You are at the beginning of your Dimash journey. He sings in every genre, has been studying music and has had vocal training for over twenty years. My two favorites are Love is Like a Dream and Ikanaide and love his phenomenal Almaty Stranger Concert in September 2022. Part 1 will give you a great introduction to his versatility and the loving relationship he has with his fans he calls his " dears". Don't miss his masterpiece 13 minute music video called Story of One Sky. Dimash wrote the script and the entire score over a 3 year period. He sings it in a profoundly moving way using his voice as an instrument for peace. He also acts in the video. Dimash is completing a PhD which includes graduate studies in composition, classical and pop music. He has millions of fans around the world and is beginning to be known in the US. Dimash is also a very humble, grateful, respectful and gracious man who works very hard in his desire to be an artist. Dimash is a world class artist, turned 28 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, he also performs in concerts with the famous Ukrainian/Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He started his doctorate in Musicology.He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 15 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. Dimash’s singing voice evokes raw emotions and the majority of men are embarrassed at being emotion (culture) and confused when it comes to handling that much emotion. When Dimash sings, who needs subtitles? You can feel the song in his delivery. Don't be embarrassed, when this song is over, many people are left sitting in their own goosebumps and thoroughly stymied.

I "found" Dimash one evening about 7:30. I had to make myself go to bed at 2 in the morning cuz I couldn't stop listening to him. I was in disbelief. That was four years ago and it hasn't gone away. I listen to this everyday and it's never got old, I cry every time.

If you like opera then you’ll love olimpico, the one with the glow sticks hisbaritone/base is beautiful and he sings this song fantastically, alone and it has the best beat, it’s like a rock/ opera. You can get subtitles too. He has a 7/8 octave range, he sings in 15 languages, plays multiple instruments, sings from rap to opera and is the most beautiful person inside and out. A true god/alien. Dimash can sing anyones song but no one person can sing a Dimash song, ever

Just to complete Doug Friendly’s synopsis…SOS was written in 1976 by Michel Berger for his friend Daniel Balavoine in the context of the late seventies rock opera Starmania, a French/Canadian collaboration. His rendition, as was Lemarchal’s much later, was very beautiful indeed. Both died at a young age and in different ways had things in common with Dimash, whose version surpasses theirs simply due to his faultless vocals and ability to sustain them in all of his registers. You’re right that he is in a category unrivaled to date and will set new standards for the human capacity to express itself musically. I’m a big Freddie fan, and just want to say that Dimash stands on the shoulders of both Freddie and Michael J (his idols). Freddie had a wide range too (4 +) even though he never had any formal training and was basically a chain smoker almost until the very end of his legendary career. You are now in the Dimash rabbit hole and it will nourish you for a lifetime. Dimash as an artist has only just begun although with a lifetime of devoted and highly disciplined training in music already in his pocket. He was only 21 when he started working on the Singer project in China, but had already been a star performer in his own country, as were his parents. Genetics, talent and hard work are super win combination in the « grand loto de l’Univers ».

Dimash Qudaibergen (DIH-mosh Koo-dye-behr-GHEN) is from Kazakhstan. He began formal training at age 5 and is professionally trained in Opera and contemporary music as well as musical theater.
His discography covers a number of different genres: pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo classical, Opera and even a little rap and hip hop.
He has performed songs in 15 languages.
He speaks four languages: Russian and Kazakh and some English and some Chinese. He is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, producer, director and actor. He has his own production company called Dimashali Creative Center. He is 28 years old, 6'3" and it consummate performer.

The song itself is straightforward, it talks about being tethered to a fragile human life. While on the other hand having something stirring within, a connection to something bigger and encompassing. It speaks of metamorphosis and different perspectives, such as a bird's-eye view. So ultimately it's about dichotomy, human ego, and finding some balance hopefully, and if not then at least piece full rest tonight.

