    Thanks for the video. Have you tested at how long distance you can keep the mic from your head and still get good quality audio?

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan  Год назад +1

      You want to keep the mid within about 6-18 in. Any farther than that and you’ll definitely start to get a lot more room sound.

      @JakeSloan  Год назад +2

      I’ll do a comparison video really soon! But bottom line is both work very well. DJI has the edge on ease of use and size. Rode work better for pure audio quality (especially with external mics) and has better battery life.

    • @MikeBabsBC

      @@JakeSloan thank you! 🙂 The size is what threw me off of DJI... But I have found with rode, that this system is just not a good quality product. I have had numerous issues with my Tx's, coupled with the complicated process to download the recordings just makes me want to go elsewhere. So I think dji will be my next purchase. Which is too bad as I'm actually a big fan of Rode, but I think they released a subpar product in this case.
      Curious to know, which lav mics didn't work so well with the DJI? I have 2 rode mics and a mic from my Tascam dr-10l.

    Thanks Jake! Love this thing, and it's independence from needing an app. As a Vlog-style creator, I rarely need 2 mics. Fortunately they're now offering a 1Tx-1Rx version for about... wait for it: 2/3rds the price! Might be time to put it in my pack.

    Hey Jake thanks for putting this one out. I’m only filming on a iPhone 13 Pro Max at the mo. And the microphone 🎤 is an issue when doing videos. I’m looking into getting the new 1 microphone and 1 receiver from DJI.. any idea 💡or have you come across . I have the osmo 6 gimbal .. would it be to heavy to use when I’m using my mobile and the receiver . Or some of the community might know. Hope all is well jake

    Thanks Jake. Another amazing video. What would you recommend for a GoPro 10? I had SYNCO but it stopped working within the first year sadly and had white noise but good range when it worked. I need to replace it with something reliable but not killing the budget. Rode Wireless Go or DJI Mic or maybe something else that does the same thing? Maybe you have a comparison video? I am mostly outdoors so lots of noise (waterfall, river, wind, road, etc)

    Hi Jake, at your and Jevon's recommendation, I picked up the DJI two mic system and I too like it. I tested on my Nikon D850, GoPro 10 and small Sony Handycam and they all worked well but when connecting to a 3.5mm to XLR Balanced Cable Adapter to a Panasonic HC-UX180 camcorder, I just get squeal sound and no voice audio from the mic. Any thoughts? Thanks Shipwreck Bob

    Great vid by the way I too have been using the dji mic since it came out and love it. I wonder if you could help me with something....
    I am going to be running a game show on my channel where I have a host and two teams of 2 people, so 5 people in total on stage. I was planning on use the dji mic on each person so there'd be 5 recordings. I am currently using tshure mvl lav mics with the dji mics I have. Of course I'm going to play around with different settings but based on that info what would you say would be the best settings in regards to mono/stereo or do you think it would be better to just hit record on all transmitters and have them all set to mono? I have a feeling I'm going to run into a lot of problems so any advice from you or anyone reading this would be very helpful.
    Thanks again for the vid 😎

      wow that sounds like a big setup! I would record on each mic unit and then record on camera for sync in post as well but I would use the audio from the mic unit so you have greater flexibility in post on panning etc

      yeh it’s gonna be a big job but I think it’s possible.l I just wanted to hear people’s thoughts before I spend a small fortune haha. Only one way to find out 😁 I’ll be doing these shows throughout the summer so let me know how it looks when I post the first one sometime in May.

    Thanks, useful stuff. Question - if I want to use an ios device with this mic but the ios battery doesnt last long enough is there a way I can charge the iphone and have the dji receiver plugged in to the phone at the same time ? Will it work with a one to two lightning adapter or a lightning + a mic socket adapter ? My ios devices have earphone sockets but not sure if they are also mic sockets

      @@JakeSloan but what I can do is use the jack plug to connect - all my iOS devices have headphone sockets. I had an old microphone with a TRRS jack plug connector so I tested if the headphone socket worked with a microphone and it did, on all of them. So I think it will work when connected that way (leaving the lightning socket free for charging). The answer then is that with iOS devices having headphone sockets (whoch are wired also as microphone sockets) it will work. If you make any more videos like this on dji mics you might want to make this point because it makes those iOS devices suitable for longer recordings. Also, Im guessing it would also work with chi chargers (possibly wrong name - contactless charging through a glass back - which mine dont do). Thanks.

    • @MoonManPI
      @MoonManPI Год назад

      @@JakeSloan Thanks for your reply. Actually it turns out it was not the firmware update, The DJI Mic is not capable of sending stereo audio into the iPhone. Or even 2 separate mono tracks. This is a real flaw in the product in my opinion because you can't edit the audio from 2 people talking to each other. Crazy but true. I hope they can fix it with a future firmware update. In the meantime some people on the DJI forum suggested that a work around could be using a usb c female to lightening male adapter. Researching that now. Very disappointed DJI did not make this clear in the literature.

    Hi Jake. Fellow 907 guy here. It’s been a while since I’ve caught up on your channel. congratulations on all the growth. You definitely deserve it. I had two questions for you. #1 what are you using in post to clean up the self noise? I’m finding the self noise on my unit is pretty high, especially if it’s an indoor environment without ambient outdoor sound. #2 Do you have a video where you talk about internal settings you’re using with your Sony cameras and the settings on the wireless mics? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
