The tagine is cooked with low heat to allow vegetables to sweat and create their own sauce in which they'll cook eventually, a perfect moroccan tagine takes 3+ hours and you don't need to add any water (because of the preceeding statement). It is preffered to have some meat in there, it give the sauce more dept, so when you dip bread into the sauce (created with the sauce of all the other ingredients) you get the whole different tastes combined
Hello! Here's a Mexican living Houston Texas, I just came back from Morocco and brought with me my Tagine pot! Today I'm cooking for the first time... thank you for your video, I love your country!!
Nice! That actually did look really tasty! Nice thought about actually trying to immerse yourself in the lifestyle of places you visit by cooking some of their cuisine!
I loved this video. It took me back to one of my first times cooking for myself in college. My parents had just left, and I wanted to make myself zucchini pasta with a spiralizer my mom gave me. I'd also never grocery shopped.... So I went to the store and got my stuff and got to spiralizing. Long story long, I bought a cucumber instead of a zucchini, the noodles turned to goop, and the meal was not edible. I was so embarrassed, but reaching out to a friend about my frustration lead to a first date (I still needed to have dinner) that turned into a worthwhile relationship. I liked how you laughed about your mistakes in the comments. It's all of part of the learning process.
Hi, Mr. CC. Thanks for the demonstration. I always wanted to get a tagine. You made this look really easy. And I appreciate that you had someone who would honestly rate your cooking. She was very nice and direct with you. I'm going tagine shopping soon.
Who doesn’t like potatoes only crazy ppl don’t like it ( never heard of anyone not liking it but not eating it cause of low carb lol How do Irish like there potatoes
TY I can't travel and your made this an adventure for me--Sonhow your own cable show! More people ,many Moore would enjoy such a well thought out but casual adventure! Only if we could taste too!!
it looks like a good job to me. i would personnally prefer to add a bit more mixed spices and salt on the top , smashed garlic and chopped parsley and coriander. also some olive olive. no need for broth. a little bit of water will do as all the veggies will melt and make their own juice. i hope you used only olive oil at the beggining. cheers
I'am moroccan myselfes but was born in the Netherlands. The Tajin is really an amazing way to cook al kind of meals. That can be with fish, meat or even vegetarian. With rice, cooscoos or even potato. And of course don't forget the traditional "Ras el Hanout" which consist of at least twenty of the most important herbs and spices. Through those herbs and spices your mouth will make a journey of all kinds of smells and flavors. If you have never eaten that, I would say go to a Moroccan toko and get the ingredients and cook a delicious Moroccan tagine. Enjoy your meal :)
Honestly I don’t understand why everybody’s tripping about the new intruder to our traditional tajine (cucumbers obviously) I mean yall should give ma man some credit for at least trying to make a tajine from scratch plus this was probably his first visit to Morocco. Guys stop criticizing and just enjoy the god damn vlog .😅Anyway, Good job dude 👏🏽
I am watching this video because I shipped many Tagine pots to My buyer is Middle East. But this is the only thing in my sample room I didn’t know how to use.. will try some cooking
Hhhh first we don't use cucumber in tagine, but it may taste good 😂 never tried it, btw, the already cut vegetables[ some like carrots, potatoes, scrap bcs they are the ones that takes so much time] can be found in some street markets in some cities (not all of them), it helps a lot.
@@CuriosityCulture yes you did screw up hahhha about the cucumber, but it's fine I'm glad you took a step and tried to make a tajine by yourself this is really cool and u did it well. Hope u enjoyed ur time in Morocco

Great job, even, if you added cucumbers.. Your attempt at making a delicious Moroccan tagine was awesome. I like tagine...the 1st time I had it was a year, ago. When I visited, Fes...
This is the first time I see your channel and this video made my day.. Not bad actually for your fist time trying moroccan Tagine 👍. I'm a moroccan the first time I ever tried it was hillarious too, I put a Lot of Zafran and water because I wanted that yellow/orange color hhhh, I still remember my family laughed so much about it, but anyway, we practise until we master it that's life

Not true, though. Vegetable-only tagines are authentically moroccan. However, in weddings and celebrations, the vegetables are always accompanied by meat. If there's anything to improve, it would be the way the vegetables were cut and "organized" in the plate. A better presentation always makes a tagine tastier. The family that I stayed with in Morocco for a month cooked their tagines in a pressure cooker. That's how I make mine now.
