Thank you very much for making this review! I plan on getting this camera sometime in the future. This will be very useful in storm chasing and capturing any other things that may occur, such as wildlife, planes, vehicles, etc.
@@techtoremember8096 No, not yet. I may be able to do my first couple chases late this summer. Otherwise, next summer looks like I should be able to storm chase. And then you have the winter storms or other storm systems in the fall and winter and early spring.
Wow with that price range that a realy intersting camera, just found your chanel today, idk if you have a test of this camera at night and low light, i guess you already have the video somewhere on your chanel. Thank You for the review
Thank you! I just bought this at a great value. I can’t wait to use it for all purposes. My next choice at the moment would be to save for the Nikon P950 or a high-end 80+ optical zoom camera when I have it.
Hi there. That’s a very good question ! For the best picture quality in video I’d say the Sony Rx10 4. If that is what your asking. However if you want a really long zoom with better stabilization and can sacrifice a little picture quality then I’d say the Nikon p950. But if you would consider a camcorder then hands down the Sony Ax53 is great too !Thank you for your comment !
I got this camera on Facebook marketplace last year for 175$ Canadian and I love it I thought my iPhone took good pictures until I bought this and the zoom is very impressive
Thanks for your video! May i ask you something? I go the FZ82 (which is basically similar to the FZ80) and im struggling to get good 4k 30fps videos. Im new to photography and taking videos and a bit overwelmed by all the settings and different modes of the camera. Most of my videos are stuttery and not really sharp. (Especially the stuttering makes videos a very bad experience) Is there any mode (or settings) you would recommend me to use for outdoor filming? (nature, ruins, buildings) Since theres so many modes and Settings its hard to figure out what works best. Especially since the stuttering only gets visible when watching the result on a computer later. It would be nice if you could give me a little input, how you do things. Thank you and greetings
Hi there. I appreciate you watching and commenting on the video. Sorry to hear you are struggling with the camera. Usually when someone describes the video as "stuttery" they are referring to the frame rate-Sounds like you have the camera set to 30fps which is the highest frame rate. To get the smoothest possible motion, 60fps makes for the best video, but unfortunately this camera maxes out at 30. I would suggest you try not to pan the camera quickly and do not zoom while shooting. Compose your shot and keep the camera steady and this should help any motion issues. Not sure why the video isn't sharp. There are adjustments to up the sharpness in the camera. The other question I'd ask you is, are you watching the video from the SD card itself? Make sure you have the proper SD card. If you are using a slow SD card thats not designed for 4k, then the video will lag and stutter. Make sure you have a class 3 speed 10 card and a computer fast enough to play 4k video. To test this, try shooting in 1080p and see how it plays. If the video plays smoothly in 1080p and not 4k, then it very well could be the speed of the card is too slow for 4K. and just swap it out for a faster card. Let us know if any of this helps! Regards.
I was going to ask, which do you think is better this one or the Canon SX70-HS, but you answered it in the last minute. Is this still your opinion, as I was about to buy the Canon? Thanks for the great review.
Hi there. Yes, both cameras have their strengths and weaknesses. Actually, the FZ80 is now officially discontinued so you'd have to buy it second hand most likely unless you find someone that has some old stock. I do think it produces better images than the Canon but there are certain quirks which annoy me about the FZ80, like the rear screen being fixed, that eye piece diopter that is always changing focus because it is so loose and a few others. To me, picture quality is the most important thing so I would get the Panasonic over the Canon. The Canon's stabilization is worse and is very grainy in low-light. Thank you very much for your comment and kind words!
HI there. Ok -you need to simply go into the menu and then go down to the third tab on the left where it shows the wrench icon with a "C". Then go to page 4, where it says "Guide Line'. Then you can set it there. Hope that helps.
Just use the app for the phone instead of the screen I sit in my house use the phone to see what birds are on the bird table outside where the camera sits on me tripod put it on silent mode snap away
Right now, I trying out the fz80 and plan on return it for the FZ1000 for concert photography. Seems like the sensor size and mic input is a worth upgrade. What is your input on this?
Yeah for low light at a concert I would agree. The Fz300 for a small sensor has a fast lens so is better also. Coming out with a review soon if that one
Thanks
I like the Farrah Faucet poster. I had that one too, back in the day!
Ah yes !it’s a classic !

No problem ! I love storm chasing actually. Are you a professional storm chaser ?

Thank you for this awesome review. I love how you show actual shooting in the field and you have great tips.
Thanks ! I appreciate the comment

Awesome ! Congrats on the camera
Nice review. I have an FZ 70 and I'm pretty satisfied. Focussing a bird in flight is bit of a challenge.
Thank you. Yes getting those birds is tough !
Thank you for all your great videos. I must ask, if your main focus was video, which on all the super zoom cameras would you recommend ?
