One thing that makes T2 the greatest sequel ever is the fact that Sarah Connor/Linda Hamilton translate in the screen what happened during T1 to T2. She's ripped because of working out to make sure she's fit. She knows a ton of military stuff and skills to survive (like lock picking, hand to hand combat, etc). And she looks crazy because she can't stop thinking about the machines and if her son is safe from them. She's not all of this on screen because it looks cool, there's a purpose for every stage of her evolution from innocent waitress to full on crazy military bad ass. In Genisys Sarah Connor looks like Emilia Clark pretending to be Sarah Connor.
Between T1 and T2 Sarah Connor was by herself, no one supported her, no one believed her, she had to raise john the future savior of mankind alone and prepare for the apocalypse, ulimately she got John taken away from her, locked up, abused... This Sarah however had Pops taking care of her since she was little, she didnt have to get ripped and didnt have to learn all the military stuff, she knows she has an unkillable murder robot protecting her. People forget that.
Maybe, but the problem in this scene seems to be more the villain than suspension of disbelief about the heroes. _T2: Judgment Day_ does a great job of showing the audience the T-1000's limits in the exact same scenes that show how intimidating it is; for instance, in the asylum escape. The T-1000 is vulnerable to conventional weapons: it can recover quickly from its head splitting like a melon-but it does need a moment to recover, and a firearm at close range is enough to do the damage. The _T2_ villain is as overeager in its mission as the first movie's Terminator firing on empty in Tech Noir: the T-1000 can step entirely through a barred door in pursuit of its prey-but it forgets it's holding a pistol that can't slide through as easily, which slows it down. Even as a killer blob of metal, it still _needs_ that pistol to hunt. And so on. The scene is all about the T-1000 as an extremely threatening presence, but at the same time, it communicates its limits. The villain here reads like an attempt to copy what most people remember consciously about the _Judgment Day_ T-1000 in similar scenes, how it's a whole new kind of "will not stop". But this scene loses those limiting elements entirely, and with them, loses all tension, as the villain has to fail to press the advantage to keep the heroes alive. The Connor-Terminator pops on screen to do something nasty, then seems to disappear and start counting down silently for its next cue, waiting for the others to react before popping back up again to do something different. The characters' handguns are shown (and have been already) to do absolutely nothing, unlike with the _T2_ T-1000 and shotgun, so their tacticool pointing and creeping looks absurd. The one weapon that appears effective, the magnet, exists just to show it's _not_ and give the villain a "cool" head-turn reaction. Villain pops on screen, does something villainous, everyone gets time to react melodramatically, villain pops up again, does something else... it's like ghosts in a haunted funhouse, different ghosts in different places doing disconnected things. This continues until time's up on the action interval for the movie. Then, the scene just ends. And this is a scene that starts, right before this video starts, with a dud of a CG trailer shot where the villain literally walks off everything that's happened to it, so it can do a cut-rate copy of _Say, that's a nice bike,_ from _T2._ The comparison to an earlier character in the series is much more than just suggested by familiar character names, as it is with Kyle or Sarah. It's *_demanded_* by the visual language of cinema, and with tone-deaf stridency. So, it makes clear, I think, what's the real big problem with this scene.
Biggest issue I have: Ripping apart the brake system would just cause the brakes to lock immediately. Air brakes fail-safe, meaning the air pressure *keeps* the brakes open. A sudden loss of pressure would mean there's nothing holding them back anymore. -a former commercial driver
If T-800 suffered such a hit in T1 or T2, he would be shut down for at least 30 seconds... Aside from realism of computer having to restart after a shock disrupting its work, it served the built of suspense... Imagine a policeman jumping out from the car, calling for ambulance, checking if the guy is dead, and then T-800 suddenly wakes up, and totally ignoring him gets into the car.
Not to mention he is holding a Glock and pointing it in Sarah's direction while the bus is bumping and jerking all over the place. That also wasn't too smart he is also resting his finger on the trigger the whole time... One violent bump or jerk and he could have sailed a 147 gr FMJ 9mm into Sarah's head...
