This might help if you want to compare tones after you watch the video: Black Tea 1:55 Summer Orange 4:02 Kaffir Lime 8:14 Sweet Cream 14:21 Tape Machine 19:50 Mandragora 23:19
@TastyChavelle of course Rob is great. With a cool personality to boot. I prefer Bea's cleans as well as the Capt. To me, Rob's cleans aren't ever really clean and he strums so hard it's percussive. Doesn't mean I don't like Rob, all these guitarists run circles around me.
kdc300z I definitely agree with this. I feel like Rob doesn't really demonstrate clean-tones as well as I'd like. Especially as someone who plays clean-tones the majority of the time.
@@hughtubecube The substitute is better because there's more variety in the playing styles. Rob is great but he's a shredder and cant really help it. Shredding is his drug of choice so to speak ;)
I have to say, I am a Nashville native and have been playing guitar for going on 16 years and you guys are by far my favorite RUclips guitar/music-based channel. Great job keeping the videos "light" and "straight to the point". Was wanting you all to do more of these mini TC and mini Tone city pedals through an Orange TH model. Im a little late to the party, but I am pretty sure that you all have not done that sort of video yet..?.. Thx again for the great material!!
Love Chappers, but can we have a little more Rabea, and a few more £39.00 pedals wouldn't go amiss either. ;-) Mandragora officinarum = Mandrake, anorak mode off.
I am a bedroom player and these things are great. Lots of different tones from minimal space. Very dynamic! I live in the US. I bought 4 of these pedals from Anderson's. They aren't yet widely available here in the US. The price even with shipping was cheaper than if I ordered through other places in North America.
That first pedal was hand down one of the best tones you guys have ever had... Maybe also the pickups in that PRS and the victory too, but damn.... God damn.... I love that you can see it on your face too Bea... Good work stepping in for Rob BTW.
I asked the Capt. on FB about echo pedals what he would suggest. He gave me this Tape Machine Pedal and I must say it and the rest of Tone City seem like a no-brainer purchase! I will be purchasing some very soon! THanx again Capt. for your help in deciding on a pedal! Your the best!
I know its Rob's channel but I have to say that I really like Rabea. I think he should do all the demos because he's a much better overall guitar player I think. Send my sincere apologies to Rob while I run for cover and hire a bodyguard :p
I know it's an older video, but I've been pedal shopping and rewatching some of these. They all sound great, but at 16:48, when Rebea hit that first note on the strat through the Sweet Cream, I was ready to sell body parts to get that guitar and pedal. Gorgeous tone.
15:35 I think it's supposed to look like a stick of butter in its wrapping. The Sweet Cream is an excellent, smooth and robust. It's good for stacking with other gain pedals as well.
Bea best get a CC on the 26:40 lick or put out the song. Lee was right to pick up on it, that was really great for some diversity in their music. I always like to watch Bea play, he's a thinker as he's pushing 150+ BPM and his mouth is moving left to right... thinking where he wants to take it next.
Yeah Rabea gets my vote as well. Rob is a metalhead and he just cant help shredding its just his nature and metal isnt everyone's cup of tea. Rabea though seems way more versatile and is just generally better.
Lufie Alice idk about u guys but its getting really hard to find squid. i like the pedals and everything, but forty squid per pedal... how am i even supposed to ship them? do they want live squid? why can't you guys just use coins or something
Some retailers take squid as payment, but it's not the packaging it up that's the problem, it's the smell of fish on your hands afterwards... Not dissimilar to the smell on my hands when leaving your mum's house ;-)
great video as always and that karate chop hooyah! at the end was fucking FUNNY! had me pissing myself, nice editing. Will definitely be picking up some of those pedals.
There is a cool noise you can make with the tape machine where you put the repeat on full and then mess around with the time knob and it will make like a really cool silly noise
i watch alot of youtubers, shows, series, but somehow within the last year your(anderton/chap/bea) videos made it to my goto video from all channels i subscribed. Yours the first video i watch when i see it come on. And i havnt bought any guitar gear in 3 years or so. So thats not it. Gj :)
I gotta say I usually watch on my phone with headphones today no one was home so I decided to watch on the TV and since I have a rather big tv ot felt like you guys were sitting across the room very neat Also thar tape machine was beautiful sounding I think I may have just found the delay pedal for me it's tiny and simple
I bought the Plexi and Fuzz. They are well built, work good and I really like the fact they didn't put the rubber on the bottom so you don't have to fight with that if you are using Velcro. The one thing I don't like about them is the power plug in is on the side which is a minor issue depending on the patch cables you are using. Over all they well worth the money.
