Decided to append the new phase music into the existing medley.
Honestly, this addition has made this my favorite Kirby final boss theme by a long shot. It feels like the finale of the series. Gives me some Soul of Cinder vibes. So much love has gone into this track and you can feel it.

I just realized something I think is really important. When Kirby wants to be able to do something he can’t currently do, he assimilates other beings into himself, gaining a stronger version of their own abilities. When a Dark Matter wants to do the same, they assimilate themselves into another being, (aka possession) allowing them to access abilities that are impossible for them to use on their own. Their abilities are direct mirrors of each other.
So true! Does that mean that Zero is basically evil Kirby?
@@CutMeSomeSlackTheVII That's pretty much what the entire Void Termina boss battle seems to imply
So kirby eating people is good, but temporarily possessing them is bad?
Eh, who am I kidding. They respawn when offscreen for a reason, just as how Kirby has to kill a boss's soul to truly kill them.
Exactly,
Void represents hatred and stagnancy. Having exhausted his potential, he has *zero* room to grow. Void grants his inner strength to vessels who call for him. Kirby on the other hand represents love and growth, the power to rely on his friends. Every interaction, every bond created, just as food provides nutrients, the friends we make give us the ingredients needed to improve ourselves. His potential is infinite as long as he makes new friends.
However, Love and Hate aren't so far apart. Love can just as easily convert into hatred, just as hatred can turn into love. Someone or something *deeply* hurt Void in the old universe.

I love how they just turn green greens into some super emotional track (WITH the 8-bit rendition). Just goes to show the power of musical directioning.
And not only that, but Green Greens is considered Kirby's theme. By using it and twisting it into that, they're explicitly saying that Void and Void Termina are related to Kirby. Somehow.
Void is eventually reincarnated as Kirby. It's believed that all 3 puffballs were made using a positive version of the Void Termina ritual, making them all incarnations of Void. That's the link.

Fire Emblem? *Definetly never heard of it.*
Kirby has immediately topped Kingdom Hearts lore-wise with the past few games.
@@Poyostar Kingdom Hearts lore is pretty simple in concept but it is burried under layers and layers of overcomplicated plot devices that are just here to make you forget that KH's plot is just light VS darkness without much nuance.
Kirby doesn't really have a "plot" in the sense that the story is not in the foreground and most players don't even know what is going on in the background of the series. This is why Kirby lore is so effective, it is uneeded but still here and above all else, it manage to stay coherent with what was previously established.
Kingdom Heart need to keep track of all of its characters and invent new plot points that negate previously established lore elements because they contradict what was introduced in a new game. Even the mobile game is important to Kingdom Hearts' plot.
Meanwhile Kirby can have throwaway villains like Nightmare and Necrodeus who are still cosmic horrors in their own rights and could be the endboss of any other series based on their background alone and link them to the greater picture later while developing other background elements. In the last 7 years we were introduced to the Ancients, had several games meant to expand the lore on the Dimensional Mirror, gained more knowledge on what the ancients are while introducing the concept of the Jambastion Cult and their potential ties with Galacta Knight all in the game that serves as the closure to the Dark Matter Saga.
You realise that Nomura said that Kingdom Heart 3 was supposed to only be the end of the plot thread started with Kingdom Hearts 1 and that their was going to be games with a new one after that. They spent almost 20 years beating around the bush and adding more plot points to a single conflict. That shows you how badly organized the writting team of KH is and this series' main appeal is supposed to be the plot.
-Also we don't talk about Fates-
Not to mention it deserves more representation in Smash than Fire Emblems.

