You know its an insanely hard challenge when the two racers are giving each other honest advice on how they should proceed.
"hard", y'know like rolling 5 d20s and all coming up 20 is "hard"....
You know its an insanely hard challenge when there are a few fairly simple decisions to be made. It's not like every single actual choice in ironmon is multiplied tenfold in romhack nuzlockes.
I had a feeling it wasn't actually that close and it was an editing trick, but I was NOT ready for the reveal of the actual time/progress differential. 😂
I haven't watched the video but I renember I have watched the stream and it wasn't even close so much so it was just funny.
I expected it because I believe Kidd did this already in the past
Not hard, can confirm 😎
Good stuff, Wildcard Member 3.
Please give credit to the challenge creator in the description
That was totally all just skill. It’s not like people have multiple thousands of runs until they win, right?
dat dact greatest mon of all time
I wasn't expecting someone to beat it in this video, wow! How many runs was it for you?
this was one of THE CLOSEST races I’ve ever seen 💀
Captain Kidd without glasses is cursed. Good look
They're just blue light glasses I use on the computer, so this is how I look 99% of the time LOL
Why did I think the same
Fr
I almost didn't recognize him 😂
He looks so handsome, and I think short hair would really suit him without glasses.
Kidd without glasses looks like Jesus Christ
have you ever seen them both in the same room at the same time?
@@SheepLiver*GASP*
That was the most insane plot twist I've ever seen
Was really confused when Alpha's run counter was already at like 60, now it makes sense lmao
Me too lol
Wildcardmember3 proves once again that he is one of the gamers of all time
Kidd without glasses reminds me of the time my friend got contacts cuz his glasses broke and I thought he was a new kid😂
Ah, the Clark Kent affect
a new kidd if you will
i think the line between actually hard and bullshit hard is really small, yet kaizo ironmon managed to cross it completely
its a freindly race and competition cus they both know one of them has to end their suffering.
fuck me, I even watched this stream and completely forgot about the "race" gag
I've been had in the worst possible way
Holy. That’s so amazing. What a great use of edits to make a blowout look amazingly close.
This morning I saw someone get a godlike flygon as their starter. Like, it had the stats and coverage to take you to the safari zone easy. But the rival had a super bulky raticate with sing and perish song so they lost in the lab
Think my favourite thing about the 'Ironmon' challenge is how absolutely everyone shits on it for being one of the worst concepts ever made.
Also, having seen the full video, Alpha's wildly jumping run counter now makes perfect sense lmao
The entire point of the challenge is that it's deliberately awful and unfair. Complaining about that seems silly. It's like asking someone to kick you in the balls, and then spending the rest of the day complaining that your balls hurt.
This is, in fact, not a thing everyone does
@@Celestia282I think a lot of it is that people seem insistent that it's "hard" and not just unfair. It implies difficulty, which might be overcome with skill. Like you even has the guy in Alpha's chat arguing it wasn't luck based which is patently untrue.
@@dekkonot It is luck-based, but I'd argue that there is a skill component. There are a lot of moments where you have to make decisions and actually think about what option will be most likely to lead you to victory. You also absolutely can lose a run due to your own poor decisions and not luck- for example, Alpharad lost his first run to the decisioni to run Torkoal instead of pivoting.
@@dekkonot Yep. There is obviously some skill involved, but all Pokémon challenge runs rely heavily on luck because Pokémon is built with luck as a core mechanic. That's why I never got into Nuzlockes. You can do everything right and still lose through no fault of your own.
4:07 “ *Trash* is a normal-type move introduced [...]”
i was just about to say 😂
Dang dude that's pretty clutch that Kidd won with that exact run they competed with
I was in the livestream watching when cheeseland died, we then went and watched Kidd beat the game. Great stream, great vid.
Wild/Card is a Endless Cycle of Pain Over and Over Again
Godlike editing on this one
LMAO that edit was so funny, y’all got me so good 😂 close race
So spoiler ahead
But I’m honestly kinda glad we got to see a bit of an epilogue for this one, I personally was curious if they finished it or not, good on Kidd for beating the champion
Excuse me, who is this fucking BEAUTIFUL man. I am stunned
I was half asleep on my first watch and got so confused when it cut to three hours into Kidd’s run. I had to rewatch because genuinely thought I passed out and missed half the video
loved the edit to make it seem the race was close. I was too stoned to notice and got a great laugh xD
"Attempt 969" nah they knew what they were doing 💀
I love the twist ending here. That really got me.
Ohhh I was there for this!!! It was so hype to see the conclusion
I like how vod watchers know this isn't really a race.
Omg the amount of time it took me to beat that game normally, i could never to this lol
I watched the stream and only remembered that they discussed making this exact twist when the twist happened
Someday I'd love to see a pokemon challenge where it's just 50 battles in a row where the enemy pokemon only know 1 hit KO moves.
Just hit the statistical anomaly to win, it's that simple.
But can CaptainKidd beat Pokemon Emerald with only Mega Rayquaza? The world may never know.
bro felt like this video was over before it started holyyyyy
A Torkoal that knows jump kick….
Trying to visualize that
teenage mutant ninja torkoals ?
@@hummingbird18
The fact that torkoals *technically* can be pronounced almost the same as 'turtles' makes this joke even better.
@@hummingbird18 that helps.
"And I died to perish song." Yep. THAT tracks. Can't say how many people I've seen do this run either never gout out of lab, or lose a perfectly good run because of perish song, or getting no type coverage for Shedninja. But if you get all that, which Kidd did with probably one of the best pulls, usually goes just like that.
