This is great knowledge in case of an emergency. For all the negative comments about balancing and professionalism... Would you rather stay stranded in the woods and get eaten by bears. Or man up, get it done, and get her home.. Worry about the tire shop in the morning
@@clintholmes81You do realise that tyres lose air over time just sitting there & not being used don't You? Nicely done. I thoroughly recommend 2 of the same tyres on the front of a front-wheel-drive car such as that Toyota plus a wheel balance and front end alignment to extend the life of your new tyres.
With just a rope (and 12 other power and pry tools, and enough human force to injure healthy adults). This is the dumbest click-bait tomfoolery I have seen in a while. 👎
I guess if i were stranded in place were i had to change my tire and all i had with me were sandels, a un mounted tire a jack,a rope, some dish soap, a brush, a pry bar,and a jack stands. Then this is veey useful. Way easier than plugging the tire, taking it to the tire shop and asking if they could mount the tire i have for a nominal fee.
What about it ?? If you stay under 50mph there's no issue. This is a solution for someone in desperation miles away from a tyre shop e.g. in the middle of nowhere such as in Africa. Besides anyone with more than two brain cells knows you can do a static balance just using the car axle as a pivot point.
It works by creating enough tension to lift the tire off the rim. As for safety, it’s important to proceed carefully and use it as a temporary solution.
@stephenwatts985 Sure it was a joke but it was a lame joke commenting on the perfectly obvious.🙄 Time to put your big boy pants on and listen to your betters instead of making a foolish joke.🤗😉🤗
@dlighted8861 and that's your opinion and that's how you feel. No biggie. Someone else might like the joke lame or not. No need to be a Debbie downer . Life is to short.
Changing tires is actually a specialist process. Remember the lives of you, your family and other road users depend on that tire being installed correctly. So many things could go wrong here. People with zero knowledge trying to to teach people with zero knowledge is dangerous. I would suggest not to try this at home.
Does this mean you need a tech license to change a bike tire? It's the same principal on a different scales. If you don't know how to torque nuts then that's the safety. But someone should know how to change a spare tire of the want to drive
The outcome was actually proper. No harm was done to the tire. I have seen beads broken and even cut by using Coates 40/40 machines improperly by 'professionals'. Less chance of harming a tire this way.
Changing tires is about as much of a 'specialist process' as changing oil. Anyone can do it. This is actually really innovative, take your hand wringing elsewhere
So because the tyre has not been balanced in a few week it will be knackered causing you more expense, so folks go to a garage and have your tyres properly fitted
Most are now sensors, replacing it would cost another hundred or more. Newer ones have gone to a two piece sensor, but the rubber part cost from $5 to $20 each. But there's a bunch of the one piece still out there. He still has to balance it. Put the spare on let the repair shop do it all for the same price as balance. Except for part's.
And one week later the tyre was fitted and completely out of balance! I now have a slipped disc and huge medical expenses, won’t be driving my car for many months! Next time I need a tyre change I will take it to the shop down the road, that will change it in minutes and cost very little!😅
You can use a small screw driver to take the valve out of the stem. I set a ladies truck tire back on the rim at a gas station with an eye glasses repair screw driver... Just don't lose the valve when airs rushing out
Some useful tricks. But one very big mistake. The inside diameter of a car wheel rim is slightly smaller on the Inside. The Bodger removed and fitted the tyre from the Wrong Side of the wheel. No wonder he was struggling.
My honest opinion A dangerous method, It requires effort and caution, not all people can do it that, If one of the tools jumps to your face will be seriously injured, I do not recommend. It is better to say that what you do is a personal effort and under your own responsibility. So (give the bread to the baker even if he eats half of it) 👌