People really think we've solved the Kirby lore, but there's still so many questions. For instance, we _still_ dont know who the Ancients supposedly were. Why did they make the Master Crown, Amazing Mirror, or Lor Starcutter? Were they trying to contain the Dark Matter, or were they trying to propagate it? Where do the Clockwork Stars get involved? Are the Halcandrans seperate from the Ancients, or is it just their original name? What role does the Jamba Cult play, were they the ones who antagonized the Ancients, or was it the other way around? If the Ancients built Jambandra from scratch, what else are they capable of? Who were the four ancient heroes who sealed away Void Termina? Was Galacta Knight one of them? Why was Void Termina so corrupted in the first place? If Kirby's form was shaped by Popstar, then what or _who_ exactly shaped Termina into that abombination? What's with the butterfly and Morpho Knight?
We still don't have answers to any of these questions... There's so much we just don't know!
It's highly plausible that Galacta Knight was one of the 4 warriors as in Super Kirby Clash in his boss fight this time with the name Aeon Hero during his lazer attack a Jamba heart is briefly shown and he also gains a new attack in which he summons a bunch of heart spears even if he did not seal him away it's still likely that Galacta Knight was related to the four warriors

That laser attack gives me so much anxiety
Especially as it is can't be guarded. Scary as hell considering I started in red health. And I won.
The attack got me to red, too. Void was the one who killed me.

This music right here, especially the new section added for wave three, did to this game what the Zero Two theme did for Kirby 64.
Absolutely incredible.
Who else comes back to this song periodically? I love this piece so much cuz it brings in KIRBY of both old and new. It’s beautiful.
Perhaps we were all a bit too harsh on Kirby Star Allies in the past? The game may not be the best gameplay wise, but it’s the best story lore-wise
I still believe this is the best final boss theme in the series. Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit is incredible, but it does get tiring on repeated listens. Same for Vagrant Counting Song of Retrospection and even Moonstruck Blossom. Star-Conquering Traveler _never_ seems to get old, no matter how many times I hear it, and is one of the few final boss themes that I feel doesn't lose anything by listening to it out of context (i.e. not in-game).

Okay, story time. I remember back when The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was released, I was thinking, "I hope they bring Ganon/Ganondorf back, he's long overdue for a return...buuut, given that this game shows us the origin of the Master Sword, and therefore must take place before Ocarina of Time, that's not really realistic. Oh, well." And sure enough, the villain turned out to be what I thought was some generic demon king-type called Demise...then after I beat him, I figured out just what Demise WAS...according to the game, Ganon's creator, and according to Hyrule Historia, Ganon himself before there was even Ganondorf.
Fast forward a few years, I'm seeing the prerelease material for Kirby Star Allies. It's shaping up to be the perfect Kirby game. "Now if only they'd bring back Dark Matter..." I think. Then I think, "Heh, keep dreaming. It'll get a cameo at best, just like the last few games." Then when the game releases, I find that the final boss is some generic eldritch abomination called Void Termina. "I knew they wouldn't bring Dark Matter back..." I thought. "Oh, well. Still a good game". Then, as the battle against Void Termina reaches its conclusion, I think, "That looked an awful lot like Dark Matter..." Then I do some research, and figure out just what Void Termina really WAS...see where I'm going with this?
With what HAL gave us, Void is the originator of the matters of Dream, Dark, Heart, and Soul. So it's most likely that Void is less Dark Matter, and more what spawns it if enough negative energy is gathered. This is shown with the major elephants in the room. The form it takes that's basically Dark Matter from Dream Land 2 and 3, the boss card for Void being the Zero Boss Butch background, Dark Mind's mirror attacks, and the Miracle Matter needle attack. But there are a few more subtle hints. When Void enters his Dark Matter form, it's basically a white sphere with a blood red eye. In other words, it bears a striking resemblance to Zero. Then there's also one of the faces it makes. It also makes Zero 2's fake smile from the start of the fight. In the Japanese version, Void is known as "Nil", which means zero/nothingness in English.
However, if more positive energy is gathered, it could be possible it reincarnates into something like Kirby. The pause lore states that it could reincarnate into a quote, "ally of the stars." What was the Japanese name of Kirby's Dream Land? "Hoshi no Kaabii", which translates to "Kirby of the Stars." His subtitle, "Astral Birth" could also be associated with this. There's also the lore that says that in place of tyrannical rule, it begins to dream of treats, naptimes, spring breezes, and friends reuniting. All of those are basically what Kirby is known for liking most. If you just play the Astral Birth part of the medley, the chiptune comes in at 4:27. 4/27 is the original release date for Kirby's Dream Land. And speaking of the music, there's Green Greens, widely considered to be Kirby's theme song, being one of the two major melodies in the song. Normally in Kirby final boss music nowadays, you get a little snippet of the song during the more triumphant bits. Not this time. This is the whole song, but somber and melancholy. It even plays a near perfect copy of the original 8-bit Green Greens theme, albeit with a few notes altered.
Dark Matter returned in Robobot as a boss
UserMCSkull FormerlyknownasPowerofL only as a clone created by Star Dream to test Meta Knight. Officially Dark Matter hasn’t been in a game since Squeak Squad. Since then it’s only been heavy speculation and almost definite links, but Void Termina was the first true Dark Matter boss since then