Nina would beat it first try
My brain did not know what to do with captain kidd without glasses. It felt oddly betraying.
I won't lie, Kaizo Ironmon looks fun to play. Grueling yes but also fun
that ending caught me off guard.
I legit had no idea who Kidd was for a hot second without his glasses
As someone who watched the vod, this is 100% the order of events
I errupted in laughter at the end like never before, this was so funny
Another resounding victory for wildcard member 3
Closest race you'll ever see, folks
I watched this stream and still the editing got me goddamnit
What a nailbiter! I was on the edge of my seat!
New normal type move: trash
3:59
Fitting that Kidd got some godlike luck with that Aerodactyl considering he looks like Jesus! 😆
I want more of this kind of content.
Oh i thought this was going to be the rayquaza run again
You guys were correct. The twist was very funny
Crazy how alphas best runs have both been ended by perish song
Glassless Kidd is a sight to be sure
This made me laugh audibly
Every day WILDCARD uploads is a good day. But why is Kidd not wearing glasses?
Perish song against snorlax, and Captain Kidd in the call? Where have I seen that one before?
0:52 no truer statement has ever been made about kaizo ironmon
Got so high last night I don’t remember watching this still leaving a thumbs up tho probably a good watch 👍🏻
Kidd without glasses is another person, he’s not the same
I think you guys should do a dead cells challenge video
The challenge is the first one that reaches the first boss (Concierge, Conjoctivius, Mama Tick, Death) is the winner. Or the one that beat the final boss (Hand of The King, Queen, Dracula. Maybe Calliope, Euterpe, and Kleio can count too)
Or you guys can make your own challenge
I'm confused. I watched this stream and I don't remember Alpha ever leaving the lab?
Kidd looks like a broke news reporter without glasses
I stand by my stance that Kaizo Ironmon is a very young child's idea of what a "hard" pokemon challenge is. The skill expression and reward for game knowledge is practically non-existent, the mechanics are designed to simply bloat attempts, it has all the subtlety of children hyping up their favorite fictional character and how they would totally win in a fight. Truly a fitting successor to the "Kaizo" name considering the OG Kaizo Mario was pretty much a bunch of satirical cheap tricks to punish players trying to play with an understanding of Super Mario Bros.' rules and mechanics.
CK actually just beating Kaizo Ironmon is kinda insane
When's the (random number of people higher than one) soulink kaizo ironmon nuzlocke?
Ah yes, the "hardest" pokemon challenge : RNG fiesta.
Bro the complete difference in luck is astonishing 😂
4:01 the note says “Trash” and not “Thrash”
How does every time i see Alpharad and ironmon it always ends in perish song
They ever address their profile picture looks like Stolas from Hazbin Hotel
Exquisite editing, lol.
dude i remember seeing this stream shit is so funny with this edit
I’m using my mom RUclips account I have be watching you guys for a long time thank you for making my childhood feel better
That editing trick! XD
I wish you could have linked the rules to Ironmon, I've been trying to find them and I honestly can't.
Kidd really toook a sideauest and embarrased every YT saying it was hard. Dad Dact 6 is just too powerful
“I lost to perish song”
uh oh back to the lab again
NOO!! Kidd without glasses. I hate change
I think the hardest challenge is one nobody dared to do for decades.
You know how Speedruns have rules about doing it in one sitting? When has anybody done the Speedrun of making Lorelei buy every plushy she could in FRLG?
Isnt this the challenge that took iateyourpie like a year to finally get a winning run? Or was his a harder version of this
No, this is the one
@@redgyrados2000 then did kidd get Insanely lucky or what
@@dollenrm As you can see the challenge is mostly luck so yeah
BACK TO THE LAB AGAIN REFERENCED??? UH OH
That reveal
So down for this
Omg i was so excited 😅
you know, y'all might call yourselves crazy for it, but i've watched the same guy beat kaizo in 4 different games already (and am watching him do super kaizo, which is a new version...) so i think at least you guys are a bit less insane
if anyone is curious, he beat FRLG (charizard, it took him over 3k attemps), Platinum (he made a shortened mod so that there was less bullshit at the start by himself, he had to make sure to leave in bits where you have to walk through grass and shit like that, it was an empoleon and it was barely over 1k tries iirc), and HGSS (same story, he won with a vaporeon, i dont remember which attempt but he spent around 9 months on this one)
then he beat kaizo ironmon with a nat dex mod on emerald (won with a mega slowbro called slowspitter, he started somewhere this year and won last month?? i believe)
and now he's trying super kaizo on regular FRLG
crazy man, he even does variety somehow anyways
@@kitsunebiShake What streamer is this?
The fact that Alpharad cheated in his Brock beating run and still kept going 💀
Spoilers!
I didn't expect Captain Kidd to get such a good Aerodactyl with great stats, moves and stat spreads! No wonder how he beat the challenge with ease!
Is kaizomon mostly just RNG? Was considering getting into it, but not if it mostly depends on RNG as hate those kinds of speedruns.
What does an Ironmon speed run look like?
Harder than solo mega Rayquaza!?!😮
The typo on the thrash info popup :p
Yoooo contacts Kidd?? Nice 😎
I've been following PCrow Ironmon pretty religiously, can no longer watch Ironmon at 1x playback speed
Everyone is commenting on the no glasses thing, which I agree was a surprise, but I want to add that you still look good without glasses Kidd it's just gonna take some getting used to lol
Nice shirt, Alpha
Alpharad being 2 hours slower than Kidd is honestly a skill issue. Personally I would've just won in a minute and dipped to do better things with my life. :)
Nice