Nice one, Rabea did awesome! Make him the default demo guy. And he plays in tune, unlike Rob, as shown in this video. Best Andertons demo so far I think.
If Rabea did more videos, half the guys would soon start knocking him to. Rob is very entertaining as is Rabea and the Captain. Take it for what it is, entertaining gear reviews that you are either interested in I.e watch and enjoy, or not, don't watch!
Every time I hear that Sweet Cream pedal I freaking love it... why don’t I have one yet??!! That Summer Orange Phaser and Tape Machine Analog Delay sound pretty sweet too!
Damn, these sound so good, I'd love to get ahold of a schematic... I bet they are so protected... Hey Lee, are you still the only place to get these in the UK?
This might help if you want to compare tones after you watch the video:
Black Tea 1:55
Summer Orange 4:02
Kaffir Lime 8:14
Sweet Cream 14:21
Tape Machine 19:50
Mandragora 23:19
.
Not all superheroes wear capes!
Thanks
You forgot the Chapman Ghost Fret ad @ 10:12 :D
Id like to see more Rabea in videos, love the way be plays guitar
Agreed. I prefer he and the capt's clean demos as well.
kdc300z Rob is fantastic.
TastyChevelle No one is saying he isn't
@TastyChavelle of course Rob is great. With a cool personality to boot. I prefer Bea's cleans as well as the Capt. To me, Rob's cleans aren't ever really clean and he strums so hard it's percussive. Doesn't mean I don't like Rob, all these guitarists run circles around me.
kdc300z I definitely agree with this. I feel like Rob doesn't really demonstrate clean-tones as well as I'd like. Especially as someone who plays clean-tones the majority of the time.
Have Rabea on more often.
The sweet cream pedal makes me want to grab a Strat and play Pride 'n Joy
I bought the Sweet Cream and couldn’t be happier. Adds a lot to your tone and adapts really well to a whole range of styles. I recommend it!
the substitute for Rob is acceptable.
james west theres so little banter
Yes, very acceptable
Daniel Lay Mmmmm..... Bea likes to let his playing do the talking, I like that but I also like the banter too.
*an improvement
@@hughtubecube The substitute is better because there's more variety in the playing styles. Rob is great but he's a shredder and cant really help it. Shredding is his drug of choice so to speak ;)
I think the main thing they sold here is Robea: get him to join your band no matter what pedal he's using.
+Helium Road Rabea is already the lead guitarist in their band Dorje.
Thomas Wallace
Yeah, I think you missed my point.
still waiting for the chappers vs captain smallest rig showdown
guitarfan149 i
I know this is 2 years too late for the comment, but me too.
Loved that bit of feedback on the sweet cream clean demo! Was badass
The strat sounded stellar. The Black Tea, Sweet Cream, Tape Machine are my fav from this demo.
Rob Chapman CaptAnderton ***** The feedback at 15:13 is glorious!
I have to say, I am a Nashville native and have been playing guitar for going on 16 years and you guys are by far my favorite RUclips guitar/music-based channel. I love Rob and the Captain. But I love it when Rabea is on these, his playing is phenomenal.
Love Chappers, but can we have a little more Rabea, and a few more £39.00 pedals wouldn't go amiss either. ;-)
Mandragora officinarum = Mandrake, anorak mode off.
GreenmanXIV It's also a mythical demon or familiar spirit.
GreenmanXIV I knew this from Harry Potter, nice to know it's not incorrect.
"the sweat cream is the least overdriven pedal in this set"
-blasts total classic rock riffs on the bridge humbucker.
I think i'm going to buy one of those sweet cream pedals together with Danish Pete's Durple.
You two make a great product review team. You both know your shit and Bea's such a versatile artist.
That tape machine sounds really good.
I watched these Tone City demos, now I have to buy 8 new pedals...
At least they are affordable...
I am a bedroom player and these things are great. Lots of different tones from minimal space. Very dynamic! I live in the US. I bought 4 of these pedals from Anderson's. They aren't yet widely available here in the US. The price even with shipping was cheaper than if I ordered through other places in North America.
gotta love these tiny mouth movements of bea when he is ripping down these riffs. making me smile all day long. he is just feeling it right there.