Void was just disturbing. I actually thought they'd never top 02, but they actually did it. He even dies...smiling. I think I killed him near the end of the song, but still, what a creepy true final boss. In fact, pause the game when you fight Void. His description adds fuel to the fire. It's like reading a poem for the mentally insane.

You know it’s one thing when a game’s final boss theme is just a remix of the game’s main theme, but this one being a remix of the very first level of the very first game just hits different
I think void soul gets reborn into the first Kirby, the black and white one that can’t absorb powers. This would make sense given the lore and the original green greens being incorporated into this
Does this mean that every game has been a prequel?
i like this idea, it means that kirby's existence is a perpetual loop
Here's a different idea riding off of this.
The old looking kirby experiences kirby's dreamland and later adventure.
While our kirby only experienced spring breeze and nightmare in dreamland.
@@gmazurek746
Its Void himself.
Forgotten in the SNES.
Stalking the 3D version of itself(Kirby) across dimensions in the hopes of becoming its friend but instead became a nightmare and a weapon that is feared.
Maybe it's a reborn Zero?
Maybe the little Puffball guys are actually related to Dark Matter...
6:19 I love that emotional piano, it's just perfect when void morphs into a blazing sun and goes slow sincronised with the music
This game brought so many twists, from the butterfly and Galacta Knight becoming Morpho Knight, the Doom Cult being Dark Matter worshippers (Although that's nowhere near as big, but still...), to the biggest reveal in Kirby's lore: He may very well be Dark Matter, in hindsight his design is very similar to Dark Matter's entourage, being spherical and the ability to manipulate their bodies. But Kirby (and Meta Knight by extension) is a defector, finding a way to experience emotion and be a hero, the light in the darkness. I think we can all make a good guess as to how this series will end: Kirby, using his greatest powers and alongside his allies, taking down Dark Matter once and for all, potentially leading to a climatic battle between Kirby and the source/creator of Dark Matter itself.
Edit: I just realized something: Kirby's "lives" system is possible only because he's consuming enough matter (Stars/Hearts/etc., specifically) to allow him to replicate or take a piece off himself to act as its own individual being, almost just like Zero and Dark Matter!
Not to burst your bubble, but I think Kirby just did destroy the source of Dark Matter, HIMSELF! Oh, and the source is now Kirb so....
HOLY FRICK
Well you’re incredibly close. Void isn’t Dark Matter or Kirby but rather their Ancestor or predecessor. The origin of all Matter good or bad.
@@jrcsmash2150 Regardless of the all-matter thing, there is at least a connection between Zero, Void, and Kirby besides Void being the source of everything.
I mean, gooey's a dark matter too.
God damn. That transition into Green Greens is beautiful
I won't lie, this is easily one of the best Final Bosses themes I've ever heard
A lot of people pointed out the obvious similarities between Void Termina's Essence and both Kirby and Zero, and this form makes it the most obvious, but here's something else I noticed. The Arena where you fight Hyness/ Morpho knight changes depending on what mode you're in, but in "Heroes from Another Dimension", the portal thing at the ground shows a blue background with black circles: That's where you gought Zero in Dreamland 3. In Guest Star mode, it shows a red background with black tiles: That's where you fought Zero 2 in Kirby 64.
The Splash Screen for Astral Birth Void has a yellow background with red and blue circles. That's the arena for Zero in Dreamland 3 during Boss Rush Mode. They went all out for this one.
it not the mode, during each wave the floor change showing a diferent background, wave 1 hyper zone (final battle dreamland 3), wave 2 dark star (zero 2) and in wave 3 it looks like the space from star allience
@@thunderybuggy7399 Yeah, I was a bit unsure about it. I didnt think they would retroactively change the arena for the old Dream Friends once the newer ones came out, since the arena only changes if you do the mode with DLC Dream Friends anyway. I haven't done Guest star with Wave 3 yet because I was focussing on Heroes from Another Dimension and Soul Melter EX first.
@@GL_099 - Wave 1, the 1990s generation, has the Hyper Zone to represent Zero
- Wave 2, the 2000s generation, has Dark Star to represent Zero-Two
- And finally, Wave 3, the 2010s (and current) generation, has the Void Termina background to represent the current form of Dark Matter.
@@The94Venom Thank you. Doing Guest Star in different versions and the background constantly changing during HiaD has confused me a little. I realized how exacly it changed between each dimension after going through it again.
Now that is an easter egg. I bet most people didn't realize that.
Did i just cry from a Kirby boss theme? I didnt just cry from a Kirby boss theme... i just cried from a KIRBY BOSS THEME!
nothing unusual here
That part toward the end where Green Greens theme played seriously gave me flashbacks to when Lord Gwyn's theme played during the second half of the Soul of Cinder fight.
It's official, Kirby lore has reached the same level as Dark Souls lore, what the heck.
Lowkey hope they do a 30th anniversary orchestra for Kirby so that we can get a orchestral rendition of 'The Star Conquering Traveler'
I never realized I needed something so badly until now
There's a 30th anniversary concert, but it's big-band, so... kind of?
They did it. And it was truly amazing.