Dimash first became aware of this song when a young French talent show contestant in 2007, Gregory Lemarchal, age 23, sang it just before dying of cystic fibrosis while awaiting a lung transplant. Lemarchal had to act, dance and sing in the competition with just 25 percent of his lung capacity--and yet he won it! Dimash, kind and good-hearted guy that he is, was inspired by Gregory, and by the song. Then in 2018, Dimash's friend and fellow Kazakh citizen, champion Olympic figure skater Denis Ten, was murdered at the age of 25 attempting to keep a couple of guys from stealing items off of his car. As you can imagine, the song has had a deep emotional impact on Dimash, and he sings it with great passion every single time.
All of that being said, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Dimash has created his own genre of music by singing in virtually every genre known to man, worldwide. He mixes opera, pop, jazz, r&b and sometimes even rap in order to create amazing, complex, creative musical pieces and performances that will leave you stunned time and time again.

Hello from Costa Rica, I was deeply moved by your reaction. I am from chinese descent (my ancestors came to Costa Rica in the 1800 and I was classically educated) and an addict to Dimash, always expecting something new from him. I find that western reactors sometimes don't appreciate the grandeur of his performances. I think that you have really got it in the sense that for me it is important to get the totality, i. e. the voice, the care in the staging, the quality overall. Jahn docu on my country, which I think is the best about Costa Rica and the Australian docu is amazing as well. As your channel grows maybe you can take the time to travel and listen to live music on the country, like Thailand, something really beautiful, and the culture, away from touristy places like Bangkok (but don't forget the temples as they are true world wonders) or Chiang Mai and I think you may enjoy the culture, I think you are ready to grow through travel, I feel that I have lost something from youtube blocking your videos! , Pura vida.
I love that you have an appreciation of opera. Dimash was offered a position in the Opera House in Almaty. He turned it down in order to create his own form of mixed genre music in which he will combine opera, rock, jazz riffs, rap and dolphin and alien calls not only in one song but one phrase of a song. Loving piano, you will enjoy his collaborations with Igor Kutroy, the famous Russian composer who was coaxed out of retirement to write for and work with Dimash. Love Is Like a Dream is just one of those songs. Dimash holds master's degrees in both contemporary and classical music and hopes to complete his PHD this year. His masterwork is called The Story of One Sky, an anti-war anthem available both as a mini-film video and his extraordinary live performance in his recent concert from Almaty. He followed that exhausting performance with El Amor En Ti where he initially appears as a gigantic 20-foot image onstage and exercised his baritone, tenor and soprano operatic skills. Please let us accompany you down the rabbit hole of discovery of this incomparable singer and human being Dimash. By the way Kasachstan changed their accepted alphabet recently so you will see the alternative spelling of words with K and Q. Q is the most recent.

About the spelling of his last name: The Kazakh language is written in three alphabets: Arabic script in China, Cyrillic (Russian) script in Kazakhstan, and Latin script in other countries like Turkey. Back in 2018, the government in Kazakhstan (Qazaqstan) started the painstaking project of switching the script to Latin. The consonant sound at the start of Qudaibergen is something between an Arabic ق and an English K and is produced at the back of the throat. This consonant doesn’t exist either in Russian or in the Latin alphabet. So in Cyrillic, a special character was created, written as Қ (notice the little tail hanging on the leg of the K), and in Latin, the Q was used to represent this consonant. However, since most keyboards do not have that special Қ, they just type a regular K instead. Dimash started life as a Kudaibergen but changed the spelling to a Q in 2018. You will also see it written as Kudaibergenov, especially on Russian programs, because it’s a Russian ending for last names, meaning son of --

Thanks for your reaction. This song is the one of a man thinking about suicide, at the edge between life and death. This is a cover of one of the most difficult French song. I know very well the original and Dimash killed it, with all my respect to Daniel Balavoine, an amazing French singer (who tragically passed away when he was 35). In Dimash repertoire, there are some songs that can only be sung by him: Olimpico, Stranger, Ave Maria (these 3 songs were written for him by the famous Russian-Ukrainian composer Igor Krutoy), and his masterpiece The Story of One Sky...
Beyond his insane vocal range and skills, what is the most impressive to me is his ability to convey emotion (and we can see that you feel it;..), because he performs each song as it was THE performance, giving everything, from the bottom of his heart. This is why his fans are so viscerally attached to him: he gives everything to the audience. And on top of that, he is an extraordinary beautful soul, always humble and respectful, proud of his country, loving his family, and working hard to continue improving his talent. Dimash transcends boundaries, cultures and religion because what matters for him is to use his voice to make the world a better place to live.