@@pliskenx51mm83 For a warrior and person who is suppose to be a bad ass, he has no trigger discipline. But I think that is the least of our worries with a scene this bad. Jack Frost cersie lannister (Lena Hedy) plays Sarah in the Sarah Conner Chronicles. Its kind of funny now that i realize they were mortal enemies in game of thrones
I love that this scene establishes how much weight a T-800 could hold. Arni there was holding the bus by one hand, but just barely. I think it's fun to be able to dissect this immortal unkillable machine, to be able to get inside it's strengths and weaknesses like that.
The bus bounces about 50 feet into the air and rolls around several times after the driveshaft hits the road while moving at about 5-6 mph (considering it takes it several minutes to cross only half the golden gate bridge) so that bus only weighs at most 100-150 pounds with both people in it. I think Arnie could hold that bus without straining a muscle.
@@CQBlitz0 The golden gate bridge is not dozens of miles long, yet they use several minutes getting halfway across the bridge, meaning they are moving pretty slow but the bus still bounces like a beach ball, meaning it has to be pretty light. To be fair, if you watch the movie as an affectionate parody of the Terminator franchise it's still hilarious and quite entertaining. I love it the same way I love Airplane and Hot Shots.
El Roo if anything the pistol helps his confidence knowing that he could potentially shoot it in the right place, the round might also push the terminator back a bit to prevent it from tearing you to pieces
I love how this scene adds a great strength feat for a T-800. If Arnold can hold that bus with one hand which proves he could either flip the bus over or even pick it up and throw it at someone.
The scene is actually really stupid. Unless a T-800 weighed about 10 thousand tons it would get tipped over by the weight of the bus regardless of how much lifting capacity it had, but at the same time if it was heavy enough to actually hold the bus it would not have been able to ride on the bus. Weights of terminators has been a problem with the series the whole way through.

No way the bus would flip that many times with a piece of its axle being used lengthwise as a stop like that, even if the bus was going over 50mph. Then how it landed mostly parallel to the road initially... but somehow was rolling perpendicular the next shot. A bit reaching, but so is the rest of it at this point.

Amazing!!! But even GENESIS is better than Cameron's "return" to "origins."
No denying that
Genisys has a lot of respect/parody for past Terminator series.
This scene is a respect/parody for TSCC.
There was such a scenes so I could enjoy this movie.
It was a scifi horror at the beginning. It ended as a joke.
Sarah and Reese are terminators too. They survided that bus extreme fall with no damage
Pops: Nice to see you. Get out.
Sopacadaria
What are you gonna do when a guy tumbles down the road, busts through your car window and calmly says, "Nice to see you. Get out?"
To me, this scene is more memorable than the entirety of T6
Arnold: “Please let this be a normal field trip.”
"Brakes are gone!" *LET ME CONTINUE FLOORING THE FUCKING PEDAL*
"Nice to see you, get out" I love that
Omg arnold is still filming the terminator xDDD never gets old
*Old but not obsolete!*
Terminator predicted a school bus shooting, and a bridge accident.
We had a bus driver like this, growing up!!!! THE 80’s were fun!!!! 🤣😂😂😂😂
Arnold:nice to see you.
Get out
Cop:😯
Esses filmes do exterminador do futuro é de tirar o fôlego. O diretor é FERA demais
Arnold is the best part of this film
Student: Excuse me, After I finish the Driving Lesson, What's next?
Mentor: 0:58
0:53 Officer: “That guy survived and he took my car.” 😱😳
Why is it that in every movie whenever brakes fail, they always speed up? Did the accelerator suddenly get jammed as well?
Bus flip, OK. You want it to roll, too? Costs extra, but I'll throw in a cliff hanger for free. Hey, I got a friend who can turn the bus into a robot.
2:13 okay dude HOW do they survive that with like 3 scratches like literally HOW
He's like: "Nice to see you". And I'm justs laughing my ass off
I swear it's like with every other installment, John Connor and the rest of the crew goes through a face transplant. Makes it very hard to get behind the characters..
Sopacafaca
Good work Anorld