“For the darkness will extinguish everything you want and desire.”
*This is our world!*
*This is our home!*
An individual of culture, I see?
Man, even now, I still can’t get over just how deep Kirby lore has gotten with this game. We went from fighting a greedy penguin with a hammer to what could be quite possibly be an iteration of Kirby born from negativity instead of positive emotions... Who woulda thought a game about a cute pink marshmallow would get so friggin’ deep!?
this theme is so heartbreaking wtf
All I know is destruction. I must end all worlds. My unflinching goal for unknown aeons.
Why am I conflicted now? This is all I am, all I know. Why does it feel wrong?
Pure Being, I envy what you have. Friends, kindness, hope, choice. Love.
But when I try to feel that...

Nothing hit me harder than hearing a perfect recreation of green greens during astral birth void fight.
It was like "wait hold up, what? I recognize this! (And then a die because I wasn't paying attention to the battle probably)
Just listening to this gives me chills.
That fight is like eating a glass with spikes inside of it.
While the series lore is at an all time high the appearance of Void allows it to be dumbed down like this:
Kirby and Dark Matter: * Fights like little kids *
Void: *DADDY'S HOME*
I seen a Dark Matter family with Void as the baby.
Island KO Void is the dad who’s sick of everyone trashing the shit he’s created
@xx_squirtle8621 yes very accurate
Y'all remember when Kirby was fighting King Dedede because he stole some food?
Yeah, now he's fighting a freaking god of destruction.
Welcome to modern Kirby games.
The best part is the implication that Void is a proto-Kirby (or maybe even *is* Kirby, in some kind of weird time loop) and therefore *Kirby himself* is a god of destruction. I just love how this series flirts with lore implications but then plays coy about actually revealing anything. The intrigue alone is probably half the reason I keep buying these games.
Bruce Pascoe Japanese text says Void is just straight up god.
@Fluppie vehicular HOMICIDE, kirby had full intention to make some celestial roadkill
It's been in that direction since the second Kirby game, so it's not something that started recently.

The last picture you get in this game is of Kirby waving goodbye to you. While the Ultimate Choice isn't canon to the story, I like to imagine that after Kirby learns of what happened, he just quietly leaves Popstar for a while. He doesn't say goodbye, but he says "see you later", with a tear in his eye. Glad to have had those moments with his friends, but knowing he has to leave for now. But he'll come back, stronger than before, and having done something completely new.
This game is the BIGGEST LORE REVEAL in the entire series. It is the only bit of lore that talks about Kirby himself.