That first pedal was hand down one of the best tones you guys have ever had... Maybe also the pickups in that PRS and the victory too, but damn.... God damn....
I love that you can see it on your face too Bea...
Good work stepping in for Rob BTW.
that sweet cream sounds fantastic

Absolutely love the versatility of the sweet cream, and it sounds great!!
I thought the Kaffir Lime sounded great on a clean channel. Just a really pushed vintage sound with a bit of clean spank.
I agree. Sounded very natural, the sort of thing one could bass his tone on.
I know its Rob's channel but I have to say that I really like Rabea. I think he should do all the demos because he's a much better overall guitar player I think. Send my sincere apologies to Rob while I run for cover and hire a bodyguard :p
Definitely a fan of the new camera work.
Also, gotta love the fro action. Bea killing it.
26:40 holy cow .
What is that riff?
MANDRAGORA :D
.
Crumbs
"Sweet Creams are made of this. Who am I to disagree?"
lol I loved all these pedals!
I know it's an older video, but I've been pedal shopping and rewatching some of these. They all sound great, but at 16:48, when Rebea hit that first note on the strat through the Sweet Cream, I was ready to sell body parts to get that guitar and pedal. Gorgeous tone.
Bea just kills it, such a musical player!
I swear I only watch these for the banter they provide
15:35 I think it's supposed to look like a stick of butter in its wrapping.
The Sweet Cream is an excellent, smooth and robust. It's good for stacking with other gain pedals as well.
Rabea is definitely the best person to replace Rob or The Captain if one is away.
Really good quallity in this video and amazing sounding pedals for the size
I watch this like twice a week just to cause of Bea's playing. He's such a great player.
YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep doing these at 50 fps, it looks soooo much better.
6:39 no worries Bea, nobody noticed haha
+hoshino he ''smacks'' the headstock into the table and then plays it cool
+Jesse D HAHAHAHAHA Didn´t even notice xD
Jesse D I
Rabea is the effin master of funk!
Get Rebea into more videos, would be great to hear him and Rob riff off each other more. He's such an awesome player, loads of grooves.
Sorry Rob ...I prefere Raeba doing the Demos
Yeah Rabea gets my vote as well. Rob is a metalhead and he just cant help shredding its just his nature and metal isnt everyone's cup of tea. Rabea though seems way more versatile and is just generally better.
Cade Cobblefoot
Kevin McVann Agreed, Rob is a technical machine but I prefer Raeba's playing
Woohoo Robea! Couldnt have picked anyone better! :P
The Squier Strat sounded fantastic with these pedals. Much nicer than the humbucker guitars.
Lovin' the fact that Chappers is rocking a 101 proof shirt. RIP Dime.
I would happily make an entire pedalboard compiling all these pedals. These are great sounding bits of kit.
I love the look of Capt's face everytime Bea or Chap plays a chunky low power cord haha, especially after the GhostFret prototype came in!
Could there just be a package with EVERY SINGLE ONE. XD
Bea's playing on the Tape Delay is to die for.
I bought the Golden Plexi and the Bad Horse on the strength of the last Tone City demo you did. These really are good little pedals for 40 squid!
Lufie Alice idk about u guys but its getting really hard to find squid. i like the pedals and everything, but forty squid per pedal... how am i even supposed to ship them? do they want live squid? why can't you guys just use coins or something
Zac Miller Get to know a fisherman. They catch squid all the time, but they usually toss them back out. Now they'll find a use for them!
Some retailers take squid as payment, but it's not the packaging it up that's the problem, it's the smell of fish on your hands afterwards... Not dissimilar to the smell on my hands when leaving your mum's house ;-)
Lufie Alice I'm guessing they are American :-) Dont mention Spondoolies, it'll blow their minds
Lufie Alice Does his mum sell squid?
great video as always and that karate chop hooyah! at the end was fucking FUNNY! had me pissing myself, nice editing. Will definitely be picking up some of those pedals.
That Sweet Cream pedal could become a go-to for that SRV / Jimi tone, gain on 4!
Thank you for these reviews. I'm now saving up to buy at least three Tone City pedals.
