Heck, I've Even Fought People Who ARE One Eye.
I saw a comment somewhere, probably on BrawlBstm's channel, that Galeem's theme uses the first half of Smash Ultimate's main theme Lifelight while Dharkon's uses the second half of the main theme. Either way, both use it as a part of a score, if I'm correct. Galeem's seems to be in major key and this one in minor key to portray how dark, dreary and hopelessness. The chanting choir of Dharkon's indicate the tone and set it well while Galeem's appears to be uplifting but still not that "good or cheerful". Music assessment (of sorts) over, I do appreciate how much the composers put into both themes. I like Dharkon's and the "dark world" in World of Light a little more on a personal level.
It is basically complete order versus complete chaos.
And the main chorus of lifelight ONLY shows up in the song that plays when you fight both of them at once.
Also Galeems uses female choir while Dharkon uses male choir.

Major and minor keys are more obscure than you might think but Dharkon's track is definitely slower and more doomsday like than Galeem's track.

The portrayal of these two is a masterclass in presentation. None of them have any lines, yet you understand their characteristics just by observing them. Galeem’s purpose and virtues are clear and unmistakable, he wishes to make the world new, and bring light and order to all the land.
Dharkon, is a literal anamoly. No clearly definable characteristics, no clear motives, and his actions are seemingly random and impulsive, like a petulant child throwing a tantrum, destroying his surroundings for no real reason.
His only consistent characteristic can be his opposition to Galeem. Just like Satan, whose name means Opposer, who we really know nothing about, other than his deceit and opposition to God.

@@Countcomfortable I don't think its possible to apply any monotheistic ideology to the World of Light, because of the fact that in all monotheistic religions, God is the Creator and He reigns supreme. Those central tenants are violated by the fact that Master Hand, the Creator, is overcome by Galeem.
Is Dharkon similar to Mephiles the Dark since both crave destruction and both are similar to the Devil.

This is definitely one of my boss themes in this game. It fits Dharkon so well for obvious reasons. The dark nature and chaos work so well

Dharkon Is Like a Criminal who has been let loose from Prison only to find his entire past life gone, and everyone he loves hateful towards him, Corrupting his sould into only wanting it to end, seeking to Destroy all that is so that no one will ever get to enjoy what he once had and only know defeat, And Seek everyone to be heartless and Angry, Like Crazy Hand, Who seeks to Destroy, making him a perfect counter to Galeem, However, The horror that may be if he were to overpower Galeem, or vice versa...
This is way better than Galeem's theme, and does everyone notice they act like predators, toying with their victims before killing them?
And they act like jealous siblings, fighting for attention and the TV remote.
How does galeem toy with his victims? He one-shotted everyone, and his ultra-righteous nature compels him to wipe away evil, without delay or prolonged suffering. This is seen in how he simply smites Dharkon and ends the opposition to his reign while Dharkon chains and torments him. He acts like a crusader.

My favorite character in all of SMBU. This has a godly type of rock and roll feeling, like NKG. Galeem's theme is orchestral radiance, the exact opposite of this amazing theme.
1:55 and 2:15 are my favorite parts because the first one replenishes Dharkon's aura of godliness, and the second one is just plain POWER. The song itself carry both of those feelings, which is exactly why I like songs like these.

And Sonic with the multiple gods of destruction he’s faced, and Joker with Yaldabouth, Demiurge, Maruki and Salmael, and Bayonetta fighting both angels and demons, and Kirby who’s killed gods like eating at a revolving sushi bar….
While Galeem is fighting the smash fighters , Dharkon is just standing there ……. MENACINGLY.

1:25-1:29 WHY IS THIS THE BEST BIT OF THE WHOLE SONG?
Thousands of years ago, before the universes made contact with each other, Dharkon was anything but the god he once was- a brave warrior who fought for the land he dedicated his life to called Darien. But all the fighting had made Darien sullen and hard hearted, and thus made him return back home, despite all the achievements he made. Upon returning home, Darien had commissioned an artist named Genevieve- the human form of Galeem, to paint a picture of him. But once said picture was created, it was love at first sight for the two of them. It was all smooth sailing until their families found out about the forbidden romance and sunk their ship. War broke out and both lovers grew sullen and cold. Now, millennia later, Dharkon and Galeem fight an endless battle for the balance of the multiverse- with the love they once shared nearly gone.

I love how there’s two main types of final boss themes, we have empowering angelic heavy songs trying to tell the player they can win against a nearly in killable entity, and we have the fucking terrifying dark epic songs telling the player that they’re fucked. These two orb fellas really solidify the two types of final boss themes with their themes

So... basically
Smash Bros. beated the shit out of Dharkon when he didn't do anything. Like literally. He just created a small black hole to his world
He was in the process of destroying everything. Being able to go back to the Light World seems to just be for the sake of gameplay - the implication is that the Dark World _is_ the Light World as Dharkon tears it apart. And his bad ending hints that the only thing that stopped him from wiping everything out on the spot was the fact that Galeem wasn't completely dead yet.

@@jesusserrano1635 Master Core wasn’t really fleshed out very much either. We never got any detail about what The Swarm actually was or what its relationship to Master Hand is. Would have been nice if Smash 4 had a proper story mode like World of Light or Subspace Emissary.

@@lesbrey I’m surprised Master Core wasn’t elaborated on more. Random entity exploding out of Master Hand for some reason that can transform into a variety of creatures, weapons, and an entire fortress. No detail as to who or what it really is beyond that.
If you think about it, Dharkon is like that stereotypical final boss you fight
Dharkon has to be one of the most badass villains in the Smash Bros games, imo. His tentacles and eye is intimidating, his music is a banger, and his dark bad ending is so brutal and violent. Unlike how Galeem wants to vaporize everything in the universe, Dharkon just wants everyone dead in the most terrifying way possible, along with wanting to cover the whole world in darkness. I honestly prefer the Dark Realm more than the Light Realm. *Heh-heh-heh*
