Not sure of The rules were updated but at start of the game for sure you could “buy” the Towncenter or Mountains (stated clear by the rules)

8.0 at BGG is something i really dont' agree with. I would say that the basic version of this game was ok for what it is, a fairly "chaotic game" that can be fun when played a couple of times, but definitively not the kind of game you will try to play again and again for testing new strategies. So, 35 - 40 euros for the basic game yeah, why not.. 75 for some expansions almost none will care about and a couple useless wooden pieces ? no way...