There is a cool noise you can make with the tape machine where you put the repeat on full and then mess around with the time knob and it will make like a really cool silly noise
That outro was too good xD
i love the dynamics between Rob, Bea & the captain, if only there was more room in the studio for 3 people at once! =D
Rabea is a Wizard! love hearing him play :)
***** Do you know whats the first song that he plays?
Francisco Valadez Bryan Adams - Run To You
15:12 Whatever Bea did there was magical.
What a lovely guitar player Rabea is. More Rabea from time to time please!
I personally think that rabea has a broader spectrum when it comes to just riffing around, were as Rob plays mainly around metal
really liking all these pedals, especially the tone Rabea is getting while using that PRS.
AkiraSpectrum I was looking if anyone commented this. I'm a PRS fan so I just assumed I was biased but, it had a great sound that was Gibson like IMO.
I thought was one second when Rob looked at The Captain that he was about to club him with that guitar lol :D
13:29 Sweet Cream... One of my favorites.
really nice pedals for £39! excellent playing too. nailed john mayer lol
Rabea has such a more versatile playing of the guitar :) He is great should invite him more often on the show !!
Guitar>Sweet Cream>Mandragora>Tape Machine>amp
Good to go.
3:58
Captain: "It'll do a bitta flange if that's yo thang"
Bea: "*Chuckles* you mean PUSSEH boi"
Bea's such a classic player!
I'm gigging with the Sweet Cream and the Wild Fire.... really flexible combination. Great pedals...
love the clean with crunch,i lrarn acdc songs im so gettin the clean pedal with the crunch sounds amazing
i learn acdc song sorry typo love the clean with crunch made a typo
That PRS sounded nicer than the ghost fret
***** The finished mass-produced guitar with decades of refinement sounded better than the prototype? You don't say.
DerekHartley S2 Series PRS's have only been in production since 2013. Same manufacturers, but different hardware.
I was just about to say the same! Prs sounded fuller and clearer.
Jordan Roberts PRS has still been around for a long time. They have much more experience making guitars than Rob and his team does.
i watch alot of youtubers, shows, series, but somehow within the last year your(anderton/chap/bea) videos made it to my goto video from all channels i subscribed. Yours the first video i watch when i see it come on. And i havnt bought any guitar gear in 3 years or so. So thats not it. Gj :)
22:06 Bea flexing his Nuno Bettencourt fanboyisms.

that Sweet cream sound really good!!!
Well it looks like I’ll be getting that sweet cream soon. Awesome blues tone

The one thing I don't like about them is the power plug in is on the side which is a minor issue depending on the patch cables you are using. Over all they well worth the money.
What with these and the recent Duesenberg Guitars video, you are going to cost me a bloody fortune (and a marriage!).
Fuxxing awesome!
P.S. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaffir_lime
What the hell? that Sweet Cream pedal is ridiculous.
Zac Miller probably going to be my first pedal. Loved it.
BuddyJesusSmokes for a first i reccomend a boss ds1 and then maybe get a tone city or boss super overdrive and stack the pedals
I ordered a Summer Orange and Tape Machine (from Andertons) today, can't wait to plug them in!
26:36 what the hell is that technique that he did there called?! that was cool
If lee ever sold that squire strat id sooo buy her what a lovely sounding guitar !!!!
That Summer Orange Phaser is a great sounding pedal!
Nice one, Rabea did awesome! Make him the default demo guy. And he plays in tune, unlike Rob, as shown in this video. Best Andertons demo so far I think.
Love to watch Rabea play
i really love the look of that ghostfret!! ;)

That Summer Orange Phaser and Tape Machine Analog Delay sound pretty sweet too!
All the pedals sound amazing..
Yay. More Bea!
12:35 Lee's reaction to Rob's Comment 😂😂😂
The sweet cream is absolutely fantastic
I know I am a few years late to the party but I love that PRS S2 Custom 22, Antique White! I am hunting that down. Diggin the Antique White
probably my dream rig mostly
Mandragora is based on the Love Kalamazoo pedal, and the Dry Martini is the OCD clone.
Bea's mouth at 21.50 - the way of the world!
loving rabeas playing , its not a shredfest !!!
love the videos could we get some behind the scenes stuff like that rabea does in the background
God Rabea is so good.
Damn, these sound so good, I'd love to get ahold of a schematic... I bet they are so protected... Hey Lee, are you still the only place to get these in the UK?
I totally dig Rob, Rabea & Captain A. All 3 rock.
